  1. In case some of you are wondering, I believe Cecilia's e-mail address is [email protected] and Valeria's is [email protected]. I received an out of office reply from Valeria and she said for urgent matters I could contact Cecilia at that address.
  2. El Dorado Maroma is also very nice. I did a site visit there as well. It kind of depends on the size of your party and what you are looking for in a resort. EDM is a lot smaller and quieter, with a lot less restaurants/bars/activities. If you have more of a relaxed group I would recommend EDM, but if you feel like you would like more going on and more options for people SMB would probably be a better choice. They both have an amazing beach, obviously, since they are both on Maroma beach. I have been getting slightly higher price quotes for EDM as compared to SMB, so that is something to factor in as well. Hope that helps!
  3. I did a site visit when I was down in Mexico in January and I met with Valeria. I am pretty sure Valeria is new and she is kind of Cecilia's assistant. So I wouldn't be surprised if Valeria takes care of the smaller events whereas Cecilia does the larger ones.
  4. Thanks for the info! By the way...I was going to book Jan 14th, but then I saw you booked it, so now we are probably going to book Jan 7th! What dates will you be there?
  5. Hi everyone, I am in the process of booking at SMB. I wanted to get some feedback from everyone regarding the wedding package they booked. I am thinking of booking one of the 2 packages other than the free one, but there are some things that are included that we do not need. I was wondering if any of you have chosen one of the upgraded packages and negotiated for other items you wanted instead of what was included in the package? For example, one of my guests is going to do my hair and makeup, so I will not need those services. But I am interested in renting a sound system and having a bonfire for a welcome dinner. Any information and advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance! Carissa
  6. I am also planning on combining my STD and invite. I just posted on the welcome page of the website that I will be providing everything that they need to know there and said we were "going green". I think it's really your call, but I agree that once people receive something with the date, if they want to come, they will just start booking/calling your TA.
  7. Congrats! I also suggest looking into Mexico because you really can't beat their prices. Do a lot of research on here and meet with a travel agent to narrow down your options and discuss what is most important for you both.

    Congrats! Hope you enjoy planning!
  9. I like how your OOT bags are very personalized to your theme! Everything looks great!
  10. Tris, are you willing to share how much these ended up costing total/per invitation?
  11. Congrats on the recent engagement and enjoy your planning! I've never been to Maui, so I can't comment on your locations, but I am sure you will find lots of info on here about those places!
  12. They look good! The black and white is very unique! This is a personal preference, but the border around the date seems a little thick...maybe play around with sizing?
  13. That's so sweet! I almost cried when I read this!
  14. My FI parents contributed $5000+ to his brothers wedding and were planning on doing the same for ours. We told them that we didn't think that was fair for them to have to put that much money towards ours because they will have to pay for themselves, my FI 2 younger brothers, and may possibly have to help his other brother/wife because they may be short on money. They will definitely be spending more than $5000 just to pay for everyone. If they decide they have some extra money to contribute, then that will be fantastic, but we don't expect it by any means. I know it sucks, because it doesn't seem "fair", but look on the bright side...you will probably end up spending far less by having a DW versus a traditional wedding and it will last a week longer! Just remember why you are getting married in the first place...it's not about the wedding, but spending your lives together!
