So sorry to hear, but if you look on the bright side, you can Relax in DR and not have to worry about the wedding, you won't have to travel with a bunch of stuff, and you can be more hands on with your planning which is something I know all of us brides want!

I am so sorry about this, it is so awful to have family act like this. But I would say do it your way, you will not regret it. Even if you can only afford to have you and FI fly somewhere and get married, it would still be better than some stiff-necked wedding that your parents want. It is your wedding, and not your parents and their friends, and I would tell them to take the 10,000 and throw a party for them and thier friends and they can have everything just the way they want it. lol I just think this is so horrible, and believe me you are not the one being ridiculous here, they are. They are making it all about them, and if you give in, then pretty soon your mom could be telling you what type of dress to wear too. Stick to your guns, you will not regret it!

Just did 90 minutes of power yoga and I feel amazing. I love Yoga!!

So I was researching Gran Caribe and I was falling in love with it until I came across something that said you will recieve a $400 surcharge for a ceremony after 4pm, and a $350 surcharge for outside vendors. I definatly want to try and find a place that does not charge for outside vendors because we wil hire an outside photographer and DJ. Plus we are getting married in June so we might have our ceremony starting as late as 6pm. So Gran Caribe is probably out. Still looking for a TA, has anyone worked with Tammy or know anyone who has, I was thinking of working with her.

Jenny, I am trying to narrow it down, but this is where the crazy comes out. I want to look at all of them so I don't miss out on any. I thought I was a laid back person, but the more I get into this wedding planning, the crazier I get. I hope over the course of two years I don't turn into bridezilla, lol. After I got pregnant, FI and I moved in with my parents and it was really hard, and I can't even imagine how hard it was for him. But, the one thing that you can do is start to spoil yourself more with massages, spa days, Girls nights out, and other things that you love to do. Get some alone time, out of the house and away from everyone, and do not feel guilty about it for one second. The only way you can make a situation like that one work is to make sure you needs are being met first and foremost, and then your DH's needs, and then your FIL. Hope this helps, don't worry it will be ok.

So I made a list of all of the AI in the Riviera Maya, Playa, and Cancun area and I want to research them all....because I am crazy right? I am starting to think that yes I am. I need to find a TA because the list ended up being around 74 resorts long, and that is too many. I never realized how many resorts are down there. So now the search begins for a TA, and the question is.... do I use an online TA or find a local one in Denver? Does anyone have any experience working with a TA?

Hi Everyone, I have been doing so much research on resorts trying to narrow my list down to around 4 or 5 for the site visit. One problem that I keep running into is that most of the resorts only allow children over 4 in their kids clubs. I know Dreams is one of the few that allows children 3 and up. There will be quite a few young children in our group, and I am wondering if anyone knows of resorts that take children in their kids clubs that are 3 and under. It would be so nice to have that feature so that we can drop all the kids off a few days and go play. Thanks everyone!!
