Assuming we stay for a 2nd week (which we're hoping to do) we'll be sending them home with family. In regards to keeping them involved, I'm asking their opinions on colour combinations and cake and such. They are actually pretty good at this stuff! Also, because the oldest will be classified as an adult he has to stay in a different room - on paper. Just try to find persons that are travelling as just couple/or single. on paper put the kid(s) in that room then switch back. Cheers and happy planning
  2. congratulations, it's beautiful dress and whoever bought it will love it!
  3. Thank you both for your reassurance that I'm not going crazy (over nothing!) The websites were wonderful also! I'm working on it as we speak... cheers,

  5. I'm sorry if this should be in another thread, but I'm confused on what colours to choose for the wedding. I was dead set on having a deep (grape jelly) purple for the bridesmaids and using pink as an accent colour but my FI has recently mentioned he'd like baby blue on his side and I'm not sure those two colours work. In thinking about what colours would work, I'm now wondering I'd rather hot pink for bridesmaids with teal/orange accents. I'm horrible at picking colour combinations so very confused... any help woudl be great. this is what I do know.... I like.. purple teal/blue pink and want the colours to reflect fun, vibrant beach like feel! the guys will be wearing khaki pants how do I put it all together?? Cheers,

If they come back with a lower rate than Marlin, go to marlin and thell them u want them to match. The reason Marlin tends to be a bit higher is they have insentive program where you can redeem your airmiles for vouchers towards your trip. So if you have 380 (or somewhere near there) air miles you can cash that in for $50 off your trip. We opted to get the lower rate and not have the use of airmiles. Just something to think about, not sure how many ppl in your group would benifit from that. And no worries with all the questions, that's what this forum is about.

  8. yes it's 1365 including taxes, Marlin had me higher but I checked with Selloffvacations and that is the price they were offering at that time (over 1 mth ago) so they matched it. I think the wedding pkg at 400 was only on till March or so. I believe our package dinner is at one of the restaurants and I believe it's ours. I haven't looked into any other upgrades at this time, other than getting a quote on music/dance location. I had 2 friends that got married there in 2008 so I might pick their brains a bit as to what to ensure I ask for what to bring etc.. I've been told it's fairly americanized so it's not like Cuba/Dominican where pple are always trying to buy your stuff or trade things for what you have. Good luck with the TA. Cheers,

Are you finding that alot of things are included in the wedding package or are alot of things upgrades? (ie booking an a la carte for your dinner?) Its so good to finally be able to talk to someone who is in the planning stage at the same resort! Erin I've found we are few and far betewen. I went through Marlin Travel and it was $1365 for basic room.. Which I've found out the difference in rooms has nothing to do with the insides, the are all the same. The only difference is view and location. We got a bit of a deal as Nolitours was doing a "sale" on the wedding package. It included a dinner for 24, basic decoation at ceremony site, sparkling wine (based on 24) and separate check in. Also came with a $50 voucher for salon and $100 towards pic package. So all in all it' wasn't bad (got it for $400) In this package though the legal stuff wasn't included (which actually works for us as we're only doing a symbolic wedding). Happy Planning, I've heard great things from people about this resort. Friends and friends of friends have gone and it's all been pretty good feedback!

  11. congratulations, and not to worry you will find amazing tips and info on this site!
  12. I love the tears of joy packets! I should really get started on that stuff too! Thanks for sharing Cheers,
  13. mostly work. I don't check the site too often after work or on weekends, but catching up on it during the day allows me to do much more after work. Unless of course I find something else to procrastinate with! lol
  14. not 100% sure what that means either, but just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I'm sure someone will be able to help answer your question(s). Cheers,
  15. Congrats, We're going to the Royal Decameron in Panama, I've heard it's pretty upscale but kid friendly too. Separate adult pools and such but large enough that you can stay in "family friendly" areas. Just a thought. Good luck with your search! Cheers,
  16. welcome, congrats and happy planning! 54 days will go by fast! Cheers,
  17. congratulations, wherever you decide (and whenever) there will be lots of help from this forum. Cheers

  19. Congrats on your find! I'm also on a wedge hunt! Our ceremony is beach also but I'm a die hard heel girl, and need some height on me. I love those shoes and the bling, I'm just looking for a bit of colour. I'm going to check out that site though. Enjoy the shoes! and the big day Cheers,
  20. Hello Fellow Jan 2011 brides!! Congrats on the engagements and happy planning!! We picked Jan more or less because of the pricing. Our summers are very hectic (beginning in April) so we knew it had to be Jan-March. Our tirp is booked Jan 24-31, 2011 at the Royal Decameron, Panama. Our wedding date is Jan 26, 2011 on the beach at 5pm (sunset type ceremony!) I've got my dress (Essence of Australia-I haven't figured out how to download pics yet). Looking at a couple dresses from Victoria Secret (the convertible dress in grape purple) for the bridesmaids. Save the dates (DIY magnets) are made and sent out. Wedding website is done (but continually being updated) My MOH is coming from Ottawa this weekend so I can't wait to show her my dress and go over other wedding stuff!!! Hoping that time goes fast cause I'm vary anxious to get away and enjoy the sun with family and friends!!! Cheers all

Thanks, Everything looks awesome by the way... love the bubbles!!! I keep thinking I want bubbles and tears of joy packs also for the ceremony chairs. Cheers,
  22. Congrats Amanda, and welcome! This is a great forum for any and all your needs/questions. It has helped me so far (and I've still got 10mths to go). We looked at Dominican, Mexico and Cuba. Decided against Cuba just with the way the weather has been it was too iffy for Jan/Feb. We decided on Panama, as it was "different" hot! and cheaper. My suggestion is to figure out a timeframe you want to go. Based on that decide where you'd like to go (Pick a few) then pick the top resorts that you like from there. Narrow it down to 3 or 4 and go from there. Don't worry too much about what you "think" other people will want. In the end it's your day Cheers,

Thanks Carolina24!! I'm slowly coming around to see that. This forum has been a godsent for me. I love him to pieces and he's so laid back (which normally keeps me grounded but for this I don't want to be lol ) Anyway, thanks again for the insight. All the best, Cheers
