  1. Actually, the jungle restaurant is the other side of the resort on the main stretch of beach. The wedding gazebo is in the far corner of the resort opposite Building 7/ the preferred pool. In regards to getting married on the main beach I would certainly advise against it. Having seen several here in 2010, there was zero privacy, and many (speedo-clad) guests had no concept of what was acceptable personal space.
  2. Hello ladies, Just a quick question if anyone's still out there, as I am slowly being driven INSANE in the quest to get my wedding date confirmed! How long did people wait before getting their date okayed? All I want is to be able to okay people to book flights and book our own before the prices fluctuate up, as I live in constant fear that they will! FI and I have been through a multitude of ups and downs regarding this DW (whoever said they were easy?!?) ever since we got engaged at DLR in 2010, and as a teacher I am incredibly limited as to when we can travel, so I am desperate to get things sealed and sorted. Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Kim.
  3. Doh, that'll teach me to read properly!! This July! You must be so excited, that's so close!! What are your plans? x
  4. How exciting! Have you been able to book yet? The wait is driving me MAD! What sort of date are you aiming for? How odd that we might be there at the same time!
  5. Next came the monogram, this I created last summer, with the help of you guys on here. It went over a major journey, thanks to the people who gave me some pointers on how to improve it. Version 1: Final version:
  6. With the ceremony planned, let's hit... THE RECEPTION: Having (from a distance) watched a reception taking place on the beach, whilst taking a walk on the pier after dinner, we knew that's where we wanted ours to be too. We're hoping to be able to move our decs from the gazebo to one of the palpas also, and use it as a makeshift dance floor/ shelter (not that it's going to rain... definitely not ) In terms of the cake, it will probably be a simple one tier cake with turquoise ribbon around it, then with a personalised topper. This will be on a beach and have palms with the wedding date written in the sand (A <3 K?); a personalised bride and groom (designed from photos of us, my dress and hair), the mini groom will have an xbox pad in his hand behind his back . Lighting- We will also add battery powered fairy lights around the trees and the centre of the palpa, paper sand bags filled with tea lights and eco-friendly fire lanterns. These infuse certain element of Glastonbury into our wedding and combines our two favourite places, albeit only slightly. Jam jar candle holders- These are a bit of a DIY jobby that I've already had a go at., I intend to decorate them using our turtle logo as well as things like hearts, the date, our names etc. and filling them with tea-light candles and either sand or beads. Here is an example of one done properly:
