Here's a link to our photos. Loved our photographer. Loved Maui. Wanna move there and just be beach bums. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/72485/our-maui-wedding-by-anna-kim-photography#post_1590932

Meggers and Kathy- GORGEOUS pics! Kathy you friend rocked those TTD pics and Meggers your dress looked great! Our AHR is in 3 days so I've been running around like a mad woman trying to finish up stuff (cleaning dress, getting DVD in the mail, etc). On a random note, I can't remember if I'd posted that our resort LOST my TTD. Well, they found it and it's being shipped to me. Not that it was that sentimental, but I was planning to give it away or sell it. Here's that awesome pic of Mr.Speedo....he looks like's he's smuggling something in there. Eek.

Okay. CLEARLY my brain is still in Maui. I am in our lounge at work and hear the news in the background covering the wedding, and thought it was today. Wow. I need to go back to sleep. LOL!

Yay Erin and Lisa!! Almost there... I'm glad you had a fabulous day Hutchets! RIU's are nice. Can't wait to see pics. I finally got my shipment of stuff I had mailed home from Maui yesterday (1 week after we shipped it). THANK GOD my real wedding dress was in the box, but my TTD is no where to be found! I'm really not upset, but I am thankful they didn't lose my dress I got married in and are wearing next weekend for our AHR. I just wonder where it is! I was planning to sell it or give it away to another bride to use for their TTD. The concierge at our hotel is looking into it. It's weird b/c everything else that we shipped home arrived, and it was all in one huge box. We dropped all of our stuff off at the concierge desk, and they had Mailboxes Etc come pick up our stuff, pack it, and ship it. So I'm thinking it just never got packed away. Hmmmm. Close call I guess! Anyone watching the Royal Wedding today? I can remember watching Princess Diana marrying Prince Charles when I was little. If I wasn't at work, I'm sure I'd be watching it all day.

WTH? Our AHR is not just some "party"!!!
greysgirl replied to deannamarie85's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We ran into a little bit of this too since we just went away the 2 of us last week. Our AHR is in less than 2 weeks, and while we have had lots of "yes" RSVPs, we had some surprising "no's"....like one of his "best friends". I think that people also don't take it as seriously since it's not technically a wedding. For us, we decided that what was important to us was our wedding on the beach, and we accepted that not everyone would be as excited about our AHR as we are. That being said, try to let other's nonchalant attitudes roll off of your back. What's most important is YOUR day, not their opinions:) Best wishes. -
Tenny- GORGEOUS!! What a great smile:) Brandy- Great photos! LOVE their work. The TTD pic of you on the boat rocks! Great AHR stuff too. That stinks about your bags, but I'm sure no one but you noticed;) Ella- Isn't it crazy how long it took to get those freaking sandals?!? I used mine for our TTD and noticed 2 rhinestones were missing from my starfish. Oh well. Ha! Laura- Love the arch decor and FI's tie! Great pic:) Teira- Beautiful pics and great review! How fun that you met up with Kiwi! Monica- I'm sorry you were sick Lady! I couldn't see your pics for some reason, but everyone said you looked gorgeous. I have no doubt:) Char- Very cool TTD shots! Welcome back:) We are back, jet-lagged, and tan....and loving it! Our wedding day couldn't have been better. We were literally hanging out by the pool right up until my hair and make-up appointments. The ceremony was so intimate and perfect. FI, whom I've never seen cry, had the biggest crocodile tears as I walked toward him. So sweet. Maui was so amazing. We decided if we lived there we'd be totally worthless b/c we just laid on the beach and by the pool for hours:) We took surfing lessons, which were SO MUCH FUN too. I'm hooked. Here are some sneak peaks thus far: One from our TTD the morning after: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?fbid=10150220074192275&set=a.402894587274.199893.319773242274&type=1&theater One our coordinator took during the ceremony: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?fbid=207780642573753&set=a.171451699539981.36096.132803223404829&type=1&theater And one from our photog: One hilarious thing happened right before our ceremony. This old man walked onto the beach in this amazing speedo....like 1980's grey with a big diagonal orange stripe across it. It was phenomenal. He clearly had had this thing since the 80's b/c it was all faded. He was proudly rocking it though. He stayed and watched our ceremony from afar. Our photog got a hilarious photo of us blurred in front with him in the background. Gotta' respect the Speedo.

Welcome back Tenny! I'm glad everything was fabulous. We leave Saturday and I'm running around like a mad woman getting all of my last minute things done! Picked up my dress this afternoon and it's awesome.....then I started thinking about how it will wrinkle when we sit in the limo on the way to the beach. And that I hope I don't sweat through the fabric if it's super hot. LOL! Bleh!

Brandy, YAY!! Welcome back. You look gorgeous and happy in those pics:) Ella, I had a friend who was married and had her daughter walk her down the aisle. It was very touching. Her daughter was 10 I think and they just held hands and walked up to meet her FI. I say go for it! FI has a ring now! Ha! I picked up his "stand in" ring that he'll wear until the ring he wants comes in....which hopefully will be right before our AHR. I've been blogged! Our photog asked me if she could use some "non-identifying" shots from my BD session to advertise for her BD marathon. I still can't believe those are me! http://www.gingerootstudios.com/jaclyn/?p=677

Meggers- Great dress and the extensions look perfect! Tris- I still can't believe all of the other household stuff you've been doing this whole time and that you've managed to stay sane! That alone deserves a congrats:) Lisa- All 3 dresses are fun!! Teira- Your bachelorette party looked like a blast. Best wishes on your trip today! Enjoy every second. Laura- Adorable dress! That's cool that it all came from the left over fabric from your dress. Best wishes today to you also! Can't wait to see pics:) I'm finally starting to feel human again after being knocked on my arse by this flu since last Tuesday. Poor FI is still sleeping in the guest suite since I'm up coughing the majority of the night. I'm starting on a steriod pack today, so I guess I won't have any problems finding the energy to finish packing, huh?!? I'm going to be running around like a mad woman..... All that we have left to do is: -pack -fill out our license info -get FI's suit pants altered in length -pick up FI's ring -get my ring rhodium plated We leave Saturday!! I can't believe how quickly it's gone by, and I'm thankful for you ladies and all of your ideas and support:)

We initally planned a DW in Mexico for our close family and friends, and after hearing lots of opinions from (mostly his) family, we chose to go get married just the two of us. Yes, family is very important to us. But what was most important, was us realizing that we were going to start our life together the way WE wanted. We are still having a big AHR 2 weeks after we return, but are so excited that it will be just us in Maui. We're still getting grief from his mother about "not being included" in the wedding, etc. One way we have chosen to deal with comments like this is to say that "we hear your opinion, and respect it, but we will make the decision that's best for the two of us." We decided to have our ceremony videotaped, and we'll show the main parts of it at our AHR. We also are going to Skype with our parents as we're getting ready. I think what it comes down to, is that you're adults. Like it or not, you will make decisions in your life that are right for you two that may not be what your parents desire. They will have to learn to respect that. Or, they can chose to be resentful. Either way, it doesn't have to be your burden to bear. Maybe ask yourselves what's more important, having a DW, or being married in front of ALL of your family? Best wishes and I'm sorry that sometimes adults forget to allow other adults to make their own decisions.

Ugh! I'm in the same boat! I have had a high fever for the last day and half, went today and got swabbed, and I have Influenza B. Bleh. I did start some Tamiflu, but I'm just going to have to sweat it out. Poor FI has been relegated to sleeping in the guest suite. We leave in 9 days and I really could do without feeling this shatty.

Sending good thoughts your way.

Nice!! I changed my first and middle names a few years ago because no one ever called me my legal first name, not even my parents. My banking was all done in my nickname, I signed legal documents in my nickname, and after Sept 11th it became an issue to fly since my signature did not match my legal name on my passport or drivers license. I'm REALLY not looking forward to all of the hassle to change my name, but am excited to have a new last name:) Great find TL!

Char, I also vote purple:) Congrats Tenny! Enjoy every moment.

Whew! Just caught up on 3 days of posts. My photographer has sent me several of my BD pics as teasers. I can't believe the magic she worked!! I love them and know FI will too;) The only bummer is that I most likely won't be able to give the book to him before Maui, but it will certainly be ready by our AHR 2 weeks after Maui. Back from Vegas in one piece...but barely. We had such a great time at my bachelorette bash. Danced our faces off, shopped, ate fabulous food, consumed some great drinks, had several A-list celeb sightings, laughed until we cried, attended a great private party thrown by some NFL players (that's football for you Canada girls), it was a blast, but exhausting....all the fun aspects of a successful girls trip. One of my girlfriends told a guys that we were sister-wives and I was the newest wife. Hilarious! Here we are, night 2 Kiwi, I hope you are feeling better and I'm bummed for you about the cancellations:( Kathyw, I'm taking my dress in a felt-feeling garment bag the bridal shop gave me. It looks a bit flimsy, but they claim it hold the shape the best and doesn't promote wrinkles. We'll see. Laura, FUN surprise!! Dave and Busters would be a great place for a fun couple's shower! Very thoughtful. Your planning thread was awesome too! Nice work. Brandy, 2 DAYS!!!! Wow. I know you'll have a fabulous time. Can't wait to see pics. Tris, Fmichelle, Mocha, and Meggers- Sorry about the sister drama. Ugh. I haven't called mine back yet either. Bleh. Or shall I say ARGH (I've been waiting to use this one! LOL) Teira, Sorry you're 2nd guessing your dress now. Try not to over-think it:) It'll look great and you'll be gorgeous. My dress you asked about is an Alice & Trixie that I found at a little boutique here in town.
