Thanks guys, That was what i was worried about...i had a feeling there might be restrictions on where they could legally perform the ceremony. I have had trouble finding out for certain because we are getting married in PR and its not listed as a state on any of the sites i have found so still unsure on how to find out for certain As for checking with the hotel/WC we are TRYING to plan by ourselves for budget reasons, and will be having the ceremony on a beach so no hotel involved :S I know im crazy attempting such a huge task with such little knowledge but this site has been a lot of help so far I am trying to find someone on the island itself to use...but its such a small island there aren't many and all the ones we have tried are no longer there. Will keep trying though

Hey everyone, My Fiance and I are planning on getting married in Vieques (puerto Rico) in March next year and we are having problems finding a minister or anyone really who could perfom the ceremony which lead us to thinking about getting a friend of ours to get ordained and do it. Does anybody know the process our friend would have to go through and whether the marriage would be legal? Any information anybody has on the topic would be really helpful....also if anybody knows of any officiants on the island of Vieques that would be helpful also. Thanks in advance for any help Emily

Hey eveyone, My name is Emily. I got engaged in March and am planning our wedding for March 12th 2011 (one year from when we got engaged and two years from when we became a couple) Im from the UK and he is American so we are having to go down the fiance visa route...ugh. We both wanted a beach wedding but obviously being tied to america with this visa we were limited with options for beautiful secluded beaches and have decided on puerto rico, he is puerto rican too so it all ties in nicely. We have decided on the puerto rican island of vieques so any help or information anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
