  8. I'm doing a cocktail hour from 7-8!!! Haven't booked it the the WC yet but will be dong that soon! I don't know what the food is like personally but i have heard they have very good food, i heard the steakhouse is a little better thu. Ok ladies, those having the private reception, are you going to select a few dishes for the guests to choose from or are you going to just have everyone choose whatever they want from the menu??? And my bridal party isn't that big it'll be about 6 BM and 5 GM and 2 RB (ring bearers).
  9. Runningbride it looks great and you look awesome in it, can't wait until it's altered, you better post pics.

  12. The restaurants are $500 for the second seating (8-11) and $1000 for the first seating (6:30 - 11) but if you do it in the other locations you have to pay a certain amount per person plus $500 for the site. I'm not doing a DJ just because there isn't going to be a lot of us and the partying has to stop at 11 so once 11 comes around we're just going to go to a club and party the rest of the night away so i'm just bringing an IPod. But if your reception is early you may want to think about renting out the club a the hotel, they let you rent it out from 8-11 for $500. And that $500 includes the bartender and DJ. If i was having dinner earlier i would probably rent the club out but my wedding is pretty late so i'm having dinner at 8. If you want you can give me your email address and i can send you a PDF i have with all this informaion about RIU extras and fees. On another note ladies, my BM dress came in today and it is FAB i ordered it from a maker in China and they did a great job. So happy with it! O and as far as doing a site visit, i wish i could but it's not in the budget. But i'm positive the hotel is as pretty as the pics show so i'm not too worried lol. As for TTD i am TOTALLY DOING IT!! lol I actually posted that link on another thread i created about Lovers Beach. That link is what made me decide to to the TTD session. I'm using Mango Productions since we cant bring outside vendors and i'm not flying down a photog from here. I'm so excited that there are more of us Riu Palace Brides! Yay!!!
  13. OMG, that is too funny!!! And they spell it the same way!!! Good thing your in VA or i would have to start asking questions lol
  14. No problem! Have they gotten back in touch with you?
  15. Yea my mom does taxes and confirmed this. She's the one that suggested we get married before the end of this year for a bigger tax return to help us with the wedding. She showed me the difference when she did our taxes this year. So I'm not just saying that to say it, I'm saying it because I KNOW we will get more money.
  16. My fiance and i have been together now 6 years. We're getting married on May 14, 2011 in Cabo San Lucas but are going to be legally getting married here in the states before the year is up and we are doing it so that we can get a bigger tax return to help go towards our wedding in Cabo. Now our actual anniversary date is going to be May 14. We also don't want to have to deal with the blood work in Mexico which is another reason we are getting married here. So we see it as just another step to making our big day in Cabo happen. Now, we're not telling anyone but our parents about our legal day here because we don't want any negative feedback, so we're keeping it to ourselves since like i said to us our wedding day to us will be in Mexico not here, what is being done here is just paperwork to make sure that our wedding in Cabo happens. Good Luck!!
  17. I was thinking about getting mugs for my guests, but not sure if it'll fit in the budget. But they are getting raffia fans during the ceremony and i ordered mini maracas that i am painting white and writing everyone's name in blue (my wedding color is Royal Blue) and their table number and tying a blue ribbon on them. They're super cute and something everyone will be able to keep, we're also going to write the wedding date on the handle.
  18. You may want to look at getting a knock off dress online. You can get a really nice one for under $500 no problem. There is even a thread about knock off dresses. You should check it out.
