Yea! A June 2011 thread!! I'm getting married on June 25, 2011 at the Iberostar Del Mar. I just paid our deposit and am meeting with our photographer this weekend. A friend of my brother-in-law has her own photography business, and she's agreed to come with us & not charge, as long as we pay for her flight & stay. I figure that's not a bad deal Our Save the Dates are probably going out in September - I already picked them out from Wedding Paper Divas. I just wanted to wait until we could have some travel info before we sent it out. I probably am going to start dress shopping in the fall - I found a few that I liked from David's Bridal. I'll just have to see what they look like on me It definitely feels real now that I'm booked

Wow, that's a lot of money! Did you check out the vendor section on here to see if there's anyone? For the make up, do you think any of your girls will just do their own? I was going to pick up items for mine when Clinique or Lancome do their free gift with purchase to get some extra goodies. Also, Carson's has the goodwill sale sometime in the fall when you can actually use a coupon on cosmetics. Thankfully my oldest sister is a stylist, so she's going to do everyone's hair. I'll just make sure to give her a nicer gift

The cheese doesn't stand alone We planned on doing white button ups & khakis for the guys. For my bridesmaids, I can't seem to decide on a color. I'm going to let them pick out whatever dress they like, as long as it's a shorter one. I really like pool (which is aqua), watermelon, & guava from David's Bridal. I have some time to decide - I think I've already changed my colors like four times!

We're planning on the Iberostar Del Mar. I just have to get everything back to the coordinator to get our date (June 25, 2011) confirmed. The photographer situation is so frustrating! I originally was going to book at another resort, but I never got the same answer twice if you could or couldn't book a photographer from Mexico. I am actually bringing our photographer- we just have to pay for her flight & hotel and she's waiving our photography fee & giving us all the prints. She's done a few weddings for our friends & does my niece & nephew's pictures. Since she's our guest, we were able to waive the outside vendor fee with the Iberostar.

I don't know if anyone was watching My Fair Wedding today (I get sucked into anything that's a marathon), but there was a wedding with a couple that was originally going to Mexico but changed their mind. Everything was gorgeous and gave me some ideas!! I'm sure it will be replayed a million times. Lindobride - if you could send me anything that would be great - [email protected]

Oh no about the ala carte dinners! I had asked my TA about that and she wasn't sure, but if you're hearing it straight from the hotel...I guess that's true Oh well, maybe we'll do the Lindo instead. And I'm sorry if I missed it in the posts already, is there a private reception at the Lindo? I didn't think. LDeeken & Lindobride - are you in Chicago or the suburbs? I'm in Joliet

Hi ladies! I finally decided that we're going to go with the Del Mar for June 25, 2011 For the past three months, we kept going back & forth between Iberostar and Moon Palace. I have my TA contacting the wedding department to get our date booked, assuming no one has already booked that date. I cannot thank all of you enough for your posts - it really helped me make the decision in the end!!

Hi all! I'm narrowing down resorts, and it looks like one of the Iberostars will be our choice The wedding packages online are still reflecting 2009 prices. I'm assuming 2011 prices aren't out yet (we're thinking June 2011). My TA is calling next week for us to get more info. Any tips & info to share? We're probably going to have a group of 40 - 50, including four kids under 8. I'm getting a bit nervous because I don't know how much extra a rehearsal dinner & reception will cost. I'm an event planner by day for a non-profit, so I'm used to having a little bit more background knowledge & control in selecting vendors This board has been so helpful already, and it looks like all of you are well on your way!

Hey ladies! I'm a 2011 bride - hopefully at MP I fell in love with the resort online and the wedding packages seem so affordable for what's offered. FH isn't quite convinced yet because he thinks I'm jumping at the first resort I found, but I've been researching pre-engagement Southern Sweetie - did you book flights & rooms yet for your wedding? I didn't want to book our wedding yet because we can't find any flight info for next year. Plus, I'm really nervous about room costs for our guests. We plan on inviting about 60 people down there with just immediate family and close friends. I just also want to make sure that they will still be offering the group benefits for a big group - I saw right now that the bride and groom will get a free 7 night stay and unlimited private functions with booking 25 rooms. Looking forward to talking with you all

Hi ladies! I'm new to the board and am really needing some direction. I've come across the Moon Palace's website and thought their wedding packages and resort looked absolutely amazing. We are planning to get married next summer (late June/early July 2011). However, I really don't know where to start with booking. I e-mailed the wedding coordianators at the MP for info about the resorts, but am waiting to hear back still. We'd prefer to go through a travel agent to help arrange travel plans, but my FH was told by an agent that she couldn't help us this early since rates haven't been set for next year. I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed and want to get started soon - I do special event planning for living and I'm very excited to start planning our wedding We'll probably have about 50 guests - HELP Thanks!!
