All - I negotiated the dance floor back in November 2009. I worked with Cecilia. She was really great. I was really happy with the exchange. She also gave me a larger cake for not using the mexican trio. All in all I thought they were really easy to work with on the exchanges back in November when I had the contract signed. Maybe things have changed between then and now which is unfortunate. I'll be sure to post pics of the big day upon my return...we get married one month from tomorrow! I'm so excited!

I received the dance floor at $700 for free for not using the photographer. $300 seems very minimal since the photographer cost is $800. I am getting married June 8th...I'll be sure to post a review when I can

Sungoddess you can find them on Amazon.com...they are only $25. I am getting married June 8th and I cannot wait. We leave exactly 4 weeks from today! I am up to 6 suitcases of just wedding stuff...how the heck am I going to get this all down there. Beach reception on the Himitsu Beach...I am so freakin excited!

I think we all should wait until it is finished before we start worrying about how it will look in the end. Sounds like many people are jumping to conclusions on how it will look when its finished. Until we see the end product I think its safe to say we should relax and wait to see. I know its hard to just let it be when you are planning the biggest day of your life, but in the end you will have the decision to stick with your original plan or choose to move your wedding to another resort. What's most important is that you will be marrying your best friend surrounded by friends and family

We are just renting the sound system and they give you a tech to run your IPOD...we have some very outgoing guests that will grab the mic and do some mc'ing so we skipped the DJ and are doing our own music.

Ladies...its worth asking your travel agents about upgrades...the good ones will do their best to get you an upgrade...they often times have the connections to make that happen. Just wanted to throw that out there.

We are staying in the honeymoon suite for the 10 days we will be there in June. We will be staying June 2nd through June 12th. We got a really good deal from our travel agent and I have heard the honeymoon suites are really nice. I can keep you posted when I return!

Andim - I am having the lights under the table and we are doing the beach reception the day before you...June 8th. We are getting married at the Gazebo and doing our reception on the Himtsu Beach. Feel free to stop down and check it out the night before your wedding. We have 26 people coming...I'm getting so frickin excited!!!!!

I am also bring my own photographer and wouldn't do it any other way...espeicially if it fits your budget. I'm sure the resort photographer is fine if you don't have the budget...however I didn't want just 4 hours of shots...I wanted the 3 days...rehearsal dinner and shots around Cancun...with Dreams being downtown I want that local culture in my pics. They will shoot the day of and then the TTD after...you don't feel like you are on a time crunch and will truly capture all of those moments you wouldn't get with a resort photographer with such a limited time. IMO I say do it if you have it in your budget....I truly don't think you will regret it!!!!

We are flying a photographer in for our June wedding and it ended up costing less than what the resort photographer was charging and I was able to trade a few things for not using the resort photographer ...in the end I saved money by not using the resort photographer and bringing my own and I'm getting 2 extra days of pictures from her as she will be staying as a guest for 3 nights. Its worth looking into it if you can...you may save money and be able to trade like I did.

Peterpan...I plan on wearing my hair half down in June of this year... I will let you know how it works out.

Andim...I would call and book your hair/makeup - I too am getting married in June and they are booking up fast. Cecilia pushes you to schedule those appointments ASAP. They have an email address you can email the spa...it worked great for me.

We got our best man (we only have one standing up) a watch and a personalized bottle opener with his name engraved. It turned out great!
