  1. Can you e-mail me the information and attachments you posted to [email protected]? I am getting married on 11/11/11 and am trying to find as much information as possible! Thanks a million!!!!!!!!!
  2. Oh wow! I am getting married on 11/11/11 at Playacar Palace also! Our ceremony is at Nuestra Senora Del Carmen Church and cocktail hour will start at 5:00 PM in the Cielo Bar. Our reception is from 6:00-10:00 PM in the North Solarium. Where are your events?
  3. Wow...I am glad to hear that I am not the only one shocked by the price of DJ services through J&S! I had them send me a quote for DJ services and lighting for the North Solarium and they had the nerve to send a quote back for $4,600!!! I was livid! Can someone please send me information on the other two DJ's mentioned (Doremixx and Mania)? Also, is anyone else getting married in the North Solarium? How was lighting at night? Our wedding date is 11/11/11!
  4. Is it possible for you to e-mail it? I am sure lots of people have asked! My personal e-mail address is [email protected]. Thanks!
  5. You may have already been asked this, but did Teresa request you put down a deposit to hold the rooms for your guests? My TA wants me to put $100.00 down a person within 30 days of signing the contract and my guests can pay towards the trip in payments up to 2-3 months before we get married. Does that sound about right?
  6. HELP!!!! Where is everyone hosting their reception? I feel as though there are VERY limited options- especially indoor options! We are getting married at a chapel/church in town...but, will have around 35-50 people to host our reception with. I like their outdoor options, but I was told that our reception would have to end by 10:00 PM...making me consider having an indoor reception...and the only choice I see is having it in the ballroom....which is "okay", but not ideal. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Can you please forward any information you have to help me get in contact with the church. Thanks in advance!!! My personal e-mail address is [email protected]

I know that they are extremely busy right now with other weddings going on so that's probably why they haven't gotten back to you - try emailing again or contact the head office Camille, Do you have the wedding coordinators direct e-mail? Also, are you working with a wedding coordinator to organize your ceremony at the church. I don't know where to start...I am set on having a catholic ceremony...and that is mainly why we are leaning more towards being married in Playa Del Carmen. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
  9. Ladies!!! Thank you for starting this thread!!! I love this forum!!! I have also been constantly searching for the "perfect" resort and I think I am down to deciding between Playacar Palace and Dreams Riviera Cancun!!! Do any of you have pictures that can be sent to my personal e-mail address at [email protected] I haven't heard back from the wedding coordinator and I am sooo anxious to get more information. What are their options for reception sites? We are getting married in a church and will only be having our cocktail hour and reception on site. Thanks in advance!
  10. Our date is finally set 6/11/11! Does anyone know of other options we have outside of the gazebo and deck for our wedding ceremony and reception? Kelly & Patrick Nelli & Ivica Stephanie & Raoul Elizabeth & Brian Michael & Navrina Paulo & Olga

  12. I would try using another travel agent. I am working with Wedding Destinations and Planning | Destination Weddings .com and they were able to get me group rates and my wedding is 6/11/2011.
  13. GREAT REVIEW LAURA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure everyone here appreciates it as much as I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you - I hadn't originally planned on a site visit but the slow communication made me nervous so we booked a site visit in May. For room rates - I went with a travel agent. The rates the group department sent me were not great. As a matter of fact, the group rate was higher then if my guests just went on the website and booked. Also, my understanding was to do a group rate you have to put a deposit down on all those rooms...and once your guests booked them all then you get your deposit back. Made me a little nervous. My TA is amazing, she's found really great prices for all my guests so far (we have about 30 peopled booked and I haven't even sent out the invitations yet!) What part of Houston are you in? I'm in the Heights. Thanks for the advice!!! I'm waiting to hear back from my TA and hoping she can work her magic!!! If not, I was an event coordinator for several years...and I have no problem speaking with upper management...sometimes that's what you have to do. You learn that when working with hotels all the time for conferences, etc. I want to try to keep this as affordable as possible since my guests are going to another country just to attend our wedding! We'll see...I'll keep you informed. We actually live in Meyerland and are moving at the end of April for me to be closer to work. Looking in the Heights and Memorial area. Is your TA here in Houston? I would have really liked to work with someone local. My TA has been difficult to get a hold of at times.

  16. Let me start by introducing myself! My name is Samantha and my fiance is Joseph!!! We go by "Sam & Joe" here in Houston, TX!!! We have been great friends for 13 years and it became much more 4 years ago!!! Now here we are ENGAGED and planning to get MARRIED on June 11, 2011 at Dreams Riviera Cancun!!! We are sooo excited!!! I am currently working with a Kim Mallory of Destination Weddings.com and we both had the same trouble contacting Ana. I think she has all of our best interests in mind...but, she seems to be terribly overworked! I'm being patient and plan on getting everything situated during a site visit 6-9 months before my wedding. It seems to be easier to do it all in person! One thing I know I do need advice on is ROOM RATES for my guests!!! I have read so many different things...and I am not sure who to talk to? Ana? Group Department? Etc.? They have a WINTER PROMOTION and I asked Ana if she could do that rate and she replied that if we wanted to we would have to book online, but that she could not guarantee that rate!!! PLEASE ADVISE!!! Thanks in advance!!!
