  1. I really am torn on what to do... Do it legal here or over there. We've decided on Dreams Tulum. Can anyone tell me what the cost was for the legal ceremony? I'd like to do the legal part in Mexico but if the cost is much higher I will do it here. The whole translation of the documents is freaking me out and the possible wait on changing my name is scaring me. Ack!!
  2. Wow i'm surprised that flying in a photographer would be the same price as some of the photog's in the Mayan. Seems like a no brainer to have the photographer for the week, instead of paying for only one day for a local??.... Interesting.
  3. Gorgeous pics!! You are beautiful, I LOVE YOUR DRESS!!! Who is it??
  4. Just finished reading this thread from start to finish, too funny! I've been getting brazillians for 6 years now, and they still hurt me like a MOFO!! I don't think it gets any easier, but it's SOOOOOOOOOOO worth the pain! Smooth like a baby's butt, no shaving, looks sexy and feels great for you and him My girl has got me putting egg whites on the area before bed the night of the wax. It's suppose to tighten up the pores etc. I noticed if i didn't do it, the redness and bumps were worse, so there's something to it.. start to exfoliate and moisturize a few days after the wax to reduce ingrowns Tip: help her keep the skin tight by pulling on your tummy or thigh
  5. ah i just stumbled across Handmade plantable stationery - favors, invitations and paper that grow beautiful wildflowers, they are in my city so i'm going to go down and have a look! i love the idea of plantable invites!
  6. Yep we met on eharmony! We honestly are so compatible it's scary! I truly believe in that site! I have met the most amazing man, my Mr. Right! I could have not found him at a bar or thru my friends. Best $$$ i've ever spent
  7. Awww what a romantic proposal!!! You have a great guy!!! Congrats!
  8. You have 30 guests booked already?!!! I'd say you are half way there! NICE! I barely started! (we technically aren't engaged, waiting on the sale of my house to pay for the big ROCK and wedding i want!) I don't have a date set yet, but we both like the idea of mid to late Feb, or a resort picked. I'm guessing i'll end up with Dreams Tulum but i'm waiting to hear on some quotes from my TA. Basically as far as i got is found this amazing site and booked a TA from here, Christine! How did you decide on your resort? Who did you use for invites? Mel
  9. Gorgeous ring, is it Tacori? Looks like the one i've picked out! What style diamond?
  10. This is a tough decision. I know FI's grandparents won't be coming. They are in their 80's and im sure won't/can't travel. It would be nice to have them see us married. But i don't want everyone else commenting on the "well you're already techincally married" thing.
  11. I'm adding this to my wish list. We love wine and this just is such a nice romantic idea And i like that it adds a bit more the ceremony. I don't want a long ceremony, but some that are over in 10 mins, it's like, geez that was it?!!!
  12. What type of invitation did you get? Can you post a pic? I want to do the passport invites but am worried about ordering for a U.S. vendor and paying custom fees. I'd like to order from a Canadian company if i can find one...
  13. You are a beautiful bride!!! I love everything, your hair, your dress, you flowers!!! Gorgeous!! I'm getting excited to plan mine!
  14. The links don't work for me? They take me to a new BDW main page of the forum.
  15. sunglass CLEANER!!! glasses get so dirty from the suncreen, sand, wind etc. would never go with out it.
  16. This is a great idea, i like it! I think this is what i'll do. I"ll check back on the wording

We will actually be moving to another adults only resort after the wedding as our honeymoon resort- maybe that's what you can do if you're worried of being surrounded by guests all the time? Enjoy planning! Thanks! That's a really great idea i didn't think about! I would love to do one week with our guests/wedding and than one week at an adults only for our 'honeymoon' week. Which one are you going to for your second week?
  18. I'm thinking I would like to go down for Valentine's day as well. I'm looking at Dreams Tulum and Azul Beach, althou i have no idea what the rates are like yet. Waiting to hear on those. That's the price range i'm hoping for as well for our guests. Can you let me know when you decide? Good luck!
  19. Hello BDW forum! This is an amazing forum and i'm really looking forward to getting to know some of the members and using all this great info/ideas! My BF and I are not ‘technically’ engaged yet, although we are starting to plan the wedding! I moved in with my BF last May, we’ve been dating since October 2008. I kept my house hoping it would work out nicely as revenue property. The rental thing didn’t work out and we’ve decided to sell it. Part of the money from the sale will pay for some of my ring and the wedding. Fingers crossed that it sells soon! I’ve picked out a very nice ring and it’s over what I would expect BF to pay by himself so until than I have to wait. But I don’t want to settle on any other ring! We took our first winter vacation to the Mayan last March and stayed at the Barcelo Beach. We had an amazing time, the area is just AMAZING!! So we’ve decided that is where we’d like to tie the knot. The beaches in Tulum are gorgeous so we are looking at doing it there. I have to start researching the different resorts and pick one yet, opinions welcome! I don’t think a lot of our friends and family will make it to wedding. I’m guessing that we will have a party of 15? We want an all-inclusive resort in the 4 -5 star range, kid friendly. If it was just us going alone than we’d love a villa/condo but all-in is the best bet with our guests. I’m going to hire one of the TA’s from this website to help with the planning. It’s so great that this forum is a one stop shop! Until I do that I can’t really pick a date, can I? We are going to go for two weeks and hope our guest just stay for one We would like a late February date. Although I think Valentines day sounds nice too… Melanie
