  1. We were in Rincon, Puerto Rico for the holidays and I absolutely loved it there. In fact, that's where we got engaged. It's relatively inexpensive to fly to PR and you don't even need a passport. I know there are other parts of PR that are supposed to be amazing as well. We just loved Rincon. Just a thought. Although I'd say the food was just alright. So maybe this doesn't help. I'm sure others are having weddings in PR on this forum.
  2. Thanks for the advice Jersey Kitten. I think for people who are having a DW at an all inclusive resort, there is no need to add snacks and water since that is all provided for free, right? Sounds like cups, mugs, etc and the bags are all very useful though. And those recovery kits. Very cute idea!
  3. Welcome to the forum and enjoy all the planning. It's addictive!
  4. This is also a source of stress for us as well. I wish we knew. We have a bunch of family we don't see often who we assume won't come but you never know. We sent our Save-the-dates out 9 months beforehand. Very early I'm sure but we wanted people to have lots of notice and start saving if they want to join us. We are going to send out our invitations about 4-5 months before the wedding and we are asking for a early response date of 2 months before the wedding. We need a final head count 30 days before the wedding and I'm assuming a lot of people will ignore our RSVP date. We are really asking for early notice from people but I figure they should have an idea far enough in advance since they have to book a flight and hotel. You certaining can ask people on your website to RSVP as soon as they know their plans and have an option for "maybe" just to get an idea. Good luck!
  5. We are arriving a few days before everyone but my parents. We just feel we have a lot of things to do before our guests arrive and I'd rather not be running around when they all get there. We'll probably meet with our coordinator and put together some last minute items for the wedding a few days before. However, if you have someone doing all of this for you, you might not need to be there so early. I suppose it depends on how much help you have. Good luck!
  6. Congratulations Tara! We actually had planned on getting married at Sunset Grill but the owner really kept raising prices on us after we had signed a contract. We were pretty unhappy with the way he was handling things so we moved our location to a new venue on the South end of the island. It's unfortunate because we really did want to get married on North beach. Oh well, I'm sure it will be beautiful. Thanks for sharing. We already have a coordinator but I'm glad to know the coordinator at Maria del Mar worked out for you.

  8. Hi Mirelle and welcome to the forum. We actual decided to do a non-resort DW in Isla Mujeres, MX in order to make things affordable to our guests. The hotel we chose is only about $65/night and their only other major costs are airfare to Cancun, transportation to the ferry and the ferry ride to the island. Once on the island, food and drinks are pretty affordable. Good luck with your planning!
  9. Awesome! Thank you!! I'll head over there some time this week. These would even make gift bags for other occasions.
  10. Those are great! I was planning to stop at the store on 22 after someone wrote something on a thread here about. I definitely need to get there one day soon. Thanks for sharing!
  11. Hi Amy! Congratulations on your engagement! Welcome to the site and enjoy all of the planning.
  12. Congratulations and welcome!
  13. What a great idea! I think right after dinner is a good time. But if cocktail hour works better, maybe you have to choose that time.
  14. An Aladin themed wedding many years ago. The bridesmaids had dresses with different bright colored sashes to match each groomsman. From the cake, to the song to every little detailed, there was Disney. A little would have been fine it was just a bit overboard. And there was a cash bar only.
  15. All of your projects came out great! I love the "I Do" on the bottom of your shoes! Very cute idea! I might have to steal that one.
  16. Congratulations Jess and welcome!
  17. That's truly unbelievable. I agree, they can travel with your guests and enjoy a vacation. But they can't possibly expect to attend the wedding. You will have to address that with these guests somehow. I don't envy your position at all. Good luck!
  18. Wow, this all looks great! You are so luck to have such a crafty friend to help out. Where did you get the pendant for the necklace? It's beautiful. I'm making my own jewelry as well and love this piece. And did you also make those photo share cards yourself? I love these! Very cute!
  19. These look great! Thanks for posting such detailed info about where you bought everything. I love the koozies!
  20. Hi Cassidy and welcome to the forum. The week after Christmas is definitely the most expensive and crowded time to head to Mexico. And you may also want to consider that some (or many) of your guests might not be able to travel around that time if they are traveling to see family for the holidays and have holiday plans. Just a thought. Regardless of what you decide, I'm sure your wedding will be fantastic.
  21. Why not try selling the first dress on oncewed.com or preownedweddingdresses.com or on here?
