We are going with a Justice of the Peace before we get down there. We considered doing the legal part in the WC office just before the wedding, however, in Mexico you have to get your blood drawn and this maybe a bit shallow but I bruise very easily, almost everytime I have my blood drawn and I don't want to risk looking like an heroin addict on my wedding day. So we are going to do it before we leave, it makes easier with filing the paperwork anyway. It will also give my fiance 2 opportunities to remember our anniversary.

I am only 2 months away from my wedding and I emailed my WC Valeria over a month ago and I haven't heard back yet. I even sent a follow up message after waiting for 3 weeks and not hearing anything and it's been over a week and I still don't have a response to that. My TA is my mother in law and she is going to ask Carlis in the booking office if we can be reassigned. It is very frustrating to not hear back, especially since I am within my 90 days prior. So far Valeria gets a big thumbs down from me. We have close to 50 guests booked and I want to choose my reception and cocktail locations. I was really hoping for better service.

Janelley100's Moon Palace Review 07/17/10
alison15 replied to Janelley100's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Yes, when I stay at Aventura Spa Palace I was greeted with a cold towel, flower and given a drink upon arrival. That left a great first impression. However my SIL and BIL didn't get either as the desk was really busy when they checked in. Also they did not have champagne waiting in their room when they arrived as we did. I think these inconsistenicies is what give MP such mixed reviews. My hope is that my guests are greeted with a towel, flower and drink so they immediately feel they are being pampered on this trip. What is even worse is that you were there for a wedding and they didn't seem to acknowledge it. It seems they should have done something extra special for you because of this. -

Janelley100's Moon Palace Review 07/17/10

Congratulations!! What a great review. Just a few questions if you don't mind 1. Who did you order your table runner and chair sashes through? 2. Which gazebo did you get married in? 3. You said in this post and another that your expectations were high and there were a few things that you had to relax your expectations on? Are you able to elaborate at all? Now I just need time to look at your pics 700!!! I am sure they are awesome, you are so lucky to have your BIL take them for you. -
Agreed! And do tickers no longer work? However much easier to find vendors and reviews!! No more constant questions on how to find a photographer.

I think that technically you are supposed to pay for a room for them so they are considered a guest taking pictures and are not an outside vendor. I know some brides have gotten away with just doing day passes, however, it is risky. If Moon Palace starts to enforce the no outside vendor policy, you will then have to pay for a room the day of the event and prices are much higher.

Mrs D To Be!'s Moon Palace Review - 05-28-10
alison15 replied to Mrs D To Be!'s topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
I was just reading over your LeBlanc Review (I don't think it was up when I read your review the first time), so disappointing. FI and I are having our wedding MP and then heading over to LeBlanc for our "Mini-Honeymoon" for a couple of days. My FMIL is a TA and set this up for us and she is very excited for us about it. From everything I looked at, it doesn't look that much better than MP but the price is A LOT different. I think I would have preferred The Royal but oh well we aren't paying for it so I can't really complain! We just wanted a separate resort, I would have been happy with Beach Palace or Cancun Palace and there wouldn't have been an up charge. Thanks for the info though. -
Bridesmaids dresses

I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from Target too. I didn't want them to have to buy a dress since they are spending money to go to the wedding but I also don't have a huge budget. What is great about Target is that returns are easy. I order 2 extra dresses in case sized didn't work but was able to return them. Everything with them turned out great, a little wrinkled from the package but everything else was fine. BTW, love the purple color you chose! I wanted that color originally but FI didn't agree. -
Hey Catherine, I have just been asking around but what pools do you think are best for a group of people? I have heard Grand Moon are nice due to the large beds and that they are the least crowded but also the furthest away. Between Sunrise and Nizuc? From what I hear Sunrise has the most kids, is that accurate? I am trying to decide to tell guests where our group will be hanging out. Our party doesn't have any kids and probably a majority of guests who will want a swim up bar. I have been to Aventura Spa Palace but never Moon Palace so I am just trying to get an idea. Thanks!

I'm just wondering how everyone will know where to go and when if we dont do one. we are having a flower girl, ring bearer, bm's and groomsmen...they will be lost!! Also, any cute ideas about an alternative to flowers for the flower girl?? i dont want to shell out the cash for the freeze dried ones or the expensive ones at MP haha! Also! I've received my chair bows and runners from tableclothesfactory.com in fuschia and orange coral and they are gorgeous! exactly what i wanted! I plan to do a rehearsal but we are having a catholic wedding so it is a little more complicated as we have readings, offering and communion. However, even if I wasn't, I would still want a rehearsal. It doesn't take too long and will make your whole day run a lot smoother. As far as ideas for the flower girl have you looked at eco confetti? It is much cheaper than freeze dried flowers and will add a bit of color for her to throw down. How long did it take you to get your order from tableclothesfactory? I don't have my final numbers yet on and wasn't sure how many to order but I don't want to wait too long and not get them on time.

Nizuc was pretty quiet during the day too, but bigger than Grand. Sunrise - we didn't hang out there during the day, but our guests did, as a few had kids, and I think this side was nearest the kids club, but its also where the big pool features are for kids too. This is where the swing poolbar is...gutted we didn't see it!lol Sunrise is also where the disco is at night, the only night we as a group went to this side at night, was for dinner one night, but also after the wedding, as after 10 there isn't a lot happening in the resort, so we headed over to sunrise and hung out in the lobby for a while before going into the disco. The lobby is a lot busier than the lobby at nizuc, and the disco is pretty awesome. The lobby at sunrise is the big one in all the promotional pictures for mp..it looks like an airport and has the escalators. Just depends what your looking for, but everything is soo easily accessible, it really doesn't matter what side you stay on. The rooms at the grand side are newer, and are nicer too. We only had 2 guests with a room at grand, and their rooms were just gorgeous, a lot bigger than everyone elses. Hope this helps a bit! In regards to pools to hang out at, which would you say is best for a group with no kids? Is there a swim up bar in the pools in the Nizuc section? Are the pools on the sunrise side more crowded?
