But they were alot of work to put together.. but i think it was worth it bc i love the way they came out... thankfully they dont or at least i dont think they dont look fake in the pictures! I don't think they look fake at all. And for that price, the work is well worth it. Great job. -

Those look great!! Where did you get the flowers from? Are they real touch or just silk? If you don't mind me asking, what was the total cost for you? -

Ok, so my TA contacted Yesenia in Miami and according to them, this new deal is taking over the original $300 incentive for booking 3 nights. So if your guests have already booked 3 nights, they will no longer get $300 to be used towards spa, gulf and tours; they will instead receive $750. If guests book minimum 5 nights, they will receive $1500. The $1500 can be used towards spa, tours, gulf, a romantic lobster dinner for 2, wine tasting AND even part of your wedding package. I think this is so much better and hopefully will persuade more people to book! So our groups do get it. Hopefully. So exciting.

Do you know how many you are expecting? If my calculations are right, we will be over the 25 rooms so I don't believe we will get it. In my contract it had the Passport promotion though so I hope everyone still gets at least that. My TA (who is also my FMIL) is in Fiji on vacation so I have to wait until she get back so she can check on this. I am also concerned if they decide to stop it just before my wedding. It would be great to have that much credit toward golfing or spa.

It does say subject to change at any time so I guess thats how they can change it all of the sudden :-p In the fine print is says groups of 25 and under? Did the mention to you if that applies or not? I am going to have my TA ask to see if we can get this deal for our group. It doesn't hurt to ask.

The anticipation of hearing back from a vendor is the hardest thing I've come across. I decided to book Peter Mills of All About Photography as my photographer (and will still use the hotel's photographer for the ceremony--i just didn't want to book their package as it was too much for too little and I've heard mixed reviews about them so i wouldn't want to chance it) . We have 3 kids so breaking the bank on a wedding is not an option and Peter had exactly the package I'm looking for at exactly the price I'm willing to spend. We also decided to go with the Amethyst collection. Purple is in this year and the pics on the proposal looked beautiful. We are having a cocktail hour and a 3 hr reception afterwards and are hoping to use the free group dinner that comes with our package for the rehearsal dinner instead. In the package details it mentioned that if we have a certain amt of guests stay at the resort we’re entitled to a free cocktail hour, which is also included in our package so I’m trying to see if that additional cocktail hour could just be applied to the reception cost to offset the extra expense-will keep you posted. I went to the Moon Palace on Oct 23rd this past year and was very pleased with the resort- very spacious (rooms could have been a little larger) but overall there’s plenty to do and see and the wedding department is beautiful and coordinators are quite knowledgeable and eager to assist. I too have found that they’re not very responsive to my emails (on limited instances I’ll receive a response right away while during other times it will take several weeks—I’m assuming they’re just inundated with emails and requests plus have to actually set up the weddings so they have their hands full.) Well I have my dress, have the photographer and am now just awaiting a response from a DJ and florist and hope the resort will allow me to bring them in. We shall see. If anyone has any recommends on DJs or florists they would be greatly appreciated. Congratulations and welcome to the forum! I haven't heard of too many brides bringing in a DJ. For florist, some brides are using real touch flowers while other just use what Moon Palace offers. I am sure you will find a lot of great information through the forum.

Now those staying 5 nights or longer get $1500 (per room) in "Vacation Dollars" that can be used for the tours, golf, spa/salon, etc. ($750/room for 3-4 night stays). Looks like a much better deal than was offered before (especially if you want to play golf or go to the spa). I'm hoping we can use vacation dollars to pay for our wedding day salon appointments (like hair & makeup). Only $300 of the $1500 can be used for salon/spa services, but that would definitely cover my hair & makeup appointments. It also says you can use the $1500 on the Precious Collection Wedding Packages. I'm not sure exactly what that means. Maybe someone with a more responsive WC could ask for more details on that. Reading through the fine print is it for groups 25 people and under and you can't use a TA. A little disappointing. I liked the idea of an upgraded wine list

However, like you, every time I have had my make up done, I ended up hating it and felt it was too much. I plan to go to Sephora and ask them to do my make up so they can teach me to put it on for a more dramatic look but then since I will be doing it, it can adjust for how much I really want on. They can also suggest some sweat proof make up.

(I started a thread recently soliciting WC questions from past and present MP brides.) One bride who was married in the Catholic chapel told me she was glad she had chosen that b/c it was covered and enclosed, she didn't have to change the location of her wedding because it was raining. All the brides with beach weddings had to have their ceremonies inside the banquet halls where they had moved the outdoor receptions.

I think if you have to wait a while at the airport, it would be frustrating as the actual shuttle ride will only be 15 mins. Waiting for the shuttle is the worst b/c you are so excited to be there and you just want to get to the resort and get out in the sun!

What section of Moon Palace is everyone staying in? We are staying in the Sunrise and it seems like the more I read that may have been a mistake. From what I understand the Grand section is non-ocean and further away but it sound like the Nizuc section is the best. Any thoughts? I don't know if we are going to be too late to switch though.

Marie's Moon Palace Review 04.02.2009

Wow, I would have to say your photos by David Pena are the best I have seen. They look great! I also want less posed and more natural shots and from the pictures I have seen, the prefers the poses more. I am glad to hear you were able to work with him on it. Looks great. -

However, as some of you have mentioned, Orbitz is MUCH cheaper! It's still way too early for me to worry about these things but I need as much info as possible, so as the date nears, I'll know what to do to get the bang for my buck. Thanks ladies!! Sheila From what I understand Orbitz is cheaper but those are rooms with obstructed views. Our TA was able to include a couple of the obstructed view rooms in our group booking in case someone wants to go on the cheap (how much are you really in you room anyway), they can. Through our TA these rooms were then cheaper than Orbitz is offering them for.

Do you remember the name of your photographer? Do you also know what products they use in the salon? I want my hair down but I am concerned with frizziness.
