  1. I haven't heard of them....but there are some great looking dresses on their website with low prices! I think there's a thread on here you should check out: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ts-here-36700/ The other BDW girls offer some good tips in dealing with sites like these.
  2. Here's the story of our engagement. I am so proud of his creativity! I still get teary-eyed when I tell the story:) 7:15 pm- After working 14 hours, I started on my way home for my 50 minute commute. I knew I had to get up at 04:30 and head back to the hospital. Needless to say, I was having a bit of a pity party. My FI called my cell and after some brief conversation announced that there had been a "recall" on my contacts (he's an eye doctor). He told me some story about how "we all got an email notice from Accuvue that several patients have had scarring on their corneas"...and so on. He insisted that we should "look at my eyes" that night when I got back into town, because he was flying out the next morning to go out of town last minute. I was moderately annoyed and said "Do we REALLY have to do this TONIGHT? I've been in these contacts for a year and a half without ANY problems. I'm sure I'll be fine at least until you get back." He insisted again that we go and rambled on about how he didn't want me to have any problems while he was away and be without any contact lenses. I reluctantly agreed. I arrived to my house, where he had a grilled dinner ready for me, as well as a glass of wine. I consumed both, and said probably 4 words during dinner because I was exhausted. I then showered, and we headed up to his work. 9:15pm- We get to his office, he sat me in an exam room, and took out my contacts. He looked at my eyes with his scope, then performed a visual acuity exam (what most of us think of when we think of an eye exam, with the machine and the eye chart). He kept asking me "What do you see?" To which I responded, "Nothing honey! You just took out my contacts." My patience was wearing thin... He flipped his machine a few times and asked me again, "What do you see?" This time my reply was, "A few dark lines. Honey, you know my prescription. I can't read anything." Still oblivious... Next he flipped his machine again, then turned my head and the machine about 15 degrees to the side, and asked "Well, can you read that?" And the screen behind him, in big bold letters said, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" I started crying, totally shocked and incredibly happy. He moved the machine out of our way, revealing him sitting before me with the most gorgeous ring. He whispered, "you're not supposed to cry", which made me laugh. I hugged him and said "OF COURSE I WILL!" It was my best eye exam EVER
  3. We got engaged 2 years and 2 weeks after our 1st date....but who's counting

LOL! I remember thinking "Kelly Clarkson! Como se llama!" (like from the wax scene in 40yr old Virgin). I'm glad she gave you a break, and don't worry, I sweat like it's my J-O-B when I get lasered and miss some areas with the cream. Which cream are you using, BTW? I recommend getting some EMLA cream, which is mixture of lidocaine and prilocaine (2 local anesthetics). It will numb you up quite well if you have it on for an hour prior to the procedure. Your physician should be able to call you in an script for it easily. It worked wonders for me! Well, I'm glad it went well for you and don't worry, it does get better each time I think.
  5. Working mom! I'm not sure I could take staying home, but who knows?!? If you had an infinite wedding budget, where would you have planned to go?

I always joked about my Saran Wrap panty making noises when I walked into the office (I had mine done at a plastic surgeon's office). The things we women do for beauty:) I just rolled out a big section, folded it in half, put it on against my skin in the front, then folded it up like a thong. I then would put on a panty over it to keep it in place. Definitely sexy
  7. I just got started so I'd say daydreaming about our day:) What would you do if you KNEW you'd never get caught?
  8. Ceiba Del Mar is so romantic and peaceful. I have never stayed there, but a couple of years ago spent a day there as part of a day trip. We had lunch there and it was amazing. I also am a big foodie and was quite impressed. I also remember how quaint it appeared. It was very quiet. The beach looked like it was a secluded spot of paradise. We spent most of our time sipping drinks in the pool loungers, but I wanted to never leave. Is there a big difference in price between the two resorts? I recall Ceiba del Mar being a bit pricey. On another note, I remember a gorgeous European (I assumed) woman sunbathing topless all day by the pool. I was there with a group of friends and we couldn't help giggling because one of the guys in our group kept getting busted staring. lol!
  9. LOVE your shoes!! These pics are great! My faves are the one of you guys forehead to forehead in the alley, leaning up against the brick wall, sitting on the stairs, and the one of your kiss in the bleachers. Great variety of poses!
  10. Getting laser hair removal is one of the best decisions I've made! I've had my upper lip, arm pits, bikini area, navel, and full legs done. The annoying pain is worth every bit of not being a cactus! I used to have to shave my arm pits twice a day because the "5 o clock shadow" would drive me nuts. I now shave my arm pits maybe twice a month...and the occasional hair I do regrow is fine and lighter colored. I hear that the laser doesn't work well on all skin types and hair colors. For example, my friend is a strawberry blonde and she was unable to do it. I am a brunette with moderately fair skin, so it works well on that contrast. I have had my lip done twice, my legs done 3 times, and my armpits and bikini area done 4 or 5 times (this was all a few years ago). I went in for a complete touch-up a few months ago, and won't have to again for a few years I'd bet. That being said, lasers REDUCE the hair, not REMOVE....thus you will regrow some hair. It's just so nice to not worry about shaving all the time. Plus, I was really prone to ingrowns, and nothing is more embarrassing than having a nice big ingrown hair in your bikini area ;-) I actually put lidocaine cream (numbing cream) on my armpits and bikini area before I had lasering there. I had heard how it hurt, so I went in prepared. Let me say, I sure knew where I failed to put the cream!! LOL! I agree that shopping around and negotiating is an excellent idea. A lot of med spas are willing to make deals, especially when the economy is down a bit. Plus, ask each laser place WHY their laser is superior. I had 2 friends who lasered at a different center than I,and had virtually no reduction in hair. You want to get good results when you spend that kind of money. Good luck with your search for a good laser. You'll be very happy you invested the money! BTW, I didn't burn on my face at all....but it is possible to burn your skin.
  11. I met my fiancee through a girlfriend whose brother I was sort-of dating at the time. He lived 500 miles away, so we only saw each other a few times. My fiancee had gone on a date with my friend's old roommate a few years back. It was during the NCAA men's basketball tournament, and my fiancee had told my friend he and his buddies would be watching the game at a local sports bar. She and I had gone out dancing the night before and were super hungover, so we got up around noon, ate lunch, and headed to the sports bar to watch some games. I thought he was super cute the minute I saw him, and when he showed me the Myspace page he'd created for his dog, I KNEW he was cute:) March Madness has always been a fun reminder of our beginning.
  12. We just got engaged 2 days ago, and I am so excited to now belong to this forum after all of the great things a former roommate of mine said about it! We haven't even talked yet about where or when we'll get married, but I am hoping this site is as helpful as I hear Thanks!
