  1. I totally agree! I've gone Vistaprint crazy myself  I've ordered our letterhead and matching envelopes for welcome letters, address labels for our invites, hats for the entire wedding party, tote bags and note pads for myself, my bridesmaids and FMIL, pens, sticky notes, postcards, flat note cards, and lawn chair signs for OOT bags, and photo books with some of our e-pics for the parents! Oh my!  I just buy things when they're free and pay shipping...
  2. I'm in the same boat! Most of our friends that are coming are married with kids so we chose a family resort... yet none of them are bringing their kids
  3. Hi Becky! Thank you for offering your roof top for us to use; that's very kind of you. I'm totally open in terms of location... so whatever works best for everyone is ok with me.
  4. Great! Why don't we set something up for Wednesday, Sept 15th? Does that date work for everyone?
  5. We heard great things about it so decided to have our DW there. Were you there for a wedding? Were there any things about the resort that you disliked? Would love your input?
  6. We are getting legally married in our hometown a couple of weeks before leaving for Mexico. Apparently in BC you can no longer get married at city hall or a courhouse... so we're just doing it at a local landmark with just our families present. We have told guests of our plans but that hasn't deterred anyone from coming to our DW in Mexico.
  7. I'm interested in the ceremony programs, pocket bags, and confetti if they're still available.
  8. Hi ladies! I just thought I'd share what I've done with the free postcards from Vistaprint.... We had a lot of people calling and/or emailing asking about our website and wedpass info (again!) so I put the info on a postcard and we gave one to each of our guests. I didn't opt to put a magnet in the back but I guess in hindsight that might have been a better idea. Anyway, it worked because we stopped getting all the calls! Here's a picture of it... sorry about the quality, I took it with my iPhone!
  9. Thanks so much ladies! I obviously really love how they turned out. And yes, I made them myself... I am not really a crafty bride so it was a lot of work for me! lol
  10. I came across this idea too before any of the wedding planning even started and absolutely love it! Unfortunately, my mom won't be at the wedding so I was thinking of doing something special for my future MIL, just not sure what to do yet. Any ideas?
  11. FI and I have been together for 4 years and have been living together for the last 2 years. When we decided to move in together, I had told him that while I wasn't completely happy about living together before at least getting engaged, I knew that we were headed towards that road so I agreed. Well, we went ring shopping soon after and he ended up picking the style he thought I would like. Sure enough, I loved it! So we went to a jeweler that was highly recommended (both of our best friends got all their jewelry from there) to have it custom made. After that, I put it out of my head and just let him run with it. Well, the year came and went and still no proposal. On to the next year... it was now December and still nothing. Last thing I wanted to do was give him an ultimatum but I was starting to get desperate! Still, I bit my tongue and said nothing... Finally... A couple nights before, FI casually mentioned that the partners for the company he works for wanted to have New Years dinner with the managers. It was very last minute, but with his company, last minute notices are quite normal. I remember a year ago, FI called me at work to tell me that we would be going to a Canucks hockey game later that night as he was given a pair of tickets shortly after lunch. Last minute plans are nothing new to his company. So, on December 30th we were on our way to dinner at Don Francesco, an upscale Italian restaurant downtown. Oddly enough, I thought to myself that I won't be getting engaged this year - tonight was the dinner with his partners and with tomorrow being New Year's Eve... everyone who knows me knows that I find proposals on holidays and special days (ie: Christmas, New Year's, birthdays, anniversaries etc.) tacky. So in my head, I was thinking that there goes another year! Oh well... Anyways, before we left the house, FI mentioned that a friend from work wanted to meet up just before dinner. He suspected that she wanted give us a present since we gave her and her husband a Christmas present the week before. During the drive he received a text from this friend to meet at the 'red thing on Robson.' A few minutes later, she sent another text clarifying where she wanted to meet. Since FI and I have spent a lot of time in the area, we joked around about how well we knew that landmark. We parked at the Law Courts due to its close proximity to the restaurant and Robson Square. Even though we were running a little late, I smiled as we walked up to the street level. I was thinking about how we met at the Law Courts, and how Robson Square was the starting and end point of our annual Scavenger Hunt that we organize together for our 24Hr Relay team. It’s definitely a place we’re fond of and very familiar with. When we got to the 'red thing', FI started to talk about the sculpture (which is actually called 'Spring'). He retold the story of how his father took him and his brother to this spot when they were younger and what that day means to him. I was a bit confused because he was acting a little weird. He continued talking turning his attention to 'Spring', in fact, he said the words, “our love is infinitely Spring”. I was really starting to worry about him because he looked very nervous and normally doesn’t talk like this in public. In private, he’s the sweetest guy ever, but when we’re out in public he likes to clown around. Again, I interrupted and again, he continued on saying that “our love is infinitely Spring”. He kept saying all these sweet things to me and the whole time I was thinking to myself - "Where the hell is this friend of his and why is he telling me all this now when we're running late for an important dinner?!" Then to my surprise, he dropped down to one knee! I finally clued in - he was about to ask me the question I've been dying to hear for the past year and a half!! I got so teary-eyed that when he took the box out of his pocket, the ring was a big shiny blur. After his proposal, he told me that there was no dinner at Don Francesco (duh!) but we did have reservations at Goldfish Pacific Kitchen in Yaletown (a trendy neighborhood nearby) that we were now running late for. Apparently, he had it timed perfectly but since I kept interrupting him so much, I threw him off a little. Yup, it was a typical Dilannis moment =)
  12. What a fantastic idea! I'm looking for 30 purple and turquoise sashes (15 of each) for my November 2010 wedding. Please let me know if anyone has any! Thanks!
  13. Hello ladies! I am looking to purchase about 30 chair sashes - my colors are purple and turquoise. I'd prefer to buy a combo of the two colors but am ok with just getting one color. I'm also looking for a turquoise parasol, 2 white parasols and a white thank you one. I'd also like to buy some starfish as I'm having a hard time finding a place that will ship to Canada. Thanks in advance!
  14. They are finally done and I couldn't be happier with them! We've mailed a few out a couple of weeks ago and hand delivered the rest - I've already got several RSVP's back! As you can see, my colors are purple, turquoise, and light grey. Sorry about the picture quality, I took them on my iPhone... I just love how they turned out, totally worth the sweat and tears!
  15. I think it's very sweet and personal - love it! It's your wedding and you should do what feel right to you, not everything has to be by the book IMO. I have 2 maids of honour, my 2 younger sisters. I just couldn't bring myself to choose one just because you're only supposed to have one MOH. My 2 best friends are my bridesmaids....
  16. I'm interested in the pink camera - how much to ship to Canada V3T 0C5?
  17. I'm interested in the robe and parasols. Do you ship to Canada? V3T 0C5
  18. Can't open the file Would you be able to email it to me? [email protected] Thanks!
  19. Are the clear plastic wrist coils and key card/tip holders still available? Also interested in the robe... would you ship to Canada? V3T 0C5
