Hello to all you wonderful May 2010 brides! I am getting married May 21st, 2010 at the Moon Palace in Cancun Mexico! I just came across this site not to long ago....oh how i wish I would have found this sooner!

We are going to wait till after we return to give our parents gifts. We are going to make them albums with our wedding pictures. My best friend is a wedding photographer so she is going to do ours...but you could do one on Snapfish.com and still look really nice.

I'm having a really hard time deciding on what flowers I want... Has anyone upgraded their bouquet though the MP? I'm thinking about using the free on for my maid of honor (my sister) and using what i would have paid for hers, to upgrade mine. Any thoughts? I have a hard time trying to decide from just pictures!!

Wonderful review!!!!! I'm getting so close, so this review just makes me even more happy about chosing the MP!!! I have a question about your flowers. We are also talking about taking our, I am worried about the color pink they have not matching everything else we are taking with us. My aunt does flowers, so it works out perfect to take our own. My question is...where did you get the little starfish that is in your flowers? I love that and I would like to find one to use in mine!!!

I had a friend get married at the Moon Palace about 5 years ago, so I knew what gazebo I didn't want. She had the one that has the glass around it. So I emailed my WC and asked her to check and see what loacation we were placed at. She gave me the option of 2 gazebos and we chose the Tuscan gazebo. I would just ask your WC where she has you placed right now. Good luck and happy planning!!!!

I'm so excited I just had to share my fun! We have been working hard on our OOT bags and just got our Koozies ordered this weekend!! We got the great idea from someone else on here and they say, "To Have and To Hold, To Keep My Beer Cold." I know everyone is going to get a kick out of them!!!! Anyone have any other good ideas or finds for OOT bags they would like to share?

alyssa2010: As soon as I put on my dress....I felt like a princess! I was holding my head a little higher and didn't want to take it off! It was also the only dress I walked out in and my mom burst into tears. When you try on the "perfect" dress you will just know! Keep your options open...my dress is exact opposite of what I went into the dress process looking for. Good luck in your dress shopping!

I know this post is old...but was wondering how you got all the stuff from Vista Print for free? Did you have all that suff for each bag?

All my guests have taken the news really well. I'm the only one that had a major freak out moment. Everyone just kept reminding me that this was a planned murder......it was not a random act of violence. The man that did it is now in jail (in the US)…so no one is on the lose. I read in the news this morning, they were all ready having marriage problems and she met him down there with the kids to try and “fix†their problems. The whole thing sounds very premeditated to me. It would be different and I would be getting the heck out of there if it were an employee or someone who was a part of the drug rings going on right now. I did talk with my travel agent yesterday as soon as I saw the news about going to a different Palace resort, and she said that was possible if we wanted to. So if you are really worried about it, you might look into that. We decided we are just going to stay at the Moon Palace. My travel agent made a good point, the only reason you heard about this one, was because of who he is. I would try not to worry about it to much (I know it’s hard). It sucks……..it has put a little stress on all of us…..but there isn’t to much we can do about it.

I had a little bit of a freak out reading about the murder on Foxnews...but I'm better now! I talked with my TA about it, and she said the only reason you heard about this one, was because of who he is. She said she has heard of murders several times at other big resorts. This was isolated and that is the only good news out of the whole situation. I don’t think any of us have anything to worry about….but it’s still a little nerve racking! So I am going to try not to think about it, and try to turn that stress into thoughts and prayers for the family of the lady who was murdered.

What is everyone's recommendation for dinner the night of the wedding? We have a small group going down (only 13 people) and were just wondering what the best place to eat is. Any suggestions? We have a few kids going down with us, and our Travel Agent suggested the Sunrise side of the resort. I am not 100% sure on that yet, only because I have heard it is louder than the other sides. Has anyone stayed on the sunrise side and had any problems? My wedding date and is getting closer, and I am very relaxed about everything. My WC even told me not to worry about anything and we will take care of all the details once we get down there. Finding this site has also played a big role in me being able to relax and not stress about everything!

Does anyone have any recommendations on what is the best area to stay in at the Moon Palace? I had my first wedding set-back and oh man have I been stressed over the weekend. I found a wonderful light weight wedding dress with a beautiful organza layer over the top of it from David's Bridal. I went for my final dress fitting on Friday night and once I got the dress on I started noticing all these little snags in the dress. They were all over, and there was even a hole in the back of the dress! I couldn’t believe it! They told me that they had this problem with this dress a few other times, and that I could pick out a new dress. I decided I didn’t want to get another dress from them; I don’t have time for them to mess up another dress. We leave May 17th! So we asked for our money back, and with no questions asked, they refunded us everything. So now with only about 6 weeks to go, we start the search for another dress. We called a small privately owned Bridal Store (we are going there tonight) and they said having something done by May wouldn’t be a problem. I have never had any problems with David’s with any of the bridesmaid dresses I have gotten from them….but never again would I recommend them to anyone!
