Hi all, as I said before I am bringing along my own photographer and thanks to Tracysab I was able to trade the photographer included in the package for the Caribean Trio to play at the cocktail hour THANK YOU for the idea Tracy!!!!! I am also curious to know which location people have chosen to have their reception dinner......I chose to have the cocktails and dinner at the Blue Beach bar but not really being able to see the bar I am nervous I made the wrong choice......so let me know what you ladies think/choose please thanks!!   4. So my wedding is Feb 11, 2011 at the Jade Very excited!! I have been working with Pilar and her replys are slow but she seems to know the right anwsers. I just hope when Sandra returns that nothing will change!! I am thrilled to hear someone was able to swap the photographer for the band during the cocktail hour!! I am going to request that swap as well. I have decided to bring my own photographers, at first i thought it would be crazy expensive to bring someone all the way from Boston to mexico but after talking to them all i have to pay for is their flight and 3day stay at the hotel and they will take photos all 3 days including a trash the dress the day after the wedding. So we will get tons of photos not just the normal 4 to 8 hours you would get with another photographer. I am so happy i inquired!!!!! Happy planning

I just wanted something more colorful and tropical. She said they can work with the new colors/flowers and try to stay within the original price. The one thing she wouldn't budge on was prices for live entertainment. I was interested in adding a live salsa band-the resort qutoes it as $1500 per 45 minutes! I thought that was a little crazy-but she said that price was pretty set. So no salsa band for me! lol I'm not sure what they would charge to bring in an outside band. Oh yeah-in case you are interested in their photographer-she told me they use a guy named Fernando at Positive Photos. Also-when I tried to contact him for pricing on additional photos and hours-he never responded. It has been about 3 weeks since I emailed. I'm sure there are a million more things I can share on here about my experience so far in planning. We are in the middle of working out our final quote with Pilar so I've had tons of emails back and forth with her lately with more specific questions. Oh yeah-and we are getting married on the Pergola and using the Festival Terrace for the reception. Will have abotu 50 guests. That's another thing. The most people included in any of their packages are 25 people-so if you have more than that like we do-it will take a little bit more coordinating and negotiating to figure out final prices for everyone. We are also extending the reception for an extra 2 hours. The extra cost for the dj per hour is $350. As of now-Pilar has not charged for the extra 2 hours of bar service-so hopefully, that part stays firm. If not-it gets kind of pricey. It's $15 per person per hour....i'd rather just give the bartender a really great tip to stay there! Anyway-let me know if you have anymore specific questions. Hope this helps!

  8. I am in the process of planing my wedding at the NOW Jade resort. it will be in feb 2011, very excited!! It has been difficult communicating with the wedding person there though! If i email her a question it takes a good week to hear back from her, but i guess i just have to be relaxed when planing a mexico wedding

    Hi all my name is amie and i am planing a destination wedding for feb 2011 in the riviera maya. we are having the wedding and staying at the NOW Jade resort and am very excited!! i am waiting on conformation from the resort on the date then i am sending out the save the dates with the real invatation soon to follow. any tips or info anyone wants to share with me would be great.
