  1. For anyone who is interested, I have 20 eggplant (dark purple) organza sashes that I plan on reselling after the wedding (in April 2011).
  2. I got some stuff done: ordered my favours (raffia fans) and OOT bags from Oriental Trading, also order my second pair of wedding shoes (gulp). Despite my efforts to make the first pair work (like adding crystals, adding pads to the bottom of the shoes so they aren't slippery, etc) I just don't think they will work.
  3. Thanks for sharing! Too bad the coupon code doesn't work for shipping to Canada, but still a great deal.
  4. Yes, you can apply the credit to photography and videography, per my wc and the smile market website.
  5. Yes, I am just in the process of booking the videographer now for the ceremony. We decided to do it because we could use the Vacation dollars credit for it ($500) otherwise we would have passed. Not sure how good it will be.
  6. I would think that would depend on what jurisdiction you get legally married. I would think that you couldn't "post-date" anything - your legal wedding date is your legal wedding date. However, you could check with your local wedding lisencing agency. To us, we are considering our "symbolic" ceremony to be our "real" date, regardless of what is our legal date. You can celebrate whatever date you want.
  7. Have you signed the contract with them already? Once the contract is signed they tend to be less responsive. I think the typical Palace wedding contract specifically states no outside vendors.
  8. Oh well! I ended up going with the Cdn site because the American didn't have the colour I wanted (eggplant).
  9. From looking at the Palace website, it says the complimentary cake serves 35 people. Since we are having around 30-35, I figured it would be enough (plus the buffet and other desserts). The wedding coordinator sent me an email the other day asking if I wanted to upgrade the cake or not - I think she was just going through her list and figuring out what hadn't been decided on yet.
  10. The cake flavor options I was given are: vanilla, chocolate, fruits, strawberry, and lemon.
  11. Great solution! My problem is we are sticking with the complementary one-layer cake. We weren't given marble as an option.
  12. Hey everyone - what flavour did you pick for your cake? I am not sure whether to go with strawberry or vanilla.
  13. For what its worth, I waited quite a while to book locations (I was trying to be laid back about everything - one of my reasons for a DW), and ended up with the locations I wanted to. No guarantees, obviously. I would think if you push the Miami folks hard enough, they will eventually give in??
  14. mpweddingplan - no, I only received a welcome email from the onsite WC 3 months prior to my wedding date.
  15. No, my coordinator didn't mention anything about an extra cost - she just asked me for colours and said they'd make it into a centrepiece. I have seen other posts where brides have used the comp bouquet to make a bridesmaid bouquet, or to make boutonniers and corsages and they didn't mention an extra cost either.
  16. I am wondering if anyone else is getting an upgraded bouquet? And what you decided to do about the complimentary bouquet (of roses or calalillies)? For mine, MP is going to use the roses from the bouquet and make it into a centrepiece for my cake table.
