Do not use Cancun wedding photography
jackie_c replied to jdoerr23's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
I ended up using cancunstudios.com for my TTD and my sneak peak shots were great, so hopefully people don't get them confused. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/63795/ttd-teasers#post_1423110 Â Thanks jdoer23 for the heads up on the cancun wedding photo's people, I'm sorry you didn't like your shots. Your hubby better be ready for a gorgeous photo redo session for a 5 year anniversary ! Â -

Photo Canvas Coupon - Today only
jackie_c replied to jackie_c's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
I don't think the link went to the Vancouver deal! - but the photo canvas is Today's Deal for VANCOUVER. Â Â Thanks for the amazing deal wendyjd, I love photobooks! Â -
Hey girls! Â This came in the knick of time for me as I wanted a wrapped canvas for my wedding photos! Once you buy the coupon for $40, they will take $80 off your final order price. Even with big pieces the shipping was a flat rate of $14, and they expire on March of next year. Â I'm hoping to get one of those gorgeous three-panel pieces. Â They are based in Canada, but ship to Canada, US and the UK. The coupon must be bought by the end of the day. Â http://www.groupon.com/r/uu1901075

I'll have you and your sister in my thoughts Aisha. Be strong and use the strength and love of your family to help support your sister. -
hee hee Chels you're full of questions today. All the underwater pics were taken in a cenote, which are these naturally occuring sinkholes (like little pools) in the jungles in Cancun. I'm not sure if they occur elsewhere? Â The shoes are actually some cheap ones from ebay, 'cause I wanted them as my "something blue" but was on a super budget. The seller was hongkonghappy100. She sent the wrong shade of blue and I didn't have time to change them, but everyone loved them anyway! I love the last one too, it's like a dream Â

Beach Palace in Cancun???
jackie_c replied to beebumble27's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
We actually ended up arriving much earlier than most of our guest. We got in on a Thurs, and almost everyone came Mon. Our meeting w/ the wed. cood. was like an hour after we checked in though, so I scrambled to put all the photo props, chair bows, centerpieces, etc. But if I forgot anything, I'd just stop in the next day and drop it off to her. Â I left assembling OOT stuff until the DAY everyone got there, but it only took like half an hour, and me and my bro assembled them while sitting on the deck loungers and having cocktails, it was fun! I'm just a procrastinator and should have done it the day before. Â I carried all the stuff with us, it mostly fit into a huge duffel bag that we checked on the plane. The travel mugs took up so much space! I ended up smooshing all my clothes into a carry-on since all the OOT stuff was the checked bag. It was nice to be able to put my dress in the duffel and not have to lug it on the plane on the way home (though everyone treats you great 'cause you're a bride!). We only had 17 guests, so it was managable to bring everything ourselves, but anymore that 17 and I think I would've needed help from friends or family. I'm just never really ask for favors! I wanted to keep all the OOT stuff a surprise too, that might be why we decided to take everything ourselves too. Â The wedding coordinator there is amazing and can do whatever you need her to. She's quick and good at communicating, so that should make your wedding go smoothly, which is always a big comfort. Â -
Awww thx, I can't wait until our TTD pics are in! We got some gems from the big day for sure. I'm so pumped to hear about what other Vancouver b2b's are planning so I'll def try to make in on Sept 15th. As long as I get out of class on time, ahh hell, I'd skip class for wedding talk anyday. Sounds like a pretty big group of girls

Yup! You got it right for the limo. I rented one to go to Wet and Wild, and took 6 of our guests to Wet N Wild. Then our friends rented one to go to the airport and a bunch of us with close departure times hopped in. My parents also got one, and it was the 1st time they'd been in a limo, so they were so excited! Â As for the photography package, the link I posted above for the $1500 said you could spend all $1500 on "Wedding Collections", and the complimentary ceremony is not part of the collections, as far as I understand. It couldn't hurt to ask though! I asked for things that I thought for sure they'd say no, and they kept saying yes! haha, that's always nice Â
-
Most of my guests were told about the limo thing during a quick orientation at check-in. I didn't hear/know anything about using the Dollars towards a photo package though. I guess it makes sense because you can use it towards the wedding costs as long as you've picked one of the collections (Amber, Diamond, Sapphire, etc). I did a complimentary so I would not be able to use any $$ for that. Â I think if you choose to use the Dollars for the wedding, you use the whole $1500, not just a portion. I'm not sure though since this promotion is quite new. Â The limo's were nice. Just make sure to book everything as early as possible as there are a limited amount a space in tours, a limit on the amount of limo's they can send out, or passes they can sell for Wet n Wild, etc. Many people couldn't get a limo ride back to the airport as they'd booked to late, but we carpooled anyways! Â So as a tip, if you have your heart set on Swimming with Dolphins, sit down with them when you get there and book the excursion to make sure you don't miss out. Â
-
I got my guests the $1500 promotion, after a bit of a battle, and an embarrassing crying breakdown at the Vacation Planning Desk in the hotel (haha, yikes) and the only ones who used the money fully were my parents who were on excursions everyday, and the people who used the room upgrades. It was about $106/day for a room upgrade, and everyone thought it was well worth it! Well, it's all "free" so it's pretty darn hard to be disappointed! Â Most excursions are about a hundred each, though some are much cheaper. Here's a link to prices. They may change slightly but it should give you a good idea! Â Â The boys used leftover dollars to buy us about 6 bottles of wine at our last group dinner together before we left the resort, and we took limo's to quite a few places, like Wet and Wild and to the airport rather than taking shuttles or paying for cabs, and these limos seated 8 comfortably and had videos playing and great music! They were $250 (Palace Dollars) to take you 1 way, where ever you needed to go. Â If you have more questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them. I'm a Beach Palace bride, but it seems most of the Palace Resorts all run on the same rules! Â Â 1500 Vacation Dollars for your Indulgences.pdf

If you have it in the budget, go with the harpist. I just got married at Beach Palace and gave them a clearly labeled CD (ie. 1. Guest Seating, 2. Bride Entrance, etc) and they played all the songs, all the time, sort of randomly. They played portions over the vows, etc. Thankfully most of the songs were either sweet or funny, so my wedding still turned out beautiful even with the Audio issues. However, it was not what was planned and I know this could fluster other b2b's! Â Hope planning is going great! Â

Mrs. timpone - naughty girl! looks like a fun time! Â Just wanted to send out a big Congrats to all the B2B's!! September is here tomorrow and I'm sooo excited for everyone's planning to come together for the big day! Enjoy every second! xoxo

Starfish Passing Thread
jackie_c replied to becks's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I didn't have small enough rhinestones to replace the edge ones, I just wanted to make sure I replaced some of the massive ones in the middle. When you take a pic of it, you can't tell at all that the edge ones are missing. Â I used some crazy glue and used tweezers to put the rhinestones in, a few fell on the floor so it was frustrating, but worth it, haha. For the back, yes, just dab on some hot glue and stick the stick in! It held up to Cancun and back for me w/ no problems and didn't need to be babied, but I didn't know how it would travel by mail. Â Here's a photo I took of it right before I sent it off. Notice you can't see the rhinestone gaps? Â -
lol, yes! If DH wasn't half Filipino then our almost 15 year age gap would look veeeery strange! Hopefully my half Filipino side will keep the wrinkles at Bay too Â

Hey girls! I'm looking forward to the meetup, but just wanted to let you all know I'm putting up all my photo table accessories for sale. I made 3 different mustaches on wooden sticks using sculpt and bake clay that turned out really funny too. I'd recommend re-gluing them onto the sticks pre-wedding though to be safe! Â Everything for $15. Â It was so much fun! https://post.craigslist.org/manage/1925800455/hsu52 Â

Beach Palace????
jackie_c replied to Carly9495's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hey Kristie (and other b2b's)! Â I posted a bunch of my personal hotel photos and some of my wedding photos on the other Beach Palace thread here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/26661/beach-palace-in-cancun/130#post_1415113 Â There was so little info and pics on BP so you might be interested! We got married on the Sky Terrace and did a complimentary wedding. -
Beach Palace in Cancun???
jackie_c replied to beebumble27's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
I'm fortunate and my big brother who has been a hobby photographer for the last 3 years came to my wedding and was able to do some shots of the ceremony. I'm not one to pine over pictures so I didn't want getting ready shots, and the other traditional stuff! Actually, I didn't get my dress on until 5 mins to the ceremony, haha. My back-up would have been to get a small photo package from the hotel, but only b/c I wanted to keep my budget really small. From what I've seen, there the classic posed shots, you're bound to get a few you love b/c the setting is stunning but if I had the choice and/or the money I'd get an outside photographer to be safe.  Some people have gotten away with getting them a day pass ($86) while others had to buy 1 or 2 nights stay, depending on their wedding circumstances. At least that's what the Moon Palace brides say!  I bought my chair bows from: http://www.weddinglinensdirect.com/ If you do a quick search for chair bows on BDW though, you'll find a couple more well recommended sites from other brides.  Feel free to ask me any specific questions, I'm not sure how much generic info to share! Here are a couple of our wedding pics and some of the sky terrace set-up for our wedding. If you want more pics of something specific, please ask and I'll see what I can come up with!  This last one has the lagoon side in the back, so don't let anyone tell you it's ugly. It's gorgeous!  Quote: Originally Posted by AshleyNicole I'm really interested in hearing about your photog selection as well. I'm set for 9/10/11 @ BP.
