  1. So I did end up purchasing my dress from Novelle. They seem so great! Thanks ladies for your input
  2. I've never been to either but I am getting married at the Riu Palace. They both look really nice. I have heard that the Santa Fe is a more casual/party atmosphere and the Palace is a bit quieter. The Palace is a bit more expensive. I chose the Palace because I have a wide variety of ages and thought the quieter atmosphere would be better. If you stay at the Palace and get married there, you can use the ammenities at the Santa Fe, so I figured my friends and I could go over there to party if the Palace is dead. If you get married and stay at the Santa Fe, you can not use the ammenities at the Palace.
  3. I would like to know what everyone else thinks as well! I am booking my rooms and flight separately and not going with a package deal (I found it cheaper to book rooms and flight separately). We are just requesting a group room block contract, and my wedding is on November 10th. As for flights, my TA thought that we would be able to book groups in May or June. What is everyone else's experience?
  4. Update on the shoulder strap-I went and ordered my dress yesterday. Luckily they JUST got some shoulder straps in that could be ordered (they didn't have them 2 weeks before!). So I found one that goes PERFECT with my dress, it matches the beautiful beading! It is from Alfred Sung. I love that it will be detachable so I can decide when I want to wear it!!!!!
  5. Hi ladies, I'm just starting to think about centerpieces, so I just wanted to thank everyone for all the fabulous ideas! I have some decisions to make!
  6. I've just chosen the orange and fuschia theme so thanks for all these great ideas!!!!
  7. Thanks ladies for all your fantastic ideas! I'm inspired!!!
  8. Wow that is a FABULOUS idea! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!! I think that would work!
  9. Hi ladies! I tried searching the forum for this but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know where you could purchase a shoulder strap to get added to a wedding dress? I am thinking of adding a one shoulder strap to my dress. I haven't purchased yet but it is a mermaid style with ruffles on the bottom, so I think a shoulder strap would look really cute. Any ideas? I tried looking on etsy and didn't see anything.....
  10. I haven't posted the dress yet to the Cabo dress thread because I'm trying it on this weekend and deciding! There is another November 2011 brides thread going under brides roll call (under chit chat corner). I posted it there for opinions. Let me know what you think!!! I agree, getting on top of things has been fantastic for me as well! I am deciding on the dress this weekend, and I just booked hair and makeup at Suzanne Morel's salon. She sounds fabulous!
  11. Kristi and Ashley-Love both of your dresses!!!
  12. Sorry guys that my picture is so large. How do you reduce the size? Anyways, you get an idea of what the dress I am thinking about looks like!
  13. Beautiful dress! It is similar to the one that I'm thinking of. I haven't completely decided yet, I am going to try it on again on Saturday. I also had a couple from allure that I liked, this dress is a San Patrick
  14. I think Bradley Fraser's work looks amazing and he has good rates!
  15. I agree-I picked November because I am hoping to avoid any chances of a hurricane! Joanne-No need to panic! I just chose the location and resort in early January, it is amazing what you can do in a month! Sounds like you are on track with the STDs and venue! Here in Canada, they tell us to order a wedding dress a minimum of 8 months before, I'm not sure if it is like that in Ireland! Also, if you are wanting a local photographer, I would also start looking into that as well!
  16. I just finished my STD as well and just waiting for them! I ordered boarding pass STDs (I felt that I had too much to do to make it a DIY project!). I was thinking of sending the formal invites out in April or May, so it is nice to hear that is what others are doing! Wow, both of you sound so organized!!!!
  17. That's funny-my top 3 dresses were at Novelle, Pure and Bridal debut! I think that I'm leaning towards the one at bridal debut. It's good to hear some people that have had good experiences at Novelle!
  18. Hi Frances! In discussions with my friends and family, they really wanted to keep it to around 1500 for all inclusive hotel and flights. That is why I went with the Riu Palace to keep it to about those costs. The Riu Santa Fe is also cheaper, depending on your price range. It really depends on what your guests feel are a reasonable cost! We definitely didn't want it near the 2000 dollar mark. Good luck with your planning!
  19. I don' t think I'm going to have an AHR, however it will depend on who comes to Cabo. I'm just deciding on my dress right now, has anyone bought their dress from Novelle bridal shop? It seems like a nice place!
  20. Hi Ladies! I'm also from Edmonton, getting married in Cabo San Lucas on November 10, 2011. Wanted to say hi! I'm happy there is an Edmonton thread!!
  21. Hi there! I am a November 10 bride, getting married at the Riu Palace at Cabo San Lucas! Thanks for starting this thread, it will be a great support! We didn't choose our location and resort until January, so this last month has been a whirlwind! So far I have booked the wedding date, reception location, sent out save the dates, booked a photographer and I think I have chosen my wedding dress-I will decide next week! How is everyone else going in the planning process?
  22. WOW you are so organized!!!! It took us FOREVER to decide on location and so we didn't decide until January. So the last month has been a whirlwind!
  23. That sounds good! Thanks for the lantern link!!!! I also saw you comment about the all inclusive bracelet-that's a good idea, I hope that the bridal party doesn't have to wear it!!!! Hopefully someone out there knows about that
  24. Hi Ladies! I am actually getting married at the Riu Palace, but I was snooping and I am doing something similar at the Palace-I'm having a semiprivate dinner, and then I have the disco rented. Lighting was mentioned-does anyone have some great ideas on lighting? I am trying to figure out how to decorate the disco a little bit as well!!! Any other ideas? Someone else I know got personalized cocktail napkins. I also thought to have candles.
