  1. holy smokes that's soon! Where are you getting married? (The new layout got rid of all the good details for brides!) What kind of stuff did you do for your guests? If you're a teacher I bet you're a bit crafty. I go back to school after our wedding to be a teacher, and the craft bug hit me hard with this wedding, haha. So exciting!!!
  2. Omg how did I miss this thread! I leave next Thursday for our wedding in Mexico! BIG congrats to all the brides with upcoming weddings this month. I'm like a lot of you and still have playlists, OOT bags, etc to do. Haha, I'm too excited now to care much about tiny details! We got to marry our loveys soon!!!
  3. Thanks so much! I'm so excited to wear it, it's burning a hole in the ring box for sure!! After passing the design to my jeweler I was petrified I was going to hate the final product, or think it was too odd, but I love it! *phew, thank goodness* hahaha
  4. I have less than 2 weeks left to go and need some help! I have a TTD shoot on an early Fri morning, and the salon at Beach Palace doesn't open until 8am! I was hoping to meet the photog at 9am Do you girls know anyone/anywhere in Cancun I could get hair and/or makeup done super early in the morning?? I could try and do it myself, but it might look a bit terrible. Thanks for any advice
  5. I'm so excited, I just got my wedding ring today!!! The solitaire in the middle is my engagement ring, and then I designed the wedding ring that wraps around and got a close friend to make it. I added blue sapphires in the leaves, just for fun. 2.5 weeks until I get to wear it for real!
  6. Don't worry, you're not doing anything wrong! Sign up for their emails on their website and they'll send you coupons almost everyday. Most of them will be for 80% off magnets, invitations, etc + free pens and tshirts (you just pay the shipping, which is usually very low). Every now and then they will send you offers where everything is free, so if you have a bit of time before your wedding it is best to wait until you can get everything for free! You can put in multiple free orders as well. I did this for my photobooks, welcome cards, and fridge magnets.
  7. Afternoon Vancouver brides! Just wanted to share the awesome groupon deal with you girls for today. The deal has to be bought before midnight, but doesn't expire for a year. It's $59 for a 1 hour photo shoot in Vancouver, N. Van or W. Van, with 15 low-res images on CD and 5 - 8"x10'" Images (valued at $400). http://www.groupon.com/r/uu1901075 If anyone needs to do engagement photos or a boudoir shot this might be great for them, it's such a good deal! You can upgrade to high res photos for $225.
  8. I'm not doing a bouquet toss since I'm having a small wedding, but if I was I'd use "Single Ladies" by Beyonce for sure!
  9. I just put in "blue shoes" on ebay! It was from a seller called hongkonghappy100. This is what they sent me as the color "blue", so if you want aqua shoes, you should let the seller know, or you might just get the color I wanted I'm glad all the BDW brides like them at least, I'm not even disappointed anymore. Ha, gotta love BDW!
  10. Phew, thanks for the vote of confidence girls! Going shoe hunting again is the last thing I want to do with so little time left! I'll wear them and make sure to take a few pics for the BDW girls! Lots of love! xoxoxooo
  11. Oh hi! Congrats, these last few months are going to go by so quick for you! I know there's not too much info on Beach Palace on BDW but the Moon Palace threads are quite helpful. My wedding coordinator is very good at getting back to me, though since I was so busy, I've only been talking to her for about a month. If you ever need a question answered though, even if your wedding is far, they are pretty good at getting back to you. Just send them an email. I think since they don't have so many weddings there, like Moon Palace, they tend to have better response times. I'm so excited, I'm just working on my guest book and First Aid kits now
  12. Aww thanks, I posted the images like how I used to on BDW but they're not working. Hopefully I can fix them and get some feedback! xo
  13. The big day is less than 3 weeks away and I was so excited to be getting all my last minute packages in the mail for the wedding. My last package was my shoes that were supposed to be a darker blue (think blue sapphire) suede high heel. I wanted my shoes to be my "something blue". They sent me an aqua color and now I don't have time to send them back for replacements (plus they're out of the color I want). They're still cute, and still can be my "something blue" but it's just not what I originally envisioned. Do you think they look ok? I have a full length gown, but cute shoes are still important to me (and all of us I'm sure!). I still have a couple weeks to hunt locally, but I just want to be done with the clothing stuff for now. What do you ladies think??

I ordered 72 mugs and I got 80 and free boxes came with them! picture pictures! we want pictures! Maybe it really IS a new trend w/ no brokerage fees for Canadian brides! that's so great to hear! Mine had free boxes too, and came in exactly 3 weeks I believe. I was cutting it close though since I have less than 3 weeks to go, so it's better to order a bit early in case there are any mistakes. I'm so happy you have mugs you love! Plus 8 free ones, score!

The clear starfish came today, he's clearly been around the world a few times! I cleaned off a lot of the glue from brides hot gluing the star to the bouquet pick. Also I replaced one of the large rhinestones missing in the center, he needed a little face lift for all his upcoming weddings
  16. The birds are bound to scare someone at the wedding, but I think it's so neat. I recently kept an image of a wedding where a parrot brought the rings in. I think it all looks great together and would be such a memorable moment for the big day.
  17. We're getting married before we go to Mexico, though I'm considering Mexico my real wedding too. I've told quite a few people, as well as my parents we're getting married beforehand and not gotten much flack. People are really excited about the trip as a whole which helps, and I try to downplay the civil ceremony. Sometimes it helps if you just say you'll handle "the paperwork" before you're going down (Which IS what we're doing!).

  19. This wouldn't come up during your regular search so don't feel bad, but this thread has tons of ladies who got knock-off dresses for their TTD's. Some used them for their actual dresses too. I'm going to use my actual dress for my TTD but I'm not partial to sentimentality and don't mind dunking my dress in the ocean! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ts-here-36700/
  20. Hey girls! I know there has been almost no info on Beach Palace, but I'm getting married there next month and will be able to post more pics or answer more questions! Here are some pics from the wedding coordinator of the complimentary cake (which comes in vanilla, choc, carrot or strawberries and cream) and of the sky terrace.
  21. Haha, I know, seeing all the great deals for US brides can be frustrating since we can almost never participate. The US has free shipping for like everything, and we pay through the nose, yikes! I think this site ships to Canada. When they ask to enter your country in Checkout, Canada is listed. Large Maracas Assorted Colors Cinco de Mayo Favors & Prizes | Amols' Fiesta Party Supplies Good luck with your search!

Coupons are always a bonus too

I didn't check local retailers b/c I always find their prices high to begin with, it's really hard to compare w/ internet prices. Imprint.ca was not even a possibility since their min order was 50. I used a 20% discount coupon so I got an ok price. I was very hesitant to spend the $, but a couple hundred at the end of this whole process isn't such a big deal. I actually only needed about 15-18, but it was cheaper to get 25! I think it was $187, so it's about $10/guest. It seemed ok since they're flying all the way down to Mexico to be with us. I was SO close to picking purple w/ white writing, but was nervous the guys wouldn't use them. Blue is the safe bet (at least I got everything else in the wedding to be purple, lol). The blue has a beautiful jewel tone to it though.

  25. I've still got to make a few more of these, but I wanted a simple and light centerpiece to take to Mexico. I'm just going to set up 4 along our table, along with some white damask candles I bought. These were quite light, and not a dense glass so I'm not to worried about transporting them. Probably just stuff them with clothes, wrap 'em in a towel, and put them in a carry-on for FI so bring (since I gotta lug around a beast of a dress!). Our table linens and chair bows are plum, so I attached a ribbon to the top of the vase to tie it into the theme. Green is the accent colour. I know these centerpieces are popular with BDW brides. Cost breakdown: Vase - $4 Ribbon - $.25 2 Orchid/vase - $1.50 Floating candle - $.33 TOTAL = $6.08 per centerpiece.
