sash sharing (freecycle)
aubry replied to jaynreneewed's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I only need about 20 sashes. Anyone have fuschia, orange or teal? I'm pretty open, just going with tropical colors. If so, PM me. Otherwise, I'm going to buy some in the next few days - probably 10 fuschia, 10 orange. I'd also love a table runner or two. My wedding is July 15 2010, so I'll be glad to pass mine on when we get home. -

I have called the resort and asked for the wedding coordinator several times, and most of the time have been able to speak with Ana or Yazmin. I too had problems nailing down a date and time, so I felt that was worth the phone call! Another bride told me that you could mix menu options, for those doing the love or ultimate package. I'd love to know the petal question, too. Thanks to all of you brides answering questions and all of you sharing sites. I think I now have an addiction to this thread! I was out of touch or a few days and began having withdrawal symptoms...

The TA's can get the same rates as places like expedia. I'd definitely go with a TA.

I received some emails from Ana today! Yay!!!! However, the only outdoor reception venue is the beach. I was hoping to do some dancing with the sound system, but I'm not sure how that would work on sand, and I don't really want to pay for a dance floor. So, what have you seen done during the reception - I mean, you can only eat for so long, then what? Have any of you seen the indoor options? Also, I got the photo package list from Ana, but it did not explain how to "add-on" or up the level. Anyone know how it works? One more question for those who've been: we have several small children, and were wanting to get a ground floor room where we can put napping kids but still hang out with a group right outside the room. Would the plunge pool ocean view or plunge pool ocean front be good options? Any other options anyone could see working? Thanks!

Ursula, the rough timeline I had in mind for the 11 wedding was mani/pedi, hair & makeup in the morning, 11 ceremony, pics, then a late lunch. Then everyone could just relax until the cocktail and dinner hour. My thought was then we'd be there to be a part of it all, and our guests could hang by the pool during pictures. I guess I'll be rethinking if it's at 3, though... I guess there isn't a bad time when you think about it. Leigh, I really appreciate your thoughts! With an earlier wedding, there's more of a photographer challenge if you want them at the reception, too. I love the barefoot sandals! They were so cute in the pics!

Leigh, what a beautiful wedding! You're a lovely bride! Thanks for all your information! Were the gerberas for your BM's priced as a BM bouquet? Also, do you happen to have an itenerary from the resort activities? I'd really love to have a sample for my guests. Also, my wedding was supposed to be at 11, but now they're telling me 3. I'm worried that it will be too hot at that time of day in July - any thoughts?

Is it ok NOT to do invitations?
aubry replied to AngelaVaradero's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
So glad you posted! This is a second marriage for both of us, so we wanted to keep it informal and not have anyone feel obligated to buy gifts, etc. We sent an evite, but I've been wondering if it was terribly tacky or too informal. I'm glad to hear that not everyone does the formal invite! -
Something blue bridal heels?
aubry replied to nikkimadril's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Here are the ones I think I'm going to get: Aqua Crystal Flower Platform Heels-Sz. 5-11 - Unique Vintage - 2010 Prom Dresses, Cheap Prom Dresses A little pricey, OK a lot pricey, but I LOVE them! And, you can wear them afterward. Not low heel, though... -
Hey, Megan and Cathy! Looks like we're all three doing DRC in the next several months! How's the planning going?

Thanks for the shoe help! Yes, I chose the gazebo just so I could wear some really fun heels! Like the last girls, we could print something like Dreams 2010 or whatever.

I've been out of the loop a few days and there are so many great posts! Thanks for the review, pics, and oot bag info. This forum has been a lifesaver for me! Anyone been there lately and keep the resorts lists of activities and times? I'd love to see that to get a better idea of what happens when. Tell me if I'm crazy - I like sparkles and heels. Maybe it's to help me feel feminine after all my mom chores, but I love these heels. My mom said the nude wouldn't work for the wedding, but I'm not sure. Are they too much? Aqua Crystal Flower Platform Heels-Sz. 5-11 - Unique Vintage - 2010 Prom Dresses, Cheap Prom Dresses I'm doing the oleg cassini ct326 that's T-length in front and long in back. I wanted a shoe that will work for the "blue" in the "something old, something new..." I'm keeping things a little on the casual side, too.

Map of the Riviera Maya
aubry replied to Jackie's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Maybe I missed it, but I have lots of golfers coming to my wedding. Is there a map that shows the golf courses in relation to the resorts? -
One approach might be to go with the symbolism of the walk down the aisle and "giving away". It's your mom who has provided and cared for you - I don't know, it might seem less personally against him that way? No easy answer I guess...
