Starlitk's Planning Thread
chong replied to starlitk's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
I LOVE it. I think your OOT bags turn out great even with all the mishaps. I am thinking of doing the lanterns but just haven't found the energy and motivation to do it yet. Great Job! Chong -
Thanks! It was bit over the top for us but we really wanted something that was useful and memorable. It was about $11 per towel (including the embroidery and shipping). For our small group, we thought it was worth it. Check this website - www.TowelsOutlet.com.

I think I am doing the bridal hair for $85. I was told that this for up do's and if any of my bridesmaids wants to have up do's, this is the option they have to pick. If not, they can pick $44 shampoo and blow dry. I haven't decided on the hair style yet but might be partially up or all up. It says we have to wash our hair before coming to the salon. Is this true, anyone? they don't wash our hair???

You should check with your WC b/c I was told that you are not allow to bring your own decoration, use of mic, play your own music or make speeches, etc if you use the group reservation which is included in the wedding package. I am sure you can negotiate this but check with your WC first about the decorations. Also, you should consider having a private event if you are qualify for 20% off a private event promotion. We decided to do ours (just the reception rather than cocktail hour) due to the fact that we got 20% off. Wow. you are super organized. I was going to give everyone their OOT bag when we meet on Fri night for dinner. I might have consider doing what you did. Did you guys have cell phone? I am just trying to see how we all are going to make it through with the cell phones. I LOVE your theme - BEACH! I agree with others - you can pull off both colors. Now you have to think about the flowers... how it's all going to tie together.

Thanks. I just feel uncomfortable. Bridal Mall!!! I didn't see a list of vendor for veils. Did you actually see one at the bridal mall? I need to check it out this weekend. Thanks! Is that the shady looking place by IKEA? We need to check that place out. Did you like the cakes? Thanks! i LOVE it. I LOVE the turtle. We also have turtle picture on a lot of our stuff because turtle is awesome!!!

Did you order your brochures? Did you not have to pay for additional pictures you have to upload? I am in a panic mode bc I need to modify my order and it won't let me. I am calling first thing in the morning to VISTAPRINT and see if they can work something out for me. Ahhhh!!! Let me try to paste my bouquet link here... I hope you can see my picture. I know sometimes it's frustrating when you can't view things.

Cait713's Post Wedding Sale: Dress, lanterns, OOT stuff, etc.
chong replied to cait713's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
If still available, I am interested in lantern and lights. I am PM'ing you! Chong -
So anyone has a suggestion on where to look for veils? I guess I can start with Davids Bridal... any suggestions? I see some high end bridal salons in Houston but I am bit intimidated to go to those salons just to try veils and take pictures and walk away.

I got mine done!!! There is a promotion going for brochures till end of the month - 25 FREE brochures. I did find out that it cost $5 per picture to upload and shipping is about $11. Nobody tells you about that stuff... I guess overall it's still a great deal but really not FREE. Thanks for the inspiration! Chong

Thanks! We are very excited about our towels.

So I am about to order my FREE brochures from VISTAPRINT... I am finding out that it's not really FREE. I have to pay for $5 per picture download and shipping is like $11 for standard shipping. I guess overall it's cheaper but didn't realized that it will cost me about the money I am saving from the FREE promotion. Is this typical?

I did send our "vision" on what we thought was the best table setup. I hope we can get what we want... but until I really see the area for myself, I am not sure about our table setup. Thanks for the info! I don't like it. I hate changes and I thought I log onto a wrong forum at first. I don't have the wedding day countdown ticker...where is go? and now I cannot tell when people are getting married... I have blue and pink together! My bridesmaids dress color is blue and all the flowers are pink and white. I don't have any inspiration board together (I am too lazy). I have attached my bouquet picture that I want - pink & white combo. I am not sure if this picture will show. I am not sure how to attach pictures any more

I'm kind of concerned. Anyway I'm going back tomorrow to look at it again and take pictures- I have to make sure before I get it. I think I am the most type-A person ever. Its a good thing we're doing a destination wedding so I have less things to be in control of and micro manage to a tee. Are you looking for a dress to wear on the wedding day and for TTD? I do love the 2nd dress but you can always add the sash (that's why I love it..) to your 1st dress. I know nothing about the material so hope you find the right dress for you!

I laughed so hard but I also think it was a little message......"chill out" maybe? I'm leaving it there to remind myself that this ISN'T a NASA mission and I'm not the Commander!! LOL somedays I just have to laugh at myself.....what will we do when this is over. I did get my embroidered towels that I ordered from cotton-fruit. They look awesome! Very happy with them. Payed for the better quality towel and a little extra to increase the size of the embroidery but I love them. Will post them when I figure out how. Haha. No worries... I think we all are little bit of control freak as the date gets closer. I also ordered embroidered towels from cotton-fruit! I LOVE my towels. I folded and put a big bow around it. It's so cute! I would love to see your towels!!!

They will line the aisles as well: I want to have dried lilac running the aisles: I was originally going to do all white and green flowers but now think that there needs to be some more color. What do you think? To go along with the ones I've shown you, which do you think would work best given my adversion to too much color and wanting everything to feel antiquey and romantic? Here's one option. I would change a couple of thinsg...no branches out of the top and a gold ribbon. Also more garden green filler instead of bright green. Here's the other option: I would do those flowers as is. Let me know what you think. Thanks for the input ladies! When are you having your fitting? I think my dress will be done by end of August... I am not sure if it's too soon. I LOVE your lacy dress. Did you find shoes? I bet it's hard to find one to go with that dress I LOVE your flowers. I personally like the white flowers and the purple/blue/white flower combo. For me purple/green combo flowers are beautiful but it says FALL!!! What are you wedding colors? What look are you going for? I am all over the place with my color.. I am cracking up here bc I am giving advice to others on color when I am having problems of my own. haha. I am not having any flowers on my wedding ceremony area - except for the two hanging flowers and rose pedals that comes with the exotic gazebo package. I figure that is enough for 15 min ceremony site Great Job!!!

If that was my wedding I would have been a stress case. and you know what? THANK GOD I DID A DW!!! All the stress and stupid crap we encounter dealing with family and travel issues, Miami coordinators, Lomas, then going through the hotel staff - yes I know its hard - but my wedding in Mexico was stress free and carefree and awesome. Saturday solidified my destination wedding choice that much more. I mean, 1/2 my guests would have missed my ceremony had we been having a traditional wedding on Saturday. I only have a few pictures of the party - I'll do a review later once I get the better pix. Picasa Web Albums - Amy - Stateside Rec...
