  1. Just got my 1st Vistaprint order in and am super impressed by the quality of everything! I wasn't planning on getting anything from Vistaprint, but after all the super sales they sent to my inbox, I had to cave! Sorry for the cell phone pics, FI is away w/ the camera. I used brochure cards for a welcome note, with a beach theme on both sides. (Thanks to the original bride Becks on BDW for most of the brilliant wording!). We got fridge magnets w/ Mr. + Mrs. Meaney on them, a pen which is not pictured, a small tote with our images on it, and a 20 page photobook of our foster doggies from the last year. The photos in the book look super high-res and really cute, should make for good coffee table fodder. The best part? $12.09 with shipping to Canada. Holy smokes. Happy planning desties! front and back of welcome cards photobook
  2. ugggh, I have such a terrible memory and realize I can't make the meeting *tear*. My gf from high school is visiting me from Wed to Sat so I'll be showing her around town. If there's a meet up round 2, make sure to let me know! xo Vancouver brides!
  3. Presents! Aww, I'm so excited, I need to talk about something giddy and exciting for a while, everything has been super stressful and exhausting lately and talk of tulle and chair bows will for sure cheer me up. My pic is in my siggy, but we could wear the same colour, or a flower or something to find each other?

There are a few other links for this frame for Canadian brides, but the price with shipping would be around $40. I'm still debating whether I should get it, or do a sand ceremony in the first place. I love the framed pic idea tho.

There are all kinds of products.... Everyone has been really amazing today! holy smokes, can I come to your wedding! lol. Your guests will be so happy, it sounds like you scored pretty big! I'm jealous! I need to get back into wedding planning, so many things to do and not a lot of time.
  6. I'm so in! Thank goodness it wasn't raining today, it's getting depressing!
  7. This is so frustrating to hear, but I'm glad your order FINALLY shipped out! The results for other brides mugs have been so nice and I feel like there aren't many options outside of discountmugs so I feel like I have to use them. Hopefully it won't take a month to go into production, I don't have that kinda time! Too bad 4imprint.ca has such huge minimums on their orders, I only need like 25.
  8. I like #2, it has more feeling to it. Very deep and romantic! The 1st one is more of a laid back classic beach logo. Can't go wrong either way though!

My total costs were probably about $30 for 30 fans with craft paper and ribbon. I was really worried about the smell too and thought I might have to rinse them out or air them on the balcony, but it's a light perfumed smell that's kinda nice! I just packed them up and am leaving them in their box until mexico. The sandalwood scent will be even fainter at an outdoor ceremony.
  10. Thanks for the compliments ladies!! They are definitely super compact and stack nicely into a little box for travel and should be SUPER functional in the sand. The quality of them was very good and they'll hold up for the day/week or as take homes if guests want. I got them from Oriental trading, but I'm sure sandalwood fans are all about the same quality and about a dollar each. These had the design painted on them and on about 8 or so the paint had also splattered onto the back which was supposed to be plain. I didn't complain to OT and feel it too much of a hassle to do a return so plain fans are a safer bet! I'll try to make up a template for future brides when I find all my craft stuff. I had to suddenly move out of my old place as they decided it would be fun to jackhammer my roof from 7am - 6pm everyday for the rest of the summer...uuuuugh. I'll keep everyone posted though. The template is a bit weird since you can't cut the piece rectangular since the fan is wider at the top than bottom. Back to planning!
  11. The last few pages of the "Moon Palace 2010 Brides" thread have been talking about the switch in promotion. Most of my guests (at Beach Palace) are staying more than 5 nights, so I hope we all get the $1500 per room but like all freebees I'm not gonna hold my breath until I'm at the hotel and they are crediting my services! Most of the ladies booked through a TA and are getting the promotion (though it says it's only for people with under 25 rooms) and the BDW brides are saying the travel agent stipulation in the fine print means that the actual travel agents don't qualify when traveling themselves, but if you book through them then you are supposed to qualify. I'm crossing my fingers for sure! Looks like an awesome promotion!
  12. Omg your FI's jaw will be on the floor! He'll probably jump your bones on the spot when you give your BD book to him! aiyiyi!
  13. thanks so much for posting ladies, I only have a few months to go and am really thinking of getting the bose sound dock. The rental will be at least 2 or 300, so I might as well spend 400 and have speakers I can keep after, or sell after the wedding. I'm worried they might be hard to carry, are they huge? I'll have to stop in at Bestbuy and check 'em out.

There were jaguars, bats, an aquarium, tons of sea turtles, snorkeling through the caves, a delicious buffet, etc. We went to part of the massive show at the end around 7pm which was a giant amphitheater that was full and it was interesting, but after walking around for the whole day we were exhausted and couldn't finish the show. Played with the tons of Bengal cats hanging out outside the gates before hopping in the taxi tho, lol. We loved it, I'll probably send a few friends there and maybe my parents for our wedding, but I'd like to do a different tour to experience new things.
  15. What a dress! All your little details really came together and the whole thing looked amazing! Can't wait to see more pics.
  16. Ooo true true, I saw 2 of those nautilus shells that some of the ladies use for their sand ceremonies there for $10 each.

  18. Omg have you girls seen the free monograms from the site that aishab posted today? they're BEAUTIFUL! I'm smitten. Here's an example:
  19. omg this is amazing, I have to redo my logo now 'cause in comparison it looks like a pile of poop! I've only done 1 DIY though so have lots of time to incorporate. Thanks SO much for posting!
  20. He's a very lucky man to have someone who loves him as much as you do!
  21. I'm having trouble sticking to a logo 'cause there are too many that are pretty and cute. I put the birds on my wedding fans for the ceremony: but I think I'd like to do kissing fish for the travel mugs! decisions decisions

Thanks Amanda! I'll hold out for a small discount so I won't be so angry when the brokerage fees come and put in an order. I'm deciding between these and an orange handled mug but after seeing your pics I'm sold. I LOVE purple and was worried it wouldn't be unisex enough, but your cups don't look to feminine at all. FI liked them too!
  23. I was thinking of doing the same thing since renting speakers is about 100/hour, yuck. I feel like we already have a lot to carry with us without adding a speaker system to the mix, but spending that much on a RENTAL churns the stomach a bit. Sounds like most people went with Bose? around $400? Anyone know if it's big or hard to carry, and do most resorts have outlets outside or do you use batteries?

  25. Finally took a couple mins last night to make a logo (by pretending I know how to use powerpoint) and decorating some sandalwood fans I got off OT for the ceremony. I'm really happy with how they turned out and the fans should come in handy at 2pm in the Mexican heat, lol. This is my first DIY, I was scared but it was lots of fun.
