  1. Thanks Karen! This is very helpful. I have a Michaels which I frequent often. Will need to check online for fancier card stock.
  2. These look great! I'm having the FI help me too! Wine sounds like a good way to entice him into helping out.
  3. Anyone else having a wedding that is not at a resort? And if so, do you mind sharing where and how you've gone about planning it? We are getting married in Isla Mujeres and are not doing a resort wedding. Not that we didn't love staying at the RIU Palace in Playa years ago. But we wanted something different.
  4. nail clippers! That's brilliant! You just answered my question that I just posted on here. I love your invites. Thanks for the helpful tips.
  5. Can people please share with me what tools you used to make the invitations. Did you use a hand held rotary cutter or a mounted one? What type of perforator did you use? And how on earth did you cut out those notches? Everyone's boarding passes on here look so great and I'd love to do them on my own. It's just seems difficult finding all the supplies. Please also share if you have any good websites for card stock. I have white card stock for the invitations but would need something for the jackets. Thanks!
  6. I'm sorry, one other question. How did you cut out those notches? did you just use scissors? I should probably post this question elsewhere.
  7. Can you tell me the exact tools you used if you don't mind? I see the rotary paper cutter. What type is that? And did you need a perforator?
  8. These look great! I am just starting to gather the materials to make our Boarding Pass invitations and am a bit overwhelmed. This is inspiring though.
  9. Congrats! Welcome to the forum.
  10. I almost went with purple and orange myself, but the BM dresses just didn't work out.
  11. Wow, I amazed at how much you can do on Vista Prints and have become addicted myself. I ordered the free brochures twice (50) to send to people who have RSVP'd. I also made RSVP postcards and a bunch of things for my niece the flower girl and my nephew the ring bearer. I will post pics when I get them. I keep buying little gifts for friends too, like a car magnet and luggage tags for a friend who is getting married next month.
  12. Hi Jenny! I too am a Jersey bride from Morris County. We did not even bother to look into a wedding in NJ. We just cannot justify the cost and would prefer to spend the money on the down payment of a house or something. We decided on Isla Mujeres because we love it there. It's accessible, affordable as far as vacations go and our friends/family all like to travel. So far, no one has given us grief about it. And while we've already had a few snafus when it comes to planning, it feels a whole lot less stressful. I think planning an expensive wedding would result in unnecessary stress and that is not the point of getting married! Check out this calculator. People in our town spend $27-$48k on weddings. It's ridiculous! Average Wedding Cost $19,581 - Wedding Budget vs Real Wedding Cost
  13. Congrats fellow Jersey bride! Enjoy all of the fun planning!
  14. Another Jersey bride!! Congrats on your engagement!
