  1. I got a coupon in my email today for 10% off until Sunday...if anyone is interested I will email it to them...just pm me.
  2. I will be getting married on May 3rd 2011 at the Gran Bahia in Jamaica. Our wedding colours and teal and orange and we have already sent out invitations and are starting to get our relplies back...exciting! I am also looking for aqua shoes...I have found some on the Aldo website and I am going to go to the mall this weekend to see if they have them there as I really want to see them in person and try them on before buying them.
  3. We are doing a peacock teal colour and bright orange...I was going to do aqua then was worried it wouldnt pop against the background. The bridesmaid dresses are teal and then all of our accents are orange.
  4. We are giving the OOT bags with lots of stuff like towels, mugs, luggage tags etc... If we do anything else I am going to make a donation to my friends charity as she passed away 5 years ago. This is close to my heart and its better in my opinion than giving something out that people will lose or forget about. Some other people are doing the Appelton rum which is also a cool idea...really you can do anything. At weddings I have been at they are giving out magnets now which were made of clay with sayings which was also nice.

Here is the link Picasa Web Albums - Carolyn PS you have to look this up on line and take the number with you.. Your resort won't give it to you because they want you to do their tours!! : ) But it is worth doing..!! Thanks for this info - some other people said to do it this way too and that the resort is way more expensive. I will deffintately be looking into this!!

Does anyone have any advice for this venue? I have read a lot of reviews but they are from 2-5 years ago so I don't know how relevant they are now. Is Tai Flora doing your centre pieces...I have looked at their website and it looks amazing. I was considering doing my own but when I saw that I didnt know. If you dont mind me asking how much are they quoting you to have all of that done?

  9. Wahooo...exciting about getting your photographer..and at a good rate! We are meeting with the one we love on July 5th so hopefully everything goes smoothly with that so it will another worry gone! Is $2400 everything or do you also have to pay for their accomodations? I am hoping we also get a good rate! I am putting together and order for Friday as we are going to order our mugs and get that done with. I am also going shopping this weekend to hopefully find wedding shoes...I have been busy looking but havent found anything nice and comfortable yet. We are getting the rest of the bridesmaid dresses also on July 5th when I go back home. I am thinking of ordering the chair sashes like I said but am scared that it wont be the right colour...although my fiance Mike said no big deal...haha. It seems like its now the lul before things start to get crazy so I am also doing some DIY projects. There are so many cool ones on here, but I am waiting until I get the 150 posts....Are you doing OOT bags?
  10. I am from Guelph but currently living in Peterborough as I am attending school here. I am getting married May 2011 at the Gran Bahia in Jamaica
  11. I have one to put on the first aid kits....its a sticker. Pm me and I will send it to your email addy as I dont know how to upload it here
  12. Sounds like you have gotten a lot of things in motion. We didnt send out save the dates as word travelled fast that we were getting married and in Jamaica so many people started saving before we sent out invites. Our wedding colours and teal and orange...I have been stressing out trying to find teal chair sashes but I think I have finnnally found some, however they are from Hong Kong?! Right now we have 31 people attending and we are waiting for about 20 more replies back...kind of exciting to see who is going. $1200 is an awesome rate...I thought ours was high as we only wanted to spend around 1200...hopefully it will lower for us to that so we can pick it up. As for the restaurant someone else said on here that they didnt go private and they still had the majority of it...I think they had around 40-50...something I will deffinately ask when I am close to the date...dont know if I can fathom paying $2500 extra for it but we will see! Have you heard anything about bringing a photographer as ours is saying that if we say we are bringing one he will have to get a visa (as he will be working there - for 1 day!), and that he might have to pay the resort...he said this happens at the beaches. He said to tell the resort that he is a family friend and doing it for us as our wedding gift - to get out of all of this. I have contacted our wedding planner today we will see what she says. Are there any brides on here that brough their own photographer to the Gran Bahia...did you encounter any problems

We're planning on paying the extra $2500 to have a restaurant reserved just for us (one of the other brides who got married there mentioned it). So we'll have to wait and see which ones would be available. We're also going with the middle option. Seems like the best deal since the more expensive one doesn't really have that many more perks from my understanding. We've gotten a few group rate quotes and are going to try again in August when we send out our "Save the Dates". Until then just a lot of window shopping I guess. The only other thing we're going to be booking soon is our photographer We arent doing the private restuarant as our wedding planner said that they 1/2 the restaurant and put up curtains etc so its pretty private anyways. We are still looking for a photographer...got a couple of quotes but we are shopping around still. We have our rates, 1600 for royal golden and 1500 for regular. We are allowed to drop our rate once if a lower price comes up...our travel agent said she would contact us when she found a good one to bump down to. We sent out our invites at the end of May and they have to have a $200 deposit in by August 15th as our travel agent said that right now they only book groups but starting Sept 1st they open it to the public so I thought I would get going on it. We are just starting our OOT bags...slowly but they will get done! Got all the wedding party attire now just the dads. Seems like I am really organized but I am starting everything so early as I go to school and work full time...this wedding is a breath of fresh air from the norm! Have you decided on your wedding colours and have you gotten your dress?
  14. We are putting a stainless steel water bottle with a sippy lid, pails and shovels for sand castles and a towel...the one you put over their heads and wear, were looking for a shark!
  15. Love this idea...will deffinately have to go to Michaels to get the iron on transfers...thanks for sharing!
  16. sounds like an amazing store...too bad we dont have it in Canada, might be worth a trip to the USA though!
  17. some brides got the mugs and then got clear waterproof paper from Staples or something and put that on the mugs...seems like a good idea if you cant get it from a printing company.. We are getting out mugs from 4imprint.ca so that might also be a good place to look

I think we are going with the package thats $1600..dont remember the exact name of it - but Beverly sent it to me awhile ago. We were planning on bringing fake flowers but it looks like they will be about the same for real at the resort and we dont have to worry about trucking them down. Still working on researching a restaurant...I was thinking gourmet but then our travel planner said one is over the water....things to ponder over the next couple of months. Have you gotten anything started?
