I'm using a TA for my trip & she was able to match the prices that Vacations to Go had on their website. I like the idea of using a TA since everyone is booking through her & she just lets me know what guests I have coming!

I can't say enough great things about Vistaprint. I've been ordering my business promo items from the for the last two years & have always been completely satisfied. I placed my order for my wedding invites on a Sunday & received everything the following Friday. I was prepared to wait several weeks on them but Vistaprint was really on the ball!!

I tend to agree with everyone else on this one. Invest that $1000 on a pro. You may not want an album now but eventually, you may decide otherwise. My FI & I aren't having a wedding party either so it will just be us in the majority of the pro pics but the photography is the most important expense to me. The cake will be eaten & the bouquet will wilt but I'll have the photo memories forever! Check with your guests & see if anyone is an 'amateur' photographer. We have a close friend that shoots sporting events & wants to shoot our wedding as well just so she can get some extra experience with 'still' photography.

I totally agree with the other ladies. It's YOUR AHR & you should do what YOU want to do. Your FI needs to stand up to his parents & support you on this. Doesn't matter how many people you have coming, they're coming to support you whether it's a huge party or a simple cake & punch reception. Don't worry about what others think, stick to your guns! I'm planning to travel as light as possible myself. While I love ALL the ideas for centerpieces, etc. on here, I just don't want to have to worry about packing all of those items. I'm hoping to rely on the island's natural beauty. I am contemplating ordering chair sashes, & I'll have my reception favors, sand brushes & some OOT bags but other than that, I'm trying my hardest to keep it simple.

Here I go again with my random questions, ladies! In my many readings, I seem to have stumbled across a piece on the water in DR & that it's not safe to drink even at the resorts. Can't remember what/where I was reading but I do recall it highly recommending bottled water. Any of you past DR visitors know the answer to this?
