  1. I have included both the original script and one I revised. You can see they are very different. I submitted it to the wedding coordinator who said she would share it with the minister, so I suppose that I don't know for sure that it will be okay'd. Script-Jorge.docx Script-Jorge-revised.docx
  2. That's funny, I had asked for the script (I am doing a symbolic ceremony) and it was very religious. We were permitted to alter it (and I changed most of it) and sent it back to the coordinator who said she would send it on to the minister. Perhaps there is a difference between a civil vs symbolic ceremony?
  3. Also, I think there is a $300 cap on using Vacation Dollars for the spa - anything beyond that you need to pay for.
  4. Hi Angela, I was told by the spa that, yes you can use your vacation dollars. The cost I was given for my hair, makeup, pedicure, and manicure was about $133 US - not sure how the costs break down. You can ask your wedding coordinator to give you the contact info for the spa manager to ask specific questions.
  5. Just saw this thread. I did 1 hour of spinning and 1 hour of gravity class (strength training).

  8. I'm getting married in April of this year. My two cents - We decided not to do a room block, because it seemed to be more expensive for guests than it would be, for instance, booking a flight/hotel package. I recognized that this meant that we would have to pay more for the private events, but I just didn't feel comfortable asking people to spend more than they needed to, especially when they would be traveling all this way. That being said I didn't try to bring the rate down - I don't know if it is negotiable? It may be worth trying that avenue.
  9. Hi ladies, I am interested in booking a group excursion for my guests and I during our stay (to some of the Mayan Ruins) - does anyone know if we can reserve this in advance? Or how we go about this?
  10. Hi, I don't have any particular advice for you, but can relate to group booking stress - it is actually the only part of the process that has been stressful. For us, despite the fact that we invited about 150 people, it was a struggle to get enough people to book (10) to keep the group rate. In fact, we booked the 9th and 10 person today and it was the very last day. We came very close to losing the group rate for our guests and our $2000 deposit. Problems included that lots of people chose to travel on different days (we picked Sun-Sun with our wedding on the Friday), very inconvenient flight times (leaves our city at 615am, and then on the return from Cancun, lands at 330am! big mistake to set up the group booking before flight times were available), and that the price was ultimately only slightly cheaper than what you could find on the internet. Ultimately, our biggest problem was the travel agent herself - any "perk" that we found for our guests we found ourselves and had to push the TA on, and she was not very knowledgeable about room types, etc. If I were to do it over again, I may select a good travel agent for people to contact, but would not set up a group booking - we found it too restrictive.
  11. Yes, I've been looking for these too. They only come in size 7.5 on the website, and I am at least a 10
  12. Totally agree with you , Bride KSmith. Mochamakes3, I don't think its reasonable to expect a guest to pay more money than they have to by comparison shopping elsewhere. Esp because singles pay more anyway. If you can get MP to match rates, that's your best option.
  13. Some new info I found... http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/894364--mexico-resort-partly-closed-after-blast?bn=1
  14. My wedding coordinator is Angelika - she's been great so far. I sent her an email yesterday and received a reply today with all my questions answered. We are getting married at Bugambilia gazebo at 5, having a cocktail hour at Bugambilia garden and then Bugambilia terrace for the reception dinner (ie right now they are all in the same general location). We've also booked a violinist for the ceremony and cocktail hour.
  15. Hi there! I am getting married April 8th at Moon Palace! And from Toronto too! So far, I've booked the venue, got a travel group rate nailed down (though no one has booked yet), and sent STD cards.
  16. Here are my shoes: Summer - Low Heel Strappy Sandal by Grace Wedding Shoes As I am already 2 inches taller than my fiance, I really wanted to find a nice flat sandal. Harder than I thought!
  17. Thanks very much Cindy! I love the back too. Not sure how practical it is for an outdoor wedding, but oh well!
  18. I also have a dress with a lace overlay: Search the entire collection of Sottero & Midgley wedding gowns I love the look of lace!
  19. I am not usually partial to halter tops, but I agree the 2nd dress looks great. I also love dress #4 - so flowy looking.
  20. My first attempt at posting photos - hope this works! This is me in my Sottero & Midgley Toni dress (well, the sample anyway).
  21. I am officially a Maggie bride (well Sottero & Midgley to be exact). I just purchased my Toni. Now I just have to stop looking at other dresses!
