  1. I agree with everyone else. It makes sense to me if she is allowed a plus one, however she chooses to use it -- who wants to travel all that way alone? But the other two guests def don't need to be included and you shouldn't feel pressured to do so.
  2. I also tentatively am planning on getting married at Iberostar Rose Hall. I thought if I pushed it to next year (July 2011), I could have everything together by then. I've had the hardest time getting them to respond to my emails, so now I have a TA and she seems to be encountering the same problems. I checked out their reviews on Tripadvisor and was impressed. We were hoping to marry at the Suites, but the way things are going, we may have to choose a whole new place entirely. Just in case you didn't look at Tripadvsior, there's tons of pictures on there. I did get one response from the resort with some pics, pm if you want me to send them to you. Best of luck!
  3. I can't wait to see what the other brides on here say. I felt the same way and have gone back and forth about different resorts. I first thought I could just do it all myself, but quickly learned that resorts are willing to give me price quotes because I'm not a TA. So, I went to talk to a TA two weeks ago and last I heard from her, she's still waiting on the resort we think we like to get back to her. . .I like your idea about going to multiple TAs, maybe I should try that. Good luck!
  4. Voted, she's adorable, good luck!
  5. I'm going through the same dilemma. I don't want to pressure my friends to go to my wedding, but I also want to ask my closest friends because I'm so excited to have them with me. I think the other thing holding me back is whether I can have two MOHs. I have one friend who has been my bf since we were in middle school. The other person is someone I went to grad school with, lived with, and now we work together. I love them both and so I don't want to offend either of them. Plus, I think that they are both so busy with their own stuff that it would make sense for them to split the MOH duties (not that I would really give them anything -- I'm def not the bridezilla type). Anyone else have two MOHs?
  6. Your guests will be so impressed. Congratulations and enjoy it!

    Hi

Congratulations and good luck with the planning!!!
  8. Agreed, I don't think it's normal for the bride to pay for the attendants' dresses/suits. It's definitely a nice gesture, but I'm sure they would just appreciate a dress in their budget.
  9. Wow, that's it, I'm inspired! I'm signing up for VistaPrint emails. I'm so impressed with how things turned out, it all looks so professional! My DH laughed when I asked if his friends wanted hats, but I'm sure my relatives will enjoy them
  10. Welcome! Based on my own research it seemed like a lot of Mexican locations seemed to charge a fortune for the reception dinner per person, even at the all inclusive resorts. Based on that, I'm looking at Jamaica (and because I would prefer a legal ceremony in English). If you don't plan on having a ton of people coming with you, it's probably worth doing Mexico especially given your location. Otherwise, maybe look into an AI in Jamaica. Good luck.
  11. If anyone has swatches, please let me know. I'm happy to pay for shipping on Paypal and then pass them along to the next bride

So I was never so excited about wedding planning until I found this site. I was never that girl who planned her wedding from the time she was a little girl. But I have to say, seeing how creative everyone on here is has inspired me. Hopefully I will be able to do you proud. Now, if only my TA would get back to me regarding my location.
