How exciting!!! Congrats!!

We are expecting around 100 people at our reception (we've already got 50 booked not including us) and are doing a private reception. My understanding is that they charge you per person not for food/alcohol but for the logistics ( private area.. tables.. chairs... private servers/bartenders etc) which makes sense. its a lot of work to set up a private dinner! Just make sure that whichever hotel/venue you chose has the ability to cater to a larger destination wedding If you're looking at Mexico I'd recommend the Dreams Hotels (were getting married at dreams riviera cancun) and ive had a friend get married at dreams PV both of which can hold larger weddings.

Those are gorgeous!!! Are they more of a pink or coral color??? I'd take them into a shoe repair place and see what they can do for you... i had a pair of louboutins that had the same problem and they reconstructed the strap for me (it was cheap only 15$ to do) but they are so much more comfortable now!

Dreams is part of the amresorts family... which includes secrets resorts (which are adults only) maybe you could ask about switching to a secrets resort for the honeymoon and transferring the honeymoon package with you?

That's what we'll be doing too.. having a very casual backyard bbq type of reception when we return... we don't want to spend the money on a "true" wedding reception.

Sky lanterns are the paper lanterns that you release into the air (like a hot air balloon). They were in tangled and the hangover 2. They are pretty common in asian cultures during celebrations and are considered good luck, they are symbolic of problems and worries floating away. I think they'd make beautiful pictures too.... but they can be dangerous if its too windy!

so far my biggest stress factor is money... can my friends/family afford to come and can we get the wedding we want on a budget! I stress out about spending so much money on one day!!

Don't forget to take a look at Dreams Riviera Cancun... I believe its the newest Dreams hotel in the Riviera Maya area. Were getting married there next June and have been incredibly happy with them so far!

Does anyone know if DRC allows sky lanterns??? I love the idea of doing these but am unsure as to how they would work in the wind down there!!

Hi JordannaMarie!! Welcome! We're getting married June 2012 at DRC and if i recall it took Ana about a week to two weeks to put the deposit through and then about 3 days after it showed up on our bank statement we had a confirmation email from her.
