  1. This question is perfect! I've never been to one so the info is really helpful.
  2. Do you guys not have common-law there? We've been together 9 years and living together for 6 so for tax purposes we're considered married. Maybe you could ask a few of your guests what they'd think of the idea. A few years ago my cousin and his wife had a town hall wedding with the plan that they'd have a big wedding a year later and a lot of people felt 'well what's the point, you've already been married a year'
  3. Two weddings sounds like it should be a lot of fun no matter where you choose!
  4. Maybe you could put something about getting to know them in the future, since they're family and you'll be seeing them long term. I got clutches for my girls off Etsy too but didn't think about a msg in them, that's a really sweet idea.
  5. Everything here is beautiful, thank you for the ideas!
  6. Ohhh that's something good to think about. Ours was booked for 7 and we got it moved to 6 but with sunset at 6:30 that's not a lot of time....but I really wanted the first time to see each other to be the walk down the aisle. But the private reveal and pictures first do sound nice.
  7. You did so much work, wow! The meet the guests page is brilliant
  8. Hitchhiker's Guide is the only book I still read in book form (all 5 in one book) because it's fun to just pick a spot randomly and start reading. Too hard on an ebook reader!
  9. Reading is my addiction lol, but wedding planning is getting in the way! I liked Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse so I read the Anita Blake series but by about the 12th book she was having sex with every guy who looked at her so I lost interest. My favourites are Time Travellers Wife - Audrey Niffenegger, Lisey's Story - Stephen King, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams, Outlander - Diana Gabaldon. And the Hunger Games series is a good one too. I've just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo now that I keep seeing so much about it on tv.
  10. My dad and I both listen to rock and aren't big dancers, so I'm thinking for something a little different we'd go with "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin
  11. Everybody's looks so good! I made mine in word similar to some I'd seen on here. Yellow is hard! Whatever looks good on the screen is not very visible when it's printed.
  12. Such a great idea! I wonder if it something like that would keep people off the chairs until we got there
  13. We'll have an ipod. I'm trying to get all the playlists in the order they need to be played, then I think we'll ask a friend to watch over it, change playlists when they need it. I'm not sure about playing music for the ceremony though.
  14. I think ours will be in the same order. Though we don't have a dj so I don't know who really controls the flow of things...
  15. Wow congrats on the baby! I've kind of hit a planning wall too...I like doing all the diy stuff but at the same time I miss having free time to just read
  16. Ooh a halloween party would be awesome! It'd be a lot more fun with a theme, you could tell people to come in costume and give a prize for the best one. I wanted ours to be on halloween since we always have a big party then anyway but it would have been too close to the wedding.
  17. These crafts are cute and hilarious! Who couldn't use a framed vampire stake?
