I'm contemplating using either these: RUISE - women's fashion flats sandals for sale at ALDO Shoes. or these: MANJARREZ - women's fashion flats sandals for sale at ALDO Shoes. I like the look of the second one better, but the braided strap pushes into your foot a little, so I think I might go for the first ones, since its just a single strap on the shoe and fits more comfortable, but then I just went to find the page and the double strap ones are on sale, so I really don't know! Help!!

We're getting marreid at 2PM as well, it was either that or first thing in the morning. But that way we can relax, have a drink, get pics taken and then go to the supper/reception. -

Any Gran Bahia Principe brides out there?

I don't know what to do about the chair decorations yet. I don't think they're included in the package, but I asked Beverly to see what chairs are included and she hasn't sent me anything. So I"m hoping that worse case, I can pick them up when I'm there maybe. I'm not having bridesmaids, so thats something I don't have to worry about since none of my bridesmaids are even coming. I bought my dress a few months ago, before I set a date too, ahhaa. But that is the most exciting part of planning the wedding! I'm not too worried about flowers, I want it simple, I don't want anything too crazy, so I'm also waiting to see exampes from Beverly, but on another thread there is this company that does the chair wraps and flowers and it is SUPER cheap, I'll see if I can find it again, but its much cheaper then the resort prices. I have NO IDEA what music I am going to use yet. Its stressing me out. What songs are you guys doing? Traditional or something more personal? I'm interested to hear about your music choices!!! I don't know about your travel agent, but mine actually wrote to the hotel to get price quotes, beacuse the packages aren't out yet. So you might want to see if your TA can do that for me. Mine aws great about calling the resorts, she even initially called the wedding planner for me and got the wedding packages when Beverly wasn't returning my emails. -
OH and I understand about nobody coming to your wedding. We are having my parents, muy FI's parents and tahts it. My own sisters aren't coming, my best friends, nobody. And my sister was planning a destination wedding a few years back before she practically left him at the alter, the whole flipping family was going to go. And I've been with my FI for 7 years, and nobody cares to comE? Am I that unimportant to you? Im shelling out 1500 for my BFF"s wedding as her MOH and she can't even come to my own wedding, when she had two years advance notice? She actually got MAD at me when I told her I wanted to get married in Jamaica and called me selfish. So now I'm forced to have a AHR too beacuse nobody is coming to my wedding. And secretly I don't even want to have one just to say screw you to the people that dn't care. F it makes me mad!!!!

When me and my FI were together for the first few monnths of dating, I cheated on him. Was it cheating if you ahven't had the inclusive talk? I feel like it, and he has never known and we've been together for 7 years. His family drives me crazy. I can barely stand them. His dad is sexist, his sister is lazy and a HORRIBLE mother, and his niece is the brattiest brat in the world I want to strangle her every time I talk to her. How could such a bad family have such a wonderful son? I'm lucky to have met him.

Any Gran Bahia Principe brides out there?

Hey ladies, I booked my wedding for Feb 22nd at 2PM. Our package is $2000 a person, a lot more expensive then your packages, I'm going to assume it's beacuse mine is at more of a peak time? either that or I'm totally getting ripped off. Maybe I'm the cheapest bride ever, but we're going to go with the photographer at the resort. if the pictures suck, I'm sure that our guests will have taken some nice ones. And my fiances brother is a photographer, so I KNOW they will take nice pics. I just don't want to spend $2400 on a photographer, considering the pics aren't that important to me. I want a few nice ones, but thats it, and I will probably only get one framed. I'm not a big picture girl, the memories will be more important to me. And maybe I'm being too optimistic here, but we'll look so good all dressed up I can't imagine the pictures are going to be awful. But now that I"m seeing everyone else is getting profesional ones, its making me nervous. Planning a destination wedding is easy, but a bit stressful beacuse it doesn't seem like you have too much control over very much. And the wedding planner is super bad for getting back to me. It took me a month to finally set the date, and I sent her the forms with my credit card information a month ago and I still haven't been charged. Sorry for the rant! -
I chose Gran Bahia, it was cheaper then all the other hotels. I'm flying out of Edmonton, and we are doing a week at the Bahia and a week at Couples Ocho Rios as our honeymoon. All together both weeks and flights came to $8000, It was going to be $4000 for me and my Fiance including flight, then a week at couples was $4000 not including flights. $1500 sounds so much cheaper though! I'm going to have to keep my eyes open in case the prices drop beacuse that would be great. We are only having probably 10 people come. Nobody else wanted to go to Jamaica, so I'm forced into having a Canadian reception. my sister was going to get married a few years ago in Mexico, the whole family was going, I choose Jamaica and NOBODY is coming, not even my sisters. Anyways, we picked Gran Bahia beacuse it had cheaper packages hoping that more people would be able to afford to come. Didn't work out that way, but it looks like a beautiful resort!

Just saw this article on CNN = Travel Alert For Jamaica
akua420 replied to AishaB's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I'm not worried at all, it was like drug lords and stuff and I won't be hanging out with them, and its all the way across the Island. My aunt saw this story and was freaking out, saying I'm making them travel to a danger zone for my wedding. We have JUST as much crime in Canada, so I'm not worried at all. It's not like I'im going to be hanging with sketchy ppl..... hahahahhaa -
I think I'm going for coconut, seems delicious and Jamaican, hahaha.

Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?
akua420 replied to kerrij's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I have a question about the decorations. Does it matter what package you pick to get the chair covers? And its free? Seems weird they'd give them for free, but on the forms I was sent from the WC, it showed a charge schedule for them..... I won't be able to afford $2500 on a photographer, so I'm going to have to go wit hthe resort one, and one of my guests is a photographer so I"m hoping she'll just take really nice pictures, hahaha, I know it sounds cheap but I can't see any way of fitting that huge of a number into the budget..... -

20& discount Oriental Express
akua420 replied to akua420's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I had an order with personalized pencils (with our names for the OOT bags), fans and some change holder things and with shipping it only came to $20! So I guess it depends on what you buy maybe? -
I was at Michael's today and in the $1 area they had cute massagers, they looked kind of like this: http://www.onsalechina.com/upload/23...c-Massager.jpg And they were only $1.50 each! I am going to get a bunch to put in the OOT bags! I have a wooden one from the body shop and my FI LOVES when I give him massages with it!

Oriental Express has a 20$ off coupon code right now, it works (and they ship really cheap to Canada!) It doesn't have a min purchase, so I"m looking at raffia fans, and personalized pencils to put in my OOT bags. 20% off Coupon Code: SG1086671 Expires: 4/15/2010 I was thinking of putting these in the OOT bags but I don't know how muchc ppl would use it, since its an all-inclusive resort, what do you guys think: Hibiscus Print Beach Safe Containers

Thank-you so much! Thats great! -
I'm a newbie, so forgive me is this is a dumb question. Is the photographer covered in any of the packages? I really don't want to spend $1400+ on a photographer for the day, I just want some nice wedding pictures but don't want an entire photo shoot. How did you guys do the photos? THanks for the help!!!!
-
I just found the site yesterday, but it was one of your posts actually that made google show the site! You're posts actually cemented this resort as my hotel. Good luck with everything, you will make a beautiful bride, and thanks for all the help you've given me!!! P.S. I am totally copying the hang-over kit. Cute.

I'm a Canadian newbie too! I'm planning on Feb 2011 in Jamaica, and I feel so disorganized reading the forums, it seems so many brides know EXACTLY what they want and I have no idea!
