Ok... so my wedding date is RESERVED for May 21, 2011 at Riu NEgril in Jamaica. I have 90 days to confirm the date. My problem is i dont know whether or not to send STD's until after i get rate from the TA. I am having atough time getting answers about the airfare/hotel rates for this trip because airfare is not yet available. im not sure if i can reserve rooms at the resort or not either. should I order my STD's if the TA says there shouldnt be a problem getting booked for the week of my wedding, or should i wait until everything is confirmed? i want to give my guests enough time to plan and save for the trip. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help and let me know what you have all done! Thank you all so much!

well i changed my colors... I took my BM to get the dress ordered and they told be the color was DISCONTINUED!!! i was very upset. I know it happens all the time, but i searched and searched for a similar color and cannot find one. i change my colors to turquoise and purple. I like the bright colors and the turquoise will look great with my eyes HAHA! Anyway..its tough to get flowers in that scheme... but i am on a mission! For those of you who have done p90x.... My friend just gave me his discs. What equipment should i get to do the program and is there a specific order to do the discs in? I am average weight/height.. not in shape lol. I am sort of nervous because every single person that has told me about p90x has said that they havent been able to even finish one workout. Is this true? I need to do somthing... not only do i want to get fit for my wedding, but my FI and i are going to a wedding in CA next month and he is the BM and his EX from 7 years ago is the MOA... Great... it should be fun! haha

I am having a TERRIBLE time choosing our wedding colors. My FI doesnt care lol... and i fell in love with this BM dress by Jim Hjelm and the color is "snapdragon" (pink and orange) it is very pretty... it sounds weird, but looks awesome and all of my BM's love it too.. the only thing is the reception site (at home) doesnt have any linens to match and i dnt want to spend extra money on custom linens... so i am thinking of going with a different color scheme... what are your colors? any ideas? I thought od blue, but is it too much with the ocean?

We just booked out date:) May 21, 2011 at Riu Negril! I am very worried about the weather in May.. Have anyone been married/visited Jamaica in May? I know its getting pretty close to Hurricaine season, and can be VERY warm/rainy. Let me know what you think. We chose May because i fiance and I are both finishing up school and May is the start of our summer break. and we dont want to wait 2 years. Let me know what you all think THANKS

I am getting married at the Riu Negril next year. My fiance and I visited the resort last March and thats where we got engaged! I felt that the resort was beautiful. It is pretty big. We are very laid back people and everyone has different opinions, but i LOVED it! the nice thing is when we were there we only saw about 3 weddings. It seems like places like Ocho Rios you have to share your wedding day with about 4 or 5 people in one day.. which i wouldnt necessarily mind, but i never saw more than one wedding a day.. and it could have been just the time of the year too! Who knows, I loved the resort, the only thing i didnt like was the sand that was on the beach where the arch to get married is.. its a little rocky, so have your BM's, n GM's wear shoes:) I think i can live with that.. the people there are amzing too... but that is everywhere in Jamaica. Good luck finding the resort you love!

Hello! I am newly engaged. My fiance want to have a May 2011 wedding at the Riu Negril. I have spoken to a TA, who informed me that i could not book my wedding or get prices for guests until July! (because airfare for may is not available til then) I did however send a booking request for out date at the riu and they will be emailing me soon the give me details. I want to get my save the dates out asap so my guests have enough notice and are able to save for the big day:) Is she telling the truth or should i consult with another TA? Also how did you word your STD's when you sent them out? I feel like a lost cause lol! i dont know where to start planning this wedding.... PLEASE HELP! Thanks:)

My fiance (now.. hehe) and I have been dating for 4 years. Everysingle one of our friends got engaged, and most of them married.. before we were engaged. This did bother me since we were dating the longest... but oh well. save the best for last! haha A few years ago we planned on going to Jamaica and the plans fell through because of an illness in the family. We ended up just putting it on hold til the timing was a little better In Feb of this year we decided to go! Booked the trip and took off on March 12 2010! it was the BEST vacation of my life! The day after we got there (march 13th:)) We spent most of the morning laying on the beach and splashing around in the ocean! Michael (my fiance) went up to the hotel room a few times to get more sunscreen and drinks. When we decided to go get some lunch we headed up to the room to get showered and dressed. I opened the door and didnt notice the "will you marry me" written in flower petals on the bed! haha I just kept talking and talking and i noticed he wass acting kind of strange so i asked him what was wrong and turned around at the same time! I saw the petals and started freaking out! it was the BEST feeling in the world! I cried, laughed, smiled, and screamed all at the same time!! I forgot to say yes. The poor guy was on his knee for what seemed like an hour before i managed to say YES! the ring is beautiful and i was totally shocked! I didnt think it was coming since we spent so much on the vacation, just bought a house, and a new car... Plus i check his account to balance check books lol! I am very excited to say the least to take the next step in our long life together!

hey everyone! My fiance and i are planning a May 2011 wedding at Riu club hotel in Negril! We were there in March of this year (that is where we got engaged!) Does anyone have pictures of thier wedding at the Riu Negril? I would love to see what it looks like all put together. There were a few weddings while we were there, but we happened to be on an excursion every time one took place. I know i have a couple concerns about the rocky sand on the beach by the Arch! Also, should i book my date with the hotel for the wedding before i book airfare? or do i have to/should i wait? I know Airfare wont be available for May 2011 until July of this year.. (330 days in advance) What was the average cost for your guests to come? HI! I have not booked my wedding yet. We actually got engaged on March 13th 2010 at the Riu Club Negril! I had a blast! We would like to have it at the same resort... i just had a couple concerns. I checked it out when we were there.. and that was one thing that i didnt like. I have always dreamed of being married barefoot... and i dont think that is possible because of the thin, rocky sand! Hey Everyone! My name is Jess and i got engaged on March 13th 2010 in Jamaica! it was the best vacation of my life! My fiance and I have always talked about doing a destination wedding and cant think of a better place to have it than Jamaica! We stayed at the Riu Negril and loved the resort! we are planning a May 2011 wedding and have not booked our date yet. We were told we had to wait until airline was available to do so. Is this true? anyway July is the soonest we can book it according to our travel agent! not sure which resort to book it at either. Since we have been to riu negril, i think it would be nice to have it there since we are quite familiar with the resort, however... the wedding location at this resort had rocky sand! I have many many questions on where to start and things like that! This seems like a wonderful forum with alot of helpful people! i am glad i found it! Any advice at all would be very helpful!
