Kelfrecks - the suit is actually a linen/cotton blend. It is light, but study enought to not be a big wrinkly mess like pure linen is. We got his lined as well for an extra 7-10 dollars I think. The material is very good for the price. There is a whole blog on here for Studio Suits purchases so I would read up on that as well. My fiance got his altered some too when we got it in so it was perfect as well as we ordered the pants 3 inches longer so we could get the hemmed. All in all it was about $160-$175 - but you cant beat that in a store unless you get something on clearance.

Diahr - we checked out Men's Wearhouse as well, but for the price to rent for the time frame we needed it (7+ days) it was actually the same as just buying the stupid thing. Really dumb in my opinion, but most places charge per day. We actually odered my fiance's suit online from SudioSuits.com. They have $99 mixed linen suits with a few different options in color. As long as you measure him properly, its a really good deal. Kelfrecks - My wedding is Feb 12th, and we are wrapping up all final payments and have chosen everything that we want. Sounds like your coordinator is a little behind. As long as you are pretty decisive on what you want, it shouldn't be a problem, but your coordinator should send you a list of several document attachments for you to look through. I would really get on her if I were you.

I almost booked Adriane and am so glad I decided against it. That is just aweful msglave! I am so glad it worked out for the best (better outcome and cheaper). I have booked Doranna for my hair so I am glad you liked her. I still cannot decide if I want to do my hair up or half up/half down. I have pretty long hair and like the way I look better with my hair down, but I am just so dang nervous about the wind. We are getting married in Feb at 2:00 PM. I'm nervous if my hair is blowing all around that I will get annoyed. Did anyone have this problem, or is the wind pretty decent?

GC - My coordinator said it would be fine to ship items. That they need to be sent to your coordinator somehow labled with your names/wedding date. The only down side is that they say they aren't responsible if it doesn't arrive. Also with customs, things can get held up - I have heard that it is BEST to include your receipts of the items you are sending with them - that it helps it get through customs faster. Just a thought....

GC2008 - I have pretty much second guessed everyting from doing a destination wedding, my dress, my shoes, the bridesmaids dresses, the decorations.....basically EVERYTHING. I think we get so wrapped up in wanting everything to be so perfect that we miss the point of the wedding. It is to celebrate two lives joining together, so all you really need if yourself and your fiance! Try not to get carried away with the "what ifs." Everytime a bride comes back and you hear how "perfect" everything was and what an amazing time they had, you realize everything will just work itself out! I know its hard, but just try to go with the flow!

I am using cancuntransfers.com as well. They are really easy to work with and will give you a discount if you just set up your wedding name under groups. It ends up being $54 for one way (two people) or $99 roundtrip (two people). This blog is soooooo quite! I used to get on every morning to see what was going on and now i'm lucky is there is even a new post! Saddddd....

I have booked William Sanchez (orignially wanted Ivan Luckie, but he was booked, so he recommeded him as they have a similar style)! He has been more than helpful and attentive and always on the ball. I really look forward to working with him. His pictures are amazing! -
For the bride who have already gotten married and used Marvin, I have a question. First did the deliver the flowers to the hotel outside and you just had someone pick them up for you? Did he charge a delivery fee? Also, I know to avoid the vendor fee you are supposed to put them on the tables yourself....but when did you have someone do this? How far in advance are the tables set up? Any recommendations would be greatly apprecaited! diahr - that is great news! I am sorry to hear about your family dilema you are in. I didn't have anything that extreme, but I do have a future sister in law, that we gave $1,000 to so that she could come, just bitch and bitch and bitch about EVERYTHING and how expensive everything is. When it is all said and done we will have paid more for her to come than she did. It's frustrating...but at the end of the day, it's your day, and all that matter and you and him.

Thanks ladies for all the great advice on the escort cards. Great idea to split them up between suitcases and have a plan B (very important). The FI thinks that I an going way overboard with all the stuff I am doing and saying I have over achievers syndrome...but hey...it's my one big day. I go to my first dress fitting today and am stoked. As a gift for my wedding, my boss came into my office and just called Continental. I was a little confused at first, but realized what he was doing. He is a frequent flyer, so he gave us 60,000 miles to upgrade to first class there and back! Wooo Hoooo!! That is awesome because now we get two bags a piece for free! With all the decorations it will be so helpful. Yikes!! You don't ever think anything like this could actually happen. Well one bad thing will happen to everyone...so hopefully you got yours out of the way and you will be smooth sailing from here. We were going to do this too but the florist down there could do exactly what I wanted for $60.....its worth $60 a table not to be stressed about it. If you are creative though (which I am 100% not) I am sure you could find something in Walmart and make it work. Best of luck! We are now at 32 guests and counting!

Ok girlies I have a question: I ordered starfish for my escort/place cards for the reception tables. Well when they showed up, I was pretty surprised they smelt fishy....OMG...they were REAL!! Ok, totally not expected but now I am wondering if Customs will accept them (if found). They are pretty small (2-3 inches) but I am not sure if it is on the prohibited list. I would be pretty screwed if I had to throw them all away. I know they say you cannot bring shells, but I am assuming that is real shells, not manufactured shells - or do they care? I baught a pretty large starfish statue from Kohls (clearly manufactured) and a big manufactured shell which I am assuming are ok. I tried to google but I couldnt find anything specific....does anyone know?

Aw, Lisa, what a great planning thread! I am so happy I am not the only girl who picked a "full blown" dress! Mine is a Maggie too! I got the Adorae. I was second guessing it after seeing all these great flowey dresses, so thanks for that little bit of inspiration! I hope you have an amazing wedding! Thanks for sharing!
