  1. Hi Ladies, I am getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana Monday, January 14 2013. We are so excited. We spent around 3 months deciding on a resort and we really couldn't be more excited to have DPB be our location! My fiance and I stayed there in December of 2008 (before its remodel) and loved it. What date are you looking at ntlsnow??
  2. A lot of ladies are PMing me for some of the templates. I have no problem sending them please just make sure to include your email address and what files you specifically want. Thanks El
  3. I bought the tags from Staples "Avery Printable Tags with Strings 22802" and then just printed our monogram on them with my home printer.
  4. I got the kraft paper from Michaels but the kraft labels for the envelopes from Kraft Outlet online. The magnets are the large size. All 3 vendors were awesome to work with
  5. I posted this in "DIY" yesterday but thought I'd share it here as well... We mailed our Save the Dates two nights ago and we're LOVING all the calls, emails and texts from our family and friends already! Here is a picture of the finished Save the Date before it was put in the envelope. They are magnets inside of a Kraft paper travel stamp Jacket tied with Bakers Twine and finished with a tag with our monogram on it. They were then placed in white envelopes with a Kraft Paper, wrap around address label. No Bridal Sweatshop is complete with a couple of these in the afternoon (11 am but who's counting) I stole the stamps from a template I got from a bride on here. I am so sorry I had her name saved so I could give her credit but I can't find it right now. However, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I changed the wording on the stamps around a little, then I used Picnik to create the Jackets. It took quite a bit of trial and error to get them to be the right size once cut down. I'm sure that there would have been a better way to do this but Picnik was my only resource. Oh how I love it!!! When I showed my fiance the mock up I'd made there were a bunch of markings in the inside that were for me to know lengths and widths and he got the idea to make a compass with longitudinal and latitudinal lines. I think it ended up super cute. Below is the picnik picture of the cover: Above is the inside of the jacket with the cut lines. I made this in picnik as well and the printed it, drew the cut lines on it, scanned it and then reprinted it. Again, I'm sure there would have been an easier way to do that but that's what I came up with. Our Monogram was made by an etsy seller : http://www.etsy.com/shop/creativemontage?ref=seller_info I fell in love with these Monograms from a Bride's post on here well before we even got engaged Thank you Susanandmo!!! I printed them on Avery Printable Tags with Strings 22802. We used paper cutters and a martha stewart folding bone to "shape" the jackets. I bought the envelopes from a wonderful amazon seller. The address labels were from Kraft Outlet and I used a Martha Stewart template. After they were cut out I added the lace detail with a puncher from Michaels. I stamped the back of the jackets with a stamp I bought at Michaels for $1.00. The white ink was around $7.00 though. The Bakers Twine was also an Amazon find. Lastly are the magnets. I once again used picnik to create the layout, added pictures and put text and shapes in to make the "tag" then I saved the file and uploaded it to VistaPrint. I bought 100 magnets at 50% off so I spent around $60.00 for all of them. It ended up to be a huge savings than if I'd ordered them from another magnet store. This project was a labor of love but as I've stated in another post, I just LOVE that by doing a destination wedding I have so much extra time to work on these projects. I love the way they turned out and a HUGE thank you to all of you on this forum. I come here for inspiration all the time and get soooo much of it, it's almost overwhelming. Please let me know if you have any questions, I hope I can inspire another bride the way that so many of you have inspired me! Ellie

  7. http://mademoisellechaos.blogspot.com/2010/04/how-to-transfer-bw-picture-onto-almost.html I recommend trying the technique in the blog post I've attached above. It's a way of transfering anything printed on an inkjet printer using paint thinner. I haven't tried it yet but plan to try it with my own OOT bags. If you try it please let me know how it turns out!!!
  8. oh my goodness! that is so wonderful! I'm so glad I was able to inspire you. It seriosly is such an honor!!! Your gifts are absoluetly adorable and I love the font you used. I hope that your bridemaids love them. thank you so much for sharing yours with me. It makes my heart smile!
  9. I absolutely love them! Very cute idea and very creative using the PVC piping!
  10. Hi Ladies, This is my latest DIY. I'm making our boquets out of fabric. Each flower is hand sewn. I've mastered about 10 different flowers. I've been hunting for fabric reminents in any fabric within the white, offwhite and beige color scheme, at every JoAnne Fabrics I pass for months. I feel like the color combination and fabric differences really add to the depth of the boquet. Some flowers have beads, some do not. It's quite the project but I just love how they are turning out. I researched many different ways to construct the boquet and after countless trial and errors what ended up working was foam balls from Michaels, hot gluing a wood pick to each flower and sticking them into the foam ball. Then I stuck a 12" wood dowel into the base of the ball and used heavy duty wires rapped in scraps of green fabric around the dowel to create an appearace of stems. Anyway here's a so so I phone picture of the first finished boquet. I used about 60 flowers for this boquet so I've been busy making flowers because I have 6 bridesmaids, a flower girl, 10 bouts and 2 corsages to make. I'll try to post more pics as I get further along. If anyone is iterested in finding out more details just ask.
  11. Did you make the makeup brush roll???? I love all your details so much! They are going to love all the handmade goodness? If you did make the make-up roll yourself would you mind sharing the pattern/ instructions?? Good Job!
  12. My fiance is into brewing his own beer. Fun and tasty but goodness does his brewery/ our guest bedroom stink:) Anyway we thought it would be fun to give each guy a custom six pack. See pictures below: FRONT It says: Jacobson Brew 2013 (We're getting married Jan 2013) Official Brew WINGMAN WHEAT for the best kind of man BACK Back Says: " hey...remember when we were just two single guys, running around the bars, looking for women and cheep beer? Well those days are past me now. As my funeral approaches I'd like to thank you for being my partner in crime...a true friend..a brother. Guess that's why I call you my WINGMAN. Haha ha... As the guy who will always have my back, will you please stand beside me on the day I sign my life away...to the woman I love, and vow to make me stay out too late and drink too much when the better half kicks me out of my own bed for forgetting our anniversary." IT COMPLETELY CRACKS ME UP! We made them together so don't worry he didn't come up with the wording all alone
  13. Hi Ladies, This is my first Tread so bear with me. I absolutely love this site. More than words can say. Some of my ideas originated from here too, however, I'm sorry I can't remember just who but I'd like to say THANK YOU! The gifts to my bridesmaids were sent out 8/4/11. The whole process was just so much fun. Okay let's start with the pictures shall we These are the packaged addressed and all ready to send. Sorry about the stinky iPhone photos but my camera was dead. Each had this card on the top of the gift: (Front) I scrapbooked each girls name in the box at the bottom of the "invite" I created and printed the invites on Vista Print (which happens to be pretty much my best new friend aready! (Back) As you can see on the front, each girl was suppose to stop at each line of the poem and open a gift cooresponding with what line they were on. Below are the gifts: Gift No. 1: Went with line No. 1: "You are so sweet" (a box of chocolates) Cost around $2 at Walmart Gift No. 2 Went with Line 2: "and charming" (a starfish charm necklace) Necklace was bought on eBay for just around $3.00 I forgot the seller but if you typle in starfish necklace you'll see a ton of them. Gift No. 3 When with Line 3: "I'm so very thankful for you" (a box of thank you cards which I unfortunately don't have a picure of) Gift No. 4 Went with Line 4: "Please say I DO!" (which was a ring pop, again I'm sorry I don't have a pic) As I already said it was so much fun to send these out. They all arrived on their doorstops the very next day and only cost about $50 in shipping. Well worth it in my opinion. One bridesmaid called me crying (granted she JUST had a baby and was very emotional) My fiance's sister wrote me to sweetest note saying how excited she was and how she says "Heck Yes" to all of the "Conditions" that she'd even "Lye in mud so I didn't get my dress dirty on my wedding day" So cute! I can't say enough how fun it was to ask them in a special way. It's so nice doing a destination wedding because so many of the large details are decided for you and you have so much extra time to spend doing simple things that in my opinion make a big difference Hope you enjoy! Congratulations to all you future brides out there. This is such an exciting time!
  14. i love your invites and everything else you did with photoshop! You def have a knack for that sort of thing!
