  1. @Shoesiesluvr - I LOVE the OOT Coolers idea - BINGO!!! What type are you getting?
  2. This is interesting...I've looked at a ton of pics on BDW and I was feeling the same way. I thought it was just the feminist in me, but it seems strange to me that the ladies are spending thousands on designer gowns, wearing full wedding gowns, trains and all, on the beach, and the guys wear khaki, flip flops, and linen shirts. It's always seemed a bit imbalanced to me. If the guys wear khakis, the women should be casual (ala JCREW) as well. But it doesn't go so... So if women are willing to wear undergarments and full gowns and be warm, if not hot, what's all this concern with men's comfort? Just a thought... So i voted for tuxes! We're having an all white wedding and my FI is wearing a white tuxedo...the verdict is still out on the groomsmen...
  3. Is it just me or does it seem like there are a few folks on BDW who aren't who they say they are? You know, the people who only have 1 or 2 posts and that's to big-up a wedding planner or an online website? And here we are asking for more info...more insight...and they never respond.... Should we start "outing" folks? LOL
  4. We're having an all white wedding --- EVERYBODY (me, Fi, BM, GM and guests) are wearing white! ...with a few peacock feathers added to the theme! I've seen a lot of DW pics with pink and orange and I think it's very appropriate.

  9. 2 weeks isn't too long, but I would suggest possibly switching resorts for your honeymoon week. A lot of brides do this as to create a new, private memory - one that's different from the wedding. Think about it, most "traditional" weddings take place in one location, and the couple goes somewhere else for the honeymoon. Just a thought!
  10. This situation will not spread beyond Kingston. In fact, even for the folks in Kingston, the situation is isolated to one area of the city. My friends in Kingston tell me that things are tense, but they live far enough away from Tivoli that they feel safe - and they're right in Kingston. My WP is in Negril and says everything is cool and the amount of travelers has not changed. Trust me, Negril is quite far enough. Pack your bags, go and have a BLAST. Don't feed into the U.S. Culture of Fear!
  11. If your BMs want to throw you a shower, let them. Otherwise, don't add another thing to your lists of things to plan. Although depending upon how long your guests are staying at the DW, you could have a half-day event with just the ladies that could serve as your shower. Like you, I didn't want to seem greedy and wasn't sure how a registry would be received. I decided to register with www.honeyfund.com. Especially for those who can't attend so they can feel like they were a part of our memory. I let those who will be attending that we do not expect gifts because we consider their attendance our gift...but if they're feeling extra generous or insist, we'd much more appreciate a contribution than household goods. We have a house full of nice things already, plus things in storage - we've lived together for 3 years!! So I really like the idea of a honeymoon registry and it's fun to put together!
  12. Oh No! You're so close!!! Plus you didn't do this JUST for the wedding...you did it for YOU...and for a healthy lifestyle long after the wedding, right?! Exactly! So maybe you need to switch things up. Maybe switch up your workout routine and instead of doing something hardcore, maybe take a dance class. Oooo...how about pole dancing or belly dancing...and you can show the hubby your new moves on your honeymoon No worries...don't beat yourself...if the motivation comes in spurts that's fine too.
