  1. Time to make room for baby! I'm selling most of my items from our Maui wedding. Great TTD, JS Boutique size 6, paid $178, worn only for our TTD. Will take $89. I bought it at Nordstrom's and only the pearl trim is available now. Very forgiving matte jersey. Beautiful Casablanca Diamond Collection A023 size 6 trumpet style gown with chic bow. Buttons up entire back. French bustle. I'm 5'8' and wore 4' heels with it. Is missing 5 buttons on bottom of gown where I had stepped on my bustle and popped the buttons off. I have 3 extra buttons though. Does also have some mild dirt on the very bottom of gown from the floor at our AHR. Would work perfect for a bride who is shorter with less tall heels:) I paid $900, will take $299. Men's white linen Murano 36X32 pants. Never worn, with tags. Drawstring, button fly. Paid $65, will take $25. Great necklace for tropical wedding (or honeymoon). Worn once. Paid $105, will take $50. Earrings worn with my wedding dress. Rhinestone with one pearl colored stone. Paid $40, will take $20. Tropical hair piece. Rhinestone and crystal with 2 flowers. Clip style. Worn once at our AHR. Paid $100, will take $59. Starfish hair pins. I wore these once on our wedding day with fresh flowers in my hair. Super cute! Paid $30 for both will take $20. Betsey Johnson Iris, purple satin open-toed heel size 10 with purple sequined & beaded flower. Wore these only for our AHR and my BD shoot. Have an occasional scuff mark from wear. Paid $180, will sell for $75. 4.25" heel with 0.75" platform. Super cute shoes! Photo props in felt: 6 mustaches, 2 red lips, 1 eye glasses. Bought on Etsy for $25, will take $10. All prices do not include shipping. I will ship to anywhere and once a sale is agreed upon, will calculate shipping. Please PM me if you have any ?s!
  2. We used Cherise and loved her! We were married in Makena Maui on Maluaka Beach. We were the only other ones on that beach (except for a sweet Speedo-wearing old couple). It was just the two of us, so I can't help that much with other venues. Cherise really does have great ideas and it awesome at staying in your budget. Have you asked her for her opinions? She really made our wedding planning easy. Best wishes!
  3. We thought it was hilarious, and our photographer moved us apart a bit so that she could get a good shot of him. We weren't actually getting married here, just taking pics prior to our ceremony. It made us both laugh. I think it's a great reminder of how you have to "go with the flow" when having a beach wedding. He, in all of his glory, was just as happy to be on that beach as we were:)
  4. Hi ladies:) I'd love to recommend the coordinator we used in April for our wedding, Cherise with The Perfect Wedding Maui. She was very prompt in her communications and was great at giving suggestions when asked while also respecting our wishes. We were quite pleased with her work, and she was relatively inexpensive (which seemed to be a rare occasion on Maui...ha!). Her facebook is: http://www.facebook.com/ThePerfectWeddingMaui and her website is: http://www.theperfectweddingmaui.com/ I was referred to Cherise through another BDW bride who had used her and was as pleased as my husband and I. Best wishes ladies and please PM me if you have any questions or I can be of any help! You'll fall in love with Maui.
  5. Hi and welcome! We were married in Maui in April and used a great coordinator named Cherise with The Perfect Wedding Maui. Here's her website: http://www.facebook.com/ThePerfectWeddingMaui http://www.theperfectweddingmaui.com/ She was fairly inexpensive and was a pleasure to work with. Best wishes!
  6. It's definitely a possibility. We were married 4/11/11 and had our AHR 4/30/11. In fact, our video was in hand from Maui 10 days after our wedding. Just ask your videographer before you sign a contract if he had put a rush on it.
  7. FUN pics Deanna! Loved your two dresses. What a cool surprise for your guests! Thanks for sharing:)
  8. I wore this great dress I found at Nordstrom's! The last pic is after we were under the water and I was glad it wasn't see-through. It cleaned beautifully and I plan to list it for sale on here soon.
  9. Mocha!! I just realized that I never replied to this! I make them up to a day in advance. They can be stored in the fridge. The recipe is this: For each large Hershey's chocoalt bar (the big ones in the candy sections), you will need one tablespoon of Crisco. Break up the individual rectangles of chocolate and put them in the microwave with the Crisco. Stir it every 30 seconds until fully melted. So. Good. I also roll my strawberries after they're coated in the chocolate in coconut and/or crushed nuts for added fun. These are a huge hit when I make them for showers and parties. I hope you enjoy
  10. Great pic! You look so gorgeous...and I love the color of those lanterns. Holy cow you look like Julianne Moore!! Greece sounds amazing. I sent you a FB request too so I can see these pics:) What a fabulous place to celebrate a Bday! I'm sorry you're also freaking out about AHR stuff. No, I don't think it's bad to not have the same centerpieces on every table...in fact, NONE of mine matched! Just go with it:) Did you get your pics from your photog?!? Erin, I'm sorry you've been sick! I also have been a complete slacker and PROMISE to get those "l-o-v-e" plates weighed and pm you before this weekend. Thanks for your patience:) I've been enjoying not doing anything wedding related....apparently a little too much;) How'd it go Meggers?!? Great idea about the vintage plates!! What about chocolate covered strawberries? I love those. And I have a SUPER easy recipe to make them if you want it!! Wow Laura, you've been a DIY queen for your AHR! Please share some pics when you can! And yes, it's so nice to unwind and relax once your AHR is over!! Which of you girls got married at Now Jade? I have a friend getting married there in November and couldn't remember which one of us April girls it was. I hope you all are having a nice day! It's 100 degrees here today.....and living in the midwest means I'm way to far from the ocean to enjoy it.
  11. Thanks for posting these links!! We just got our license from Maui yesterday, nearly 2 months after we were married, so getting all of this done tomorrow is on my agenda. Ugh.
  12. Great pics!! Loved your hair, FI's purple bow tie, the funny pics of you two in glasses, and the pic with the guy wearing the rastarian wig. LOL! You were a beautiful bride:)
  13. Hi! I was just married on Maui 4/11/11 and LOVED our coordinator. While we weren't married at Olowalu Plantation, I'm certain Cherise would work wonders. We used Cherise Shulman with The Perfect Wedding. She was super cheap ($500....which was way below what most other coordinators I contacted wanted), very responsive to my questions, and made planning our wedding from some far away really easy. I can't recommend her highly enough! She helped me pick our flowers, officiant, musician, videographer, limo service, and our beach location. We were very happy with the choices we made. Please PM me if you have any questions about her as I'd love to help. If you'd like to know about any of the other vendors I used, please PM me. I had such a great experience. You'll love Maui. It really is paradise:) Congratulations!
  14. Yes it has been quiet!! Not going to lie though, it has been nice to take a break from all things wedding. I'm glad you posted about pics because I'm starting to wonder what to do with ours. Both our Maui and home photographers gave us discs and full rights to our prints. I'm not sure how I want to display my pics. Have you seen any image wrapped pics?
  15. Congrats and welcome! I was recently married in Maui (on the beach, not at Merriman's) but would love to share any of my vendor experiences with you. i loved my whole team. Please PM me if I can be of any help. You'll love Maui....it really is paradise.
  16. Tisha and Mocha- GORGEOUS pics!! I can't remember who made the "pulling the goalie" comment but it cracked me up! My DH asked when we were going to do that the other day, and my first thought after I laughed was, "must we relate everything to sports?!?" Ha ha!! We're definitely not TTC yet. Life needs to slow down a bit first:) For those of you asking about the candy buffet, we did one for our AHR and it was super popular. We had a traditional cake as well, but it was strawberry and pineapple flavored. We also had cake balls in 3 flavors on the candy buffet. We bought little Chinese take out boxes and put stickers on them thanking our guests for coming. We had very little candy left surprisingly. Here are pics of ours:
  17. Lisa, it's so sweet! Great video:)
  18. Wow! It's all beautiful!! Great job. Your dress was stunning!
  19. Um, ME!! We decided that we could move to Maui, but we'd be huge beach bums:) Wow, yes this thread is getting busy again! I love seeing everyone's pics!! You all are some gorgeous women! Teira- Your flower looked amazing! And I LOVE that pic of your little girl and you when you're looking at her in your room. She'll love that pic forever. Lisa- Such a great video!! Your extensions ROCKED! Meggers- 2 AHR's?!? Fun! Your comment about getting depression cracked me up! And your party pics looked like a lot of fun. I nearly have a hangover from looking at them....ha! Mocha- That pic of you in the carriage is awesome! Brandy- Your TTD shots are so unique! You look gorgeous. On my end, we had our AHR last weekend and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. We had about 130 close friends/family at this local wine bar that we closed for the night, and literally shut it down at 2:15am. Our signature drink was the "Mint To Be Together Mojito". Hubs did such a great job picking out the cake. I can't remember if I'd told you girls yet or not but I had a wedding planning sob session one night to him about how I felt overwhelmed with plans, so he asked what he could do. I told him that we needed a cake, and didn't care if he iced a log!!! He picked the cake and flavors out all himself, even coordinated with our florist to have the orchids on it. He's a good boy;) We had a brunch the next morning for our guests, including some very hungover friends and family. One thing our friends and family are not is boring. HA! Our photog has already blogged about our AHR. Here you go! http://www.gingerootstudios.com/jaclyn/?p=803
  20. Hi Lees:) We were just married in Maui on April 11th, and had a lovely time. We stayed in Wailea at it was amazing. We did rent a car, though b/c you'll want to explore the island too. I'd definitely go into Paia and see Twin Falls (where we did our TTD). I also would HIGHLY recommend our planner, Cherise with The Perfect Maui Wedding. She was so great, easy to contact, very organized, and was only $500!! Here's her website: http://www.theperfectweddingmaui.com/ We also used several vendors whom she recommended and they were great. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions!
