    Stephany, You also may want to ask your WC to send you the buffett menus. We have 36 total attending our wedding & the buffett menus are amazing. I'm sure you'll be able to find something there that will satisfy everyone. December 6th is coming up FAST, this board has been a godsend for me, I've learned soooo much from all you girls! Thanks!

    I've been struggling with where to have my reception. I love reading all the reviews and seeing the locations that the other brides used. I'm thinking that I'm just going to have to wait until I get there & tour the resort to make my final decision. This completely goes against my entire being since I'm a stickler about planning things in advance. LOL!

    The guitar trio is going to cost $250. They only play for an hour & I've asked her to split them between the ceremony & the cocktail hour. It's possible we'll have some 'quiet' time when they stop playing. I haven't seen anything on bedbugs yet & I've been scouring the TripAdvisor reviews. Hopefully someone that's stayed there before will answer this one!

    Jazzy, I'm just as challenged when it comes to writing. Our paint-your-own pottery place here has stencils that you can use & the store associates will actually help you if you're especially challenged. Check to see if someone at your store can help. They may be able to do the pencil design & you can trace over it with paint. Still DIY but with some assistance!

    Trose, I've emailed Ana about 2 dozen questions in the last few days & she's been very prompt at answering everything. Lol! It's probably my fault that she's not answering your emails because she's been busy with mine! We are booking the guitar trio for our ceremony & I was asking if they could split their time between the ceremony and the cocktail hour. She said this was fine as long as the cocktail hour was immediately after the ceremony. We're doing the ipod/speakers for the reception & she said this would be $100. On the price sheet for extras that she sent me, the Sax player is listed as $300.

    I'm using a map of the Dominican Republic as my guest book. Someone else posted the idea on another thread & I liked it so much I decided to use it too. I found an old looking map on Ebay for $19.99. Once we get back, I'll have it matted & framed so that we can hang it.

    I wasn't planning to include snacks since we are staying at an all-inclusive & my guests have access to food anytime. I am going to include some of the single-serving crystal light packs, gum, & lifesavers/mints though.

    You do have to be in the DR THREE days before you have a legal wedding ceremony. If you are planning a symbolic ceremony, it doesn't apply. Hope that helps!

    Diva, I've been checking myself & haven't seen it yet. I'm DYING to hear all about her experience with Excellence. FI found out today that a co-worker is honeymooning @ Excellence in October. I can't wait to hear his review of the place either!

    FI requested invitations that didn't 'scream' wedding & I don't have the time to do the boarding pass/passport invites that are so adorable so we settled on a 'photograph' invitation. Istock photo has millions of stock pics that you can purchase & use so I found one of a Dominican Republic beach & I'm incorporating it into several of our wedding items. (i.e., the doorhangers, thank you cards, reception cards) I ordered my invites & the enclosure card with travel details from Vistaprint.

    I threw out some kudo's to 123print last week about their lightning fast service & shipping. Finally got around to taking a pic of them. I 'stole' the idea from another BDW bride, sorry I don't remember who but I'm eternally grateful!

    Such tragic news! Sorry to hear of your loss, I'll keep you & your family in my thoughts & prayers. Of course your wedding is the last thing on your mind right now. Take the time you need to grieve & once you're ready the planning will be something you enjoy again!
