Should've put a guest limit on the invitations!!
alison15 replied to damaris's topic in Just venting or funnies
Wow I have never heard of people RSVPing for more than was written on the invitation, especially with destination weddings. However, look on the bright side, it sound like some people are bringing guest to watch kids so they can enjoy the wedding kid-free. -

Do you know much about powerpoint? If not, I can try and put together more detailed instructions for you. I'm sure you can play around with it and figure out. It's pretty easy. We then just used Avery labels and stuck those on everything. So once we were done with the logo in powerpoint, we inserted into word in our templates. All the ideas same from other wonderful BDW brides! Search OOT bags and you will find everything you need. For the key card holder, I got that template from someone else on the site....then we then used the avery iron on lables. Everything was really easy. Good Luck! I just can't believe we leave 2 weeks from TODAY!!!!!!! By this time...2 weeks from now, we will be at the resort! Wow 2 weeks! I wish I was that close. Good luck and hopefully everything is falling into place.

I have been wondering about this too as we are looking to purchase one to record our wedding and pre wedding activities. I know some of the Flip cameras have limited recording time and do not have the option for an SD card to switch out so you would have to take time out to download if you are close to the 120 minutes. However 120 minutes is a pretty long time for recording. Also does anyone know if there is optical zoom on those or only digital?

Congratulations!! So glad everything went well and you enjoyed your day.

This Febuary I went to sample sale at a store and found a pretty cute one for 70% off and bought it now I'm having some serious regrets I didn't buy the first one I loved. Because I bought it off the rack I have it at home and I try it on daily to see if I'll just fall in love with it one day. So far it's not happening Think I might have loved the sale more than the dress. What a stupid thing to do! I really want to go back and get the first dress now but I feel like I already bought one and I should just deal with it. Argggg. My FI actually thinks I should just go back and get the first one too but it's sooooo expensive and now I've already bought one. WHat to do? I feel really sad that I don't love my dress If would try to resell it on online. There is always craigslist or try a local consignment shop. You may lose a little bit of money but then at least you have something to put toward the dress you really want. It would be upsetting if you don't like the dress.

I would try first typing in a word doc so you can save it and then copy and paste just in case it were to happen again.

I had met two new roommates through Craigslist. The weekend I moved in, we had a party so all of our friends could meet and get acquainted. One of the roommates invited my FI, to meet me because she thought I was his type. She was right!

I am getting married 10/2/2010 at the Moon Palace Resort. We sent STD back in February, however, I am just now ordering invitations. Is that too late? Most of the booking information is on our website which is where the STD directs the guests.

He is an alcoholic and also has a drug problem (in denial) who is dreadlocking his hair (which he hasnt washed in over a year) and doesnt wash or shave. I know he will be drinking morning until night be a complete mess and will be all leachy with the female guests. Am I being a cow that I dont want him there? He also doesnt respect our home when he needs a place to crash, doesnt use coasters or puts cups/ plates etc away and eats everything in the fridge.... I know it sounds really petty. I have mentioned to H2B before this chap booked that he will need to talk to said friend about his appearance and behaviour on our wedding day. Now this chap has booked and I just dont him to bowl up drunk and swaying on the day. what shall I do? H2B will go mad if he knows how I really feel. I would try and bring up a general conversation about guests in general and ask H2B if he think there are any guests who may embarrass themselves with alcohol being all inclusive (sometimes there is more than 1). Otherwise I would want to address it directly, even if it hurts his feelings he has to be aware of his drinking problem and see how it can create an issue.

I specified several times I wanted "Real Touch" for ALL the flowers - some of them definitely aren't (like the roses). The calla lillies and peonies were really nice and I liked the bouquet overall, I'm confident it will look nice in pics but if you are really picky about your flower quality then you might be a bit disappointed. Overall, if I had known what the end product would be I think the flowers at Michael's are almost as nice and I could have done it myself so I probably wouldn't order for them if I had to do it all over again. Best of luck ladies! I will try to post a pic when I think of it. Do you still plan to use them? How significant was the cost savings? I have been debating and I'm not certain they will be worth it in the end, I think I may pay just more for real flowers as I would hate to spend all that and not be happy with it.

I dont think your coordinator should have any say - you should see about talking to the priest directly. Frankly, I dont think the coordinator should have any involvement w/ matters regarding the actual wedding ceremony. Check out this link for more info on catholic weddings: Catholic Wedding The priest is not my own priest but a Mexican priest and we will meet with him only a couple of days before the wedding. I was told I would be having a full mass because I asked the wedding coordinator for this before booking the wedding. However, Catholic Mexican weddings and wedding traditions are a bit different than my own traditions which is why I wanted a copy of the ceremony prior to getting down there.

I am getting married in the Chapel. One thing to consider, another bride on here got married two weekends ago and it rained all evening, her reception could be moved inside and since the chapel is covered and enclosed it didn't affect her. However all the other brides had to have indoor ceremonies would I think would be less than ideal. It kind of takes the reason for a wedding in Mexico out of it. The indoor reception areas are nice but very generic and looks could really be any hotel reception anywhere. Just my opinion.

Does that leave enough time for all the planning to be done? I think you can speak with them prior, you just won't be top priority until 3 months prior so you will have long waits on responses. However, since they do weddings all the time, everything runs smoothly and should be enough time for you to make decision on the necessary things.

In regards to wedding scripts, does anyone know what the catholic wedding script is like? We are having a catholic ceremony in Moon palace and was told it would be a full catholic mass. I am still waiting to hear back from the wedding coordinator regarding the script and if we get to choose readings, etc. Also there are several mexican catholic wedding traditions that I am not certain if they use or not. Has anyone had a catholic wedding at Moon Palace or anywhere else that could shed some light on this?

We are thinking Anyone Else But You by the Moldy Peaches. Another idea we are thinking for fun is some random 80's hair band song.
