I was going to do more traditional vases with larger bottom that narrows toward the top and just dress it up with a ribbon in your wedding colours. How did you deal the top afterwards? A special glue? And did you bring it on the plane for the ride home? I'd love to check mine, but the sand will probably get all messed up.
  2. Do you say the sand ceremony, THEN play the song while you pour the sand? I'd like to use Sea of Love by Cat Power.
  3. Omg congrats!!! I'm sure you're still staring at your ring at all hours of the day. You must have so many ideas already!

Aww nuts, I was excited and told my guests, but they shouldn't be too disappointed if we don't get them. It would be a nice perk tho. The palace site said it was not for "Famtrips, Travel Agent, employee rates, Complimentary, Incentive or Compensatory stays." Whats a Famtrip, do weddings count? I also think most brides used TA's and they seem to be getting the free tours. Fingers crossed I guess.

  6. christinak - what beautiful detailing they did on your BM's dresses! Love the flowy flirtyness of them too.
  7. I thought invitations would be silly since I correspond with everyone so much through email, phone and in person. I'm just going to save the money for cute welcome cards, passports or guest gifts. Man I wish cardstock wasn't so expensive, lol.
  8. sooo cute! I love the numbers in the sand, gives me feeling of nostalgia for some reason.
  9. Congrats, all the Dreams are soo beautiful, gonna be such a stunning wedding! Welcome to BDW!

Might be worth it to check your local Michael's if you're considering getting one. oh wait, those sneeky people said the cricut is not included in the sale. Still a great time to get all your goodies though.

I had no idea and was stressing over cost 'cause I wanted to do excursions w/ my guest but was hoping to cover the costs of at least one (which can be horribly expensive for a wedding group!). We're all staying at least 3 nights too! This is just what I needed, I've been stressed/downer for the last 2 days over wedding stuff. THANK YOU! I thought since we were booking through a discount website we wouldn't qualify, so this is killer news.
  12. yuck, no diet stuff for me Red Bull?
  13. Do you ladies know if the tables are round or rectangular for private dinners/receptions? Do they usually seat 10/table or is that just how pricing is? I'm trying to figure out how many centerpieces to buy/bring.

You can get different flavors for different tiers too if you're going with a larger cake.
  15. I planned a 2pm in Mexico in Aug and expect it to be blazing hot. You only have to stick it out for 20 mins, and I did buy sandlewood fans for my guest (cheap for OT) which should be appreciated. I'd move it to a cooler time but I think it's nice to be able to enjoy breakfast and not have to get up at the crack of dawn for a marathon of spa services. Just easy and relaxed for your big day.
  16. Yah I totally wanted to do a funny props photo table but am worried about the cost. I think I still might go for it. Polaroid cameras have been easy to find, but the film is so rare and horribly expensive. Fujifilm also does a cute instant photo version that's cheaper and prints out business card sized photos.
  17. omg so beautiful. It looks like a free form dress so I wouldn't worry too much about it being a perfect fit. What a sexy legs dress!!
  18. welcome to BDW! There's so much info and great weddings in punta cana I'm sure you'll fall in love with one of them! Congrats on the engagement.
  19. Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll find a place soon and just make sure to enjoy your engagement until then

  21. Do you have to do anything special to get the free tours or just ask? Are you ladies getting the tours AND the free wedding stuff if you book enough room nights?
  22. So gorgeous! Would you be willing to send me the template for the matchbooks? I'm still a noob I'm thinking of doing a cigar table, but your after dinner mint is so brilliant too. Ahh BDW gives you so many ideas it's hard not to want to do EVERYTHING!
  23. Lots of people do the legal part at home and then a symbolic at their DW. Often symbolic wedding will have a 'fake signing' of a contract that means absolutely nothing during the usual signing part. It's way shorter, looks great for those who won't know you're doing the legal part at home, and may be a great place to sneak your song in.

I'll check out 4imprint. Not having much choices in Canada is super frustrating. I did an order from Oriental Trading which went well but shipping was like 3X as much as the states. oh well!
