I have poured thru all of the posts, reviews and comments before deciding on the resort and now I am booked and ready to plan! A few starter questions that I haven't found the answers to: 1. I'm thinking about having my wedding dinner at La Trattoria (15 total guests). Has anyone been to that restaurant? Thoughts? Opinions? 2. Any opinions on the Concierge level? Worth the extra money? Thanks so much and I'm looking forward to planning with all of you! 1. La Trattoria, if you like Italian it is very good. Kind of a romantic feel to it as well, imo. It would probably be my choice, plus most people like Italian so its easier to please everyone 2. I was at Aventura Spa Palace in Nov of this past year, same weekend and it was completely full, Concierge level get their own private padded beach chairs overlooking the ocean and your own waitstaff which gives you the best view of the ocean. Well we were able to just wander up there and use the chairs since the resort wasn't very full. It was nice. I don't know if MP will be the same way. However, if you want to hang out with your guests and they all are not Concierge level, you won't be able to enjoy those type of perks so unless everyone is doing it, it may not be worth it. If you are concierge level, your rooms will be nicer as well but how much time do you want to spend in your room?
  3. Darksparkles, I guess it depends on availability and how our priest feels about the wedding down there. We have pre-cana this weekend so I guess we will find out. I don't want the wedding down there to just be symbolic so if it could count as our real Catholic wedding since it won't be our legal one then we will just go to a JP. Or it may just be easier to have our priest do it the weekend before. I joked with my FI that this way we have two anniversaries so if he misses the first one, he can try to remember the second one.
  4. Have guests know that some of the free tours will offer to add on stuff like ATV tours or horseback rides that do cost extra. Moon Palace is very close to the Zip Line excursion but some of the others like Tulum Ruins and Chita Inza (sp?) take almost the full day by the time you drive there, spend time and drive back. If you want to tan, it ruins most of your time in the sun.
  5. DiamondGirl, that does help. I am trying to convince the FI on this too. I don't want to spend $1600-$1800 for crap. I just don't know if I am being too picky. My other concern is of course, getting an outside vendor that is not much better. I guess I am still looking at all the options however, if at this point a lot of outside photographers are already booked.

With tax, that comes to about 500 for 2 firedancers for 15 minutes or 550 for 3 firedancers for 15 minutes. I am also using DecoCancun to help me with my reception decorations. She just sent me a catalog with some of their arrangements. I'm going to give her my budget for decorations and hopefully, we can arrange something. Is DecoCancun consider an outside vendor or not? Are there extra fees that apply?
  7. Congratulations! At least you know where you want to get married, I had no idea when I got engaged. Already a step ahead.
  8. Congratulations and welcome. Tons of information here!
  9. It seems like people either love or hate David Pena. Maybe it's his mood that day?? Our budget is probably not going to allow for an outside photographer either. I wish they have more information regarding the photographers that they have. I am very concerned with photography however, after you added in costs to pay for a room so the photographer is a guest, in addition to their normal costs, it make it so much more. However, MP packages are considerably lower compared to other outside photographers, but is it worth it if the pictures are not good?
  10. Wow looks beautiful! Great review. My FI and I are thinking of honeymooning to Turk and Caicos. Looks so pretty!

Everything looked so beautiful.
