We have a bunch of kids going and they were still quoting us CDN$1100.00 per child :-s I though kids under 12 stayed free! Thanks :-)

Luckily their group was kinda small, less than 25 people I think so this worked well! Dance floor setup.. I think each one of those tiles is 4x4 or 5x5, cant remember. Total space of 10x10ish, lets say. Again, i think the globes were hanging a tad too low, for the tall people they were bumping heads with them a little. Another scene setter back across the resort, just for a piece of mind to know what the night views look like ok, hope that helps with your visualization. More images from Matt & Margaret's TTD here SALUDOS, mateo Ohhhhh thanks - very pretty. I would love to use the Seaside Grill as a reception venue. Just not sure if our group is going to be small enough.

  7. I can't wait for everyone to receive their dress and post their pics (real bride with real body in their dress, not the super skinny model pic)...kekekeke...mine will arrive in 1 month...ah....CAN'T WAIT!! __________________ I have Canada BBQ Thursday, wedding Friday and we are hosting the after party Saturday night but I am determined to get out this weekend and get a camera so hopefully I'll be able to show you what mine looks like by next week :-)
  8. Hi ladies, Matt from Del Sol was nice enough to send me this link of a wedding that he recently shot at DRC. He mentioned that the bride is a fellow forum member so you may have already seen some of the shots if she posted them. I hadn't so I thought that I would share them here also just in case I wasn't the only one. I know we all love being able to see new pics that give us a fresh perspective of what the weddings are actually like since many of us haven't had the opportunity to do a site visit. Looks like she had an amazing day and the shots that he took were beautiful! 05.15.10 Margaret + Matthew | Wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun | Photos by Matt Adcock Melissa

She was rocking a bra in gr 4 years before I even got to go for a training bra LOL A rare breed, but they do exist :-)
  11. Ooooh Nicy - I love that back and front shot of the soft curly up do with the white flower. I haven't even looked at hair for some reason. My hair is ringlet curls so I think I'm going to do a trial run with the hair dresser for the very "Monica-moment" aversion that you described lmao I can see it happening way to easy if the person isn't familiar with doing my type of hair :-s

Geez sometimes you don't even spot them on those excursions let alone actually get to get in the water with them!
  14. I have tried contacting them twice off of their website contact link but no response. Is there a phone number that anyone knows of? TIA :-)

I had quite the little mishap with my WC. Due to nothing more than the sheer luck of being on another thread with a fellow DRC bride we quickly realized that we shared not only the same date but the same time! Our time slot had been double booked. Basically it came down to who had booked first, which luckily was me what a fright!! Anyway after a sweet chat with my fellow bride and a strongly worded email and phone call to DRC - things seem to be back on easy street - or lat least here's to hoping LoL
  16. Gosh it feels like forever since I've been on :-s Just finished a 4 week crash course of training in the PICU and I never get on here anymore:-s Off for the rest of the week so hopefully I can catch up LoL My dress got here last week though and it is gorgeous, finally got our date and ceremony time confirmed and we officially have 11 peeps booked so things are coming along slowly anyway. Hope all is well with you ladies. Can't wait to look up all the goodies that I missed. :-)

Not sure where abouts your wedding is- we're getting married in Mexico and used Zuniga- they were awesome and booked us 14 months out. Hth :-) Definitely agree with the pp though - you don't need any of those confirmations to send out your STDs. We sent ours out with just the date and "Cancun, Mexico" before we even knew what resort we were picking and just had 'Formal Invitations To Follow' :-)

They do so many weddings it is unreal. Anna said she has 336 weddings this year not to mention all the other parties she has to do. She is great to work with and you can negotiate when you get there. I know she is hard to contact but she works nonstop. I've seen her working in the morning till late at night. We made an appointment while checking into the resort. We chose not to have the cocktail hour and mariachi band and used the band for the sound system at the reception (brought an ipod and someone works it for you) applied the cocktail hour to our other guests(9 extra) dinners. Had to pay for more flowers though for the beach set up and bouquets for 4 bridesmaids, 6 boutineres for the guys and dads. flower for the moms. Then the moms and bridesmaids had their hair done and we paid for that. Not too bad. The kids came in under budget and everyone had a fantastic time. Alot of people just went to freshen up and some went to bar during the time pictures were being done before the reception. We had the microphone with the sound system and everyone gave their speeches and we were able to announce the bride and groom and do the traditional dances. they choose the chicken for dinner and it was a roll up which was awesome. They thought it might have been the same one they serve in the Italian restaurant. Not sure though. the weddings in the gazebo everyone watches and everyone claps and you are front and center pretty much. We were set up on the left side of the beach and even though people were there and watching it wasn't quite as out in the open. Just something to think about. One night there were 3 wedding reception and a dinner going on so it can be quite lively. We chose not to have a dj as there were only 30 of us. But I saw a wedding with a dj and not too much dancing going on and then down the beach another wedding with a large young crowd with a dj and everyone was dancing. I would chose whether to have one based on the kind of crowd you have with you. you will need to pack imodium and pepto as everyone seemed to have had something going on while there. anti-itch cream is a must along with some off. We had the off lotion and rubbed it on our feet and legs at night if we were going down to the beach but everyone else we were with got bit up a bit. Really good sunscreen is a must. Even though I went tanning before arriving my forehead and nose got burnt pretty good. I was using sunscreen too. My sister brought the banana boat 70 sunscreen and they didn't get burnt. Mine was cheap walmart equate 30. Guess that was my mistake. The food at the resort is awesome and the employees do work their tails off. They are very friendly and at your service as they like to say. The girls that do hair also do massages. I had Rosy do an 80 minute swedish message and it was the best ever. She is amazing. You really need to have the spa experience. It is worth every penny. We walked down the beach (45 min) to the closet town to try some shopping but there wasn't too much there. Better off hanging out on the beach as people come by selling stuff. Also there is a cart on the premises with some stuff and they had vendors come in a couple of times while we were there. The ocean is seaweedy and churned up a bit so not clear and turquoise like some beaches. They spend alot of time grooming it though. My son and his girlfriend went scrub diving through american express and they said it was their worst dive ever. It wasn't clear at all for seeing fish. They were disappointed. Not sure if its better on some days than others. I would check around and see what others who have gone have to say before booking. We pretty much chose to just hang at the resort since everything was included and it was very nice right there. Guys must have long pants, sleeved shirts and nice shoes to get in most of the restaurants so be prepared. It can be blue jeans. It is more strict than their website says. Most of the women wore dresses at night. People dress up every evening so make sure all your people know so they can pack accordingly. We had a few not pack long pants and they missed out on the nice French and Italian. Although they pick one restaurant each evening that you can wear shorts at. Never the French or Italian. Just be forewarned. If you have any questions let me know and I can try and answer them. Thanks for the mini review - good stuff to know :-)

The only thing she had taken was the credit card authorization form and confirmed 4 o'clock. I better call find out exactly what is going on :-s Thank God I saved all the correspondence! Thanks so much for letting me know this.
  22. Are the maraca tags still available? I couldn't find a price - sorry lol If you ship to Canada I will take those :-)
  23. Ooohh I'm super jealous! I LOVED the Ritz in Cancun but with the amount of people we were having it was just TOO expensive. Besides that the restaurants and such were very pricey too. Our guests are flying in for the week so an all-inclusive was definitely the way to go for us to accommodate everyones budget. It looks absolutely GORGEOUS though and has a solid backing on tripadvisor.com.
