  1. I'm like a lot of brides on this thread who wanted to keep her budget as low as possible. I love ALL dresses, so keeping costs down for the wedding dress allowed me to keep buying beautiful casual dresses (and shoes, and bags!) after the big day, haha. I'm also glad I went with a fancier style even though I thought I'd be in a simple, flowy dress on the beach, but we all seem to change our minds once our turn comes I haven't posted my dress in classifieds yet, but am planning on selling for $350 + shipping for those other brides on this thread looking for inexpensive dresses for the big day or TTD session. There are a bunch of pics in my siggy, just PM me if you're interested. I'm about a size 4, 33-27-35, but it's strapless sweetheart neckline so it fits a lot of body types.
  2. I have some great things to post for other b2b's, but am having problems attached pictures in the classified section. I did a thorough search on this topic and couldn't find anything. - I've tried clicking the "Add photos" at the bottom left corner, but the files always have a little red x by them when they upload. I tried sizing them to be very small, tried jpg.'s, gif's, png's, with no luck. - Also there is not an "Insert Image" icon in the toolbar when posting in classifieds Can anyone help??
  3. Sorry, having trouble uploading pictures. Let's try that one again!
  4. Hey girls! For sale is a lingerie set from Pleasure State (my favorite brand). You can see some of their stuff at www.pleasurestate.com It's a underwire camisole in ivory and the matching garter belt, style name is "Kiyoshi". I'm selling for $70obo + shipping. I think shipping within Canada is about $15, and to the USA is about $20 but I'd have to check. I got them at a local sample sale for a friend, but she doesn't need anymore lingerie. These have not been tried on and are brand new with tags. The top is a 34B and garter belt is a size S. The sets usually retail for $200+
  5. Hi b2b, sorry I missed your question, I haven't logged on much since my big day, but I totally miss all the girls and the pictures. I was prepared for my dress to be "trashed" but as was the case with a lot of other brides, my dress ended up in perfect condition afterwards. Actually, it was in even better condition because it was so clean after the shoot, and it had a dirty train before that. The only thing I broke was the tiny hook at the top of the zipper at the back when my husband tried to lift me out of the water. It was only made of a stitch of thread, so it was an easy fix I always found the "keeping it for grandkids" thing a bit odd, as I would not want to have had to wear my mom's dress, or had to hurt her feelings telling her I didn't want to. Plus there is something special about going dress shopping, and finding "the one" with your family or girlfriends. I guess it's a beautiful sentiment though.
  6. Thanks everybody! I haven't seen these pics in a while, it's so nice to look back! So funny that you mention liking my hair and shoes, 'cause both were mistakes that just worked out in the end. My hair was especially disasterous about 2 hours before the wedding, I had a bad 80's prom thing going on, hahaha.
  7. Thank you! They turned out gorgeous, and they were free which is always a bonus. You can find them under "Rack Cards" and the beach design was just one of their templates. I arranged the words so the footprints in the sand showed up nicer.
  8. Thank you! They were a random last minute purchase from ebay. The seller was called hongkonghappy100 but they don't seem to have items for sale anymore
  9. Just play around with the site, I'm sure you'll figure it out! Usually there are upload links which are well placed on their webpage!
  10. Thanks ladies! We shot mostly at Cenote Azul Blue - it was gorgeous and there were so many types of backdrops!
  11. I just used whatever the standard shipping option was on Discountmugs.com. There wasn't an option for who you wanted to use as a shipper when I put my order in. I remember not having to sign for the package (which UPS always makes you do) so I guess it was USPS who shipped them!
  12. Yes I did! It took some trial and error and I used up all my blue ink, haha. It was a LOT of cutting, but our guests really loved them. Definitely do a test page w/ regular paper in black and white, before you go ahead with the craft paper to get all your dimensions and placing right. I wasted a lot of craft paper making boo-boos!
  13. Have you thought about using the etsy alchemy option? You post a description of what you want (type of flowers, colours, etc) and the general price you would like to pay, and then have etsy sellers bid on the opportunity to make it for you. It may connect you with a new seller you like, and someone who will give you your dream bouquet for the price you want. Good luck with your search!
  14. Thanks! My shoes were a last minute purchase from ebay, but the seller hongkonghappy100 doesn't have any items up for sale anymore. I'm not sure if they suddenly decided to stop selling or something? I was just doing random searches for "blue pumps" "blue open-toed" "blue peep-toe" until I found what I wanted. Ebay is nice since if you don't like them, you've usually only spent $40 in the first place on the item! Â
  15. Thank you! They turned out better than I had hoped, I just didn't know what to expect! I'm the sort that usually gets pretty nervous in front of the lens, but that day was so nice and our photogs were so sweet. Â We went to Cenote Azul. I know Ivan Luckie had posted all the good Cenotes on a thread on BDW, so maybe do a search of "Best TTD Spot in Cancun" or something, and his list will pop up. It was so beautiful, and I really liked that each sink-hole had it's own look, so that the pics looked like different locations. They're all side by side though. The negative part is that there were LOTS of public swimmers, and some are in my nicest shots! Â we did the beach 1st, and they tried to keep us pretty dry. Our bottom thirds were pretty wet, and a wave splashed me in the head, haha. Their SUV was leather and they didn't care if we got it wet or sandy! We drove about an hour and a half or so to the cenote. I didn't mind being in wet gear, the heat/humidity in Mexico dries things off quite quickly too. I also had worn a swimsuit bottom under my dress, which worked well. We put our wet stuff in a garbage bag after the cenote and wore dry clothes home Â
  16. Hey girls! Â No blisters or raw spots at all. I think open toes are always a bit more forgiving. It's like any pair of shoes you buy though, some are great and others will give you blisters no matter how much you love 'em! I bought these from ebay called hongkonghappy100 for something like $37 with shipping if you're interested!
  17. Aww nuts, the photos don't wanna show up! Here's a link to our slideshow if you're still interested! Â http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh148/jcepcion/Trash%20the%20Dress/?albumview=slideshow
  18. Our TTD pics are finally in and we're so happy with how they turned out! We used Cancun Studios and shot at a public beach and a public cenote with the amazing and talented Agustin and his wife Jill. If you're thinking about a TTD, go for it. It's SO much fun, and when else in your life can you rock out in a gorgeous dress, wind in your hair and crashing waves behind?! Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

  20. Thanks for the help girls! They were a HUGE hit, people still talk about them and comment on them now. They were lots of fun to wear for me. Â Magirl, if sapphire is what you want I say go for it! There are so many beautifully styled shoes, I'm sure they'll compensate for the heaviness of the color. There are a lot of beautiful Nina's and TONS of gorgeous others in sapphire blue! You might want to veer away from rhinestones and buckles though so the lace of your dress doesn't get caught.
  21. If you can't find the info you need, I'd read through a few reviews of Chitchen Itza on trip advisor for advice on the tour companies they used: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g150808-d153407-Reviews-Chichen_Itza_Ruins-Chichen_Itza_Yucatan_Peninsula.html  I used Best Day Travel for my airport transfers, and they were quite good. If you'd like info on pricing it's found here: http://www.bestday.com/Cancun/Tours/Archaeological-Sites/?asoc=adtc  and if you click on "More Info" you can request group rates as well.
  22. Thx Dilara!! I love the 1st pic too! It was about to rain so we got those gorgeous clouds in all our shots, but it was still sunny. Running in heels was so easy, maybe because the heel anchors you into the sand? It was more comfy than wearing flip flips in the sand! Maybe I'm just a weirdo :S
  23. Dilara - The eggplant organza chair bows are supposed to be available next week: http://www.weddinglinensdirect.com/8xorsaeg.html  I used plum - 20 bows + 3 table runners all fit into a thin manila envelope so they were super easy to pack and bring down to Mexico. Here's how mine photographed, no steaming, no ironing, straight out of package.
