What's something you saw at a wedding that made you swear...
greysgirl replied to yamille's topic in Random Thoughts
I was a BM in a wedding where the groom's father gave a speech at the rehearsal dinner in which he: A. suggested his son's "manhood" was small by saying he used to change his diapers & basically apologized to my friend (the bride) & B. asked what color the bride's panties were. I wanted to cry for her & kick him in the n*ts for everyone who had to listen to his verbal diarrhea. -

Well, I feel like she has really flaked on me...I can't get her to respond to emails or texts or phone calls or anything, and I don't know what to do. I will get a random text every few weeks that says she is soooo sorry she hasn't posted the pics...blah blah blah...and will send me the pics and other things "first thing monday morning." Then I never hear from her. Also, this is so stupid, but it just confirms her flakiness to me. She borrowed my garmin to get back to the airport for our enagement pics 1 MONTH ago. Well, I have given her my fed ex acct number and address and everything like 5 times. She keeps saying she forgets to send it, and now just won't respond to me. Like, I said, I know this is dumb to worry about, but it just seems really shady on top of everything else. Get what I am saying? And in my job (I drive about 300-400 miles everyday all over the state of Alabama), a Garmin to me is equivalent to a hair dresser not having a blow dryer! haha It is almost impossible to get around these tiny towns everyday without one. I had to go buy a new one. So, to make a long story even longer, here is the bottom line: I am spending more money on my pictures than I can even stomach. Paying her fee, her travel, her travel to NOLA for engagement pics, etc etc etc etc has gotten WAAAAY out of control. BUT it is worth it to me. However, this shadiness is scaring me to death!!!!!! What would you guys do? And she blocked me on facebook from seeing her status updates. Ok, that sounds so stalker-like, but it is true... Oh yikes! I haven't commented on this thread yet, but am considering AS so I read it frequently. I am so sorry your photog has gotten so flaky! I went to her website, and it appears to me she's unorganized. Her portfolio says a new website will be launched Jan 15th....it's the middle of May sister! I also looked at her blog and it has a post about "if you're trying to get a hold of me and I haven't answered, try again" or something like that. Eek. I'm not sure that communicates professionalism to me. I think you're perfectly justified to be nervous about her accountability. And to not return your Garmin?!? Yes, I'd be pissed too. If nothing else, she does owe it to you to respond and get that back to you. She does do good work, and your e-pics look gorgeous....I guess my advice would be for you to decide if the drama she adds is worth her work. Good luck and again, I'm sorry you have this added drama.

Any Laser Hair Removal Experiences?
greysgirl replied to rosieposie's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I had 4 or 5 treatments in that area and get only the occasional hair...thus I shave MAYBE once a month. Plus, the hair that does grow back is very fine and not dark like it was. So it's kind of funny how I won't notice any hair and then one day get a close up in the mirror of my armpit (for example) with one long thin light hair. Ha! If you do it you'll never regret it. One of the best purchases I've ever made. -

I have fairly olive skin with dark brown hair, but my body hair was always black and coarse. I was told by the laser technician that the laser picks up the difference in pigment, so it works best of clients with darker hair. I'd definitely get a consultation and patch test to see if it's worth your time, discomfort, and money. If you are a good candidate, you'll never regret going through with it! Good luck. -
What about taking a great new spin class? I definitely agree with changing up your Ipod music! Sometimes you just need a little change to kick you back into gear. Also, why not set some super short-term goals (like working out x amount of days this week or doing x amount of reps with weights) and then set some awesome reward for yourself? Hello fun honeymoon clothes or relaxing massage! Keep it up Lady, you're almost there!!

Here's mine! It's a cushion cut center stone with 2 princess cuts on either side of the halo. The band has a split shank and has pave set diamonds on both the top and sides of the bands. I love it:) -
fun times: laying on the beach

I was there this past winter for a continuing education conference for work (not much learning went on...ha!) and thought it was okay. The rooms weren't 5 star, but they were clean. I am not much of a foodie, but I wasn't terribly impressed with the food at the actual resort. The food down on the beach (I think it was called Blue Havana) was super good though...and the upstairs would be an awesome place for a reception. It's open air and has these billowy white curtains. I can't remember the name of the Frenchman's Reef lobby area bar that's open air either, but it has AMAZING views of the harbor and the hillside. That place also would be great for a reception. Very romantic:) The pools weren't that busy as everyone was always on the beach, which was nice. I thought the service was good, although you often had to go to the bar yourself as the waiters weren't servicing the beach. The snorkeling right around the beach was amazing too. One thing I would pay attention to when/if you book, is that all of your guests stay together. Frenchman's Reef is on the hill, whereas Morning Star is down the big stairway or drive. There is a shuttle service to take you between places, but that could be a bummer. It seems like the resort was fairly pricey for not being all-inclusive. But, St.Thomas is that way. It certainly is gorgeous though. I also liked the water taxi that Frenchman's provides to get you to town and back. Enjoy your planning and please PM me if you want more details, or any pics that I took of the place:)
