I booked with Phil Steingard yesterday! There is another bride getting married 2 days before so we can share the cost. I'm so excited. 7 months to go! Hope everyone's planning is going well. I booked my trip to Punta for March on Orbitz.com. They were alittle better than all the TA quotes. The only thing that it doesn't include was our transfers which we will get later or take a cab. I'm not too worried since I do speak spanish. I haven't had to chat with my WC, Sandra in a over a month. She answered all my questions the first month and now I'm ok.

Thanks so much ladies. I spoke to another TA who told me there were child's rates. They are still expensive but at least there is a reduced rate. THANKS AGAIN!

Does anyone know about children's rates for Majestic Elegance? I checked with my TA and she informed me there is no child' rate there. That seems strange. My niece will be almost 4 and obviously not boozing or barely eating much. That doesn't seen fair that she has to pay an adult price. Does anyone know of another way of approaching this?

Looks like the wet bar is a popular choice. I've seen so many pretty pictures in that area. I need to find the shades of sashes they hotel has. My bridesmaids are wearing buttercup color dresses and I want the sashes to be that color and not a bright yellow color. I could deal with a pale yellow.

Awesome, P&B2010. Yeah I def want to have a beautiful setup and am glad to hear the setup was great for you. How many guests did you have? I'd love to see your pictures. Was Sandra your WC? Do you have any control with the hotel to make sure guests stay near each other since it's a big resort. Not a huge issue but just wondering when everyone books their room, if I can mention they are here for a wedding and maybe put them in the same area. Who was your photographer? Did you encournter mosquitos during the reception? I've read this in previous reviews but now i'm not sure if it was Majestic Elegance or Elegance hotel. I was on a thread for the latter hotel thinking it was the Majestic Elegance. OOPS!

I booked DJ Mannia already for my March 5, 2011 wedding! All the reviews I've read are excellent so I'm glad he's booked! I'm looking at photographers now. Anyone else getting married that week? I can share Phil or Mike Steingard. I love their work! I'm having my ceremony on the beach at 5 pm and my reception is at the Wet Bar. i'm going to go with the buffet. I think their liquor packages are ridiculous being that it is an all-inclusive hotel so we are buying certain bottles of what we know people will drink and pay for a bartendar. Has anyone brought their own chair covers and sashes? Is there a cheaper solution that what the hotel offers?

I get responses from Sandra my WC at the Majestic Elegance 24 hours later which is fine by me at this point. But she does respond to me.

Pretty cool about your photographer! She's from chicago, where I'm from. I see she is in PC on March 14 which is your wedding. My wedding is the weekend before! i'm going to look into her too.

So I want to hire the Steingard's for my wedding on March 5th. Anyone else out there getting married that week? He doesn't have his Spring schedule out but did encourage me to find someone else who is getting married that week to share expenses as well as keep him busy. Boston Bride - yes the prices have changed because liquor is totally separate. Sea and See or See and Sea (can't recall the actual name) is near the Beach by the volleyballs courts? That's what my friend said who got married last May. I don't know if you remember that one?

Yeah I spoke to someone who got married last year there and he had a beach dinner and guests went to the See & Sea bar for drinks so he didn't have to get a liquor package.

I've love to hear the good and the bad to give myself the heads up at least. I'm having a private dinner and stressing over the liquor packages for open bar. It seems so expensive and let's say I picked premium, it's by the hour so $35+25%*4 (if I had a 4 hour reception) = $176. That seems steep. My WC mentioned having bottles instead. Has anyone does this? Any tips on this? Anything input is appreciated.

I'm getting married at the Majestic Elegance on March 5! MY WC told me kids are allowed but there is a section called The Elegance club that does not allow anyone under 18. My friend also went to a wedding last year there and took her 1 year old. So it's only a section not the whole hotel.

I'm getting married in Majestic Elegance on March 5, 2011 at 5pm. Did anyone have to pay a deposit? I didn't need to and it worries me alittle. Is this normal? Also, if anyone can suggest photographers and DJs for the area, it will be greatly appreciated.

Congrats! You can spend hours here researching different locations. I'm sure whatever you pick will be great. Just be aware of the rainy seasons for each location since weather is a big factor.

Has anyone got the DJ before? I guess I can create music but would like a good DJ since I love to dance. I def want to get a trio.

My fiance and i spent a few hours researching travelocity.com and expedia for package deals and got an average in my head. I also contacted a travel agent that my friend has worked with. I really like the Majestic Elegance. Has anyone ever heard or have input?

So I got engaged (yay!) recently and we want to plan a destination wedding in Punta Cana, DR. I have two friends that got married there and raved about it. They have given me inof but I'm still researching to see if there is something better or at least better looking. There are 3 hotels I'm researching, Gran Bahia Principe, Dreams, and Majestic Resort. I'm expecting about 30-40 people and would like a March 2011 wedding. I've got alot of research and am grateful to this website and friends but anything else could help too. My fiance is concerned as I am with the cost to our guests. What does an average stay of 5 or 7 days cost from the midwest like from Chicago? We've heard ranges of 800 to 1100 in the springtime.
