I made mine in San Francisco and transferred them to St Thomas without any problems. They did not melt. Just remember to put the chocolates to the fridge the moment you get to your hotel. I put my chocolats into the box, separated the layers using the bubble wrap and checked the luggage in SF. And even though once I got my luggage in St Thomas it took me 3 hours to get to the resort and it was 85F outside, nothing has happened to them.
