And so it begins!! We sent out our invitations last week. Most got them last Friday and we are already having ppl say they can't afford it. HIS PARENTS!! I told myself i wasn't going to let that thing bother me, friends and extended family not coming, but his freaking parents. He has to deal with it. Than our agent gave us a price of $2063 for one week, which i think is perfect. But than she says that that deal is over August 27th and the price jumps to $3033. I posted that on our wedding website and ppl are freaking. So i really don't know how many ppl will be at our wedding!! Oh well as long as it's me and him that's all that matters....... I'm sorry to hear about the rain for our upcoming brides!! Best of luck having your perfect day. Stay positive

One piece of advice would be to just relax and not fixate on overdoing the details or fretting on what could go wrong. You have all chosen an amazing place to get married! Also we hired an outside photographer, Ivan Luckie, who was great and used the resort photog Rueben since it came with the package for a group photo session on the beach and we were more than impressed with the outcome. Can't wait to share my review coming up! Yey!!! That is so awesome to hear!! Congrats can't wait to read the review and see pics! We are using Christine, one of the BDW TA's, she's out of Regina. She's booked us with Sunwing and we put down our deposits. Our invites are getting mailed out on Monday since i screwed up printing the rsvp cards, was hoping to have them in the mail this weekend! Here's the quote she gave us if we can get 10 ppl to book before Aug 27, which won't be a problem. What do you think of these rates? I thought they were ok, but i wouldn't want them to be any higher. I think they are at the highest point most ppl are willing to pay.. Dreams Tulum – in a Deluxe Garden Room – Sunwing Vacations – Valid until June 30th. Departing February 19, 2011 -$1763 + $295 (taxes & fees) = $2063 per adult (1 week) -$1393 + $295 = $1688 per child (ages 3-12) (1 week) -$3088 + $295 = $3383 per adult (2 weeks)

I'm using clear labels on my envelopes... i hope it doesn't look tacky! I just don't want to screw up printing on my envelopes and waste any, as i don't have any spares and they were custom ordered so no chance of buying any. I'm not sure what i'll do.... our first and last names first names last names only with wedding at end..... hmm!!

Yey!!! I finally get to post!! I've been lurking/posting a little bit since April when we talked about making it official. We ordered my dream ring, a radiant Tacori! Took 6 weeks to get it and he officially proposed on Monday night! With a beautiful romantic dinner of steak and lobster, two dozen roses, one red, one white, ring box hidden in the roses. And did a lovely job of telling me how happy he is and got down on one knee! I'm so happy and so incredibly lucky!!! ETA- oh and sometimes bumping an old thread with your own question might not get as many opinions because people tend to read the first post only.... even if it's from 2006! I'd suggest doing a forum search about RSVP ideas. This subject has probably been discussed a ton and I'm sure you will even find alternative ideas you might not have thought of. Good luck! Ahh i guess your right i should have checked the date. I hate having multiple threads of the same questions, so i figured i'd pick one that was closest to what i was asking/looking for.

I'm going to send out my invites. They are green! Handmade plantable stationery - favors, invitations and paper that grow beautiful wildflowers BUT, i'm not doing a wedding website. I'm not that computer savoy....lol So do you think it's ok, not tacky, to send a rsvp card in the invites that just has my email address as the rsvp?

I love this thread but it's stressing me out!! I was hoping to just show up and get married and that be it. There's so much extra stuff to make it special... now to decide on a budget and what's important to me. But there's SOOO much information/extras!! How do you pick/narrow it down!! Thanks ladies! I have 9 months of planning. eek! -

My birth certificate is obviously in Italian, so I would need to get the translation from Italian to English and then English to Spanish....ICK! I think we may just zip off the day before we leave and get married by a marriage commissioner here. Start off the holiday with a bang! As for costs, I believe the ceremony will cost the same regardless of whether it is legal or symbolic, you would save the money on blood tests and translations. I felt a bit weird contemplating 'getting married before getting married', but I know that many places in Europe you get married at city hall before your wedding or it is not legal. As for getting married 'before' our wedding, we will celebrate the Mx wedding date as our anniversary. Thanks for the reply. I too am divorced so that was what was putting me off more as well, i don't want any hang-ups with paperwork! And hearing that it may take awhile to get the name change going also has me hesitant. I'm not so worried about being legally married before, the thing i have the problem is, is just having to do things twice! lol i'm all about efficiency so it would be nice to just have a one shot deal down there.....
