  1. thx Nicola! I am still waiting for my pics from my photog. here are 2 pics taken by my aunt ...sort of sneakpeek
  2. Andrea, 1) no, but your WC will go thru all the details and tuck the men in their spot on your big day, tell the BMs when they need walk out, then the bride. I didn't do any rehearsal nor read my ceremony script before ( I just told Zulma, my WC, that I want it short and sweet and zero reference to any religion or religious stuffs) . 2) We ate at Maria Marie and Asiana, they were able to pull 3 tables of 6-8 together in the same area, so everyone ate together at the same time and everyone picked their own plate instead of a set menu. You are right on this one, it is an useless expense if you have a small group like 20 ish or below. If you have a group of 40+ with tons of guests not staying at the Royal, then..maybe it is another story. 3) it depends on your preferences, a local photog knows all the nice spots for TTD and has good local knowledge about the location/weather/light...etc. I hired Sascha Gluck for my wedding day and TTD and brought my friend who is an indie movie director as my videotog, it turned out great! If you bring one from home who is eager to build his/her folio, then you get more pics, and pics thru out your entire stay...plus you can save on the external vendor fees. Your big day will go by like a flash, and you won't be able to remember all the tiny details around you, so please invest on a good photog and videographer or else...you will kick yourself after the big day.
  3. JHarris, wow...beautiful pics! SweetLe, me too! I should move my bum bum to finish my belated planning thread and the review..and I can't wait for the pics too! I am stalking my photog's blog everyday, hoping to get a sneak peek!!
  4. Jennifer, I think you and your hubby met my hubby, we are just 2 rooms away from yours! Girls, I am officially a Mrs. The weather was a bit stressful last night, me and Zulma had a misunderstanding...and we ended up to move the WHOLE reception from the beach to the timeshare room at the last last minute. It didn't rain, I should have listen to her, and I would ve got my dream beach wedding reception...oh well. better be safe then be sorry! I just went to take underwater TTD with Ivan Luckie, and men..I never seen that many muzzies before!!! I was eaten alive! I will post my planning thread (belated), and the review a bit later! ok..time to catch some sun!
  5. JHarris, You didn't told us about the changing/modified menu....but if the lamb was good, then I am ok ;-) Yeah, the timeshare people are very insisting, and their deals aren't that great once you worked out the maths. so better avoid them and spend our time on the beach. Debbie, There are a few review on La Luna on this forum, so far..every bride who used them waved about them.
  6. DeAngelis, Go check out Esty.com, I think you can get a very very blingy one for $200!
  7. Congratz Jennifer! I am arriving on July2, my siblings are checking in at the Royal now...then most of my guests will arrive on July 1... yeah...I am looking at the Bloomberg weather centre...they got clouds with lightening on my day...
  8. #1) I don't understand why the number of BM has to be equal to the number of boys. My FI is very sociable, and I am the opposite, so I can't match unless I put an ad on Craigslist or kijiji and hire some extra BMs to beef my bridal party up. #2) I don't get the fuss of being in the wedding party, some people got offended if they didn't get included in it. #3) I paid for all my BMs' and my FI's boys outfits. I heard stories like a selfish bride picked a $1200 BM dress, and asked the BMs, who aren't cash rich, to pay for their own dress.
  9. Gracimurano, me too, my day is coming soon. I just finished writing my vow, and now moving to write my thx speech. LOL, I won't have a beach ceremony, but will have a beach reception if the weather is ok. heehee!
  10. thx! I think it comes down to the quality of the fabrics. Normal dressmaker in China earns $300-$500 USD per month, your dress needs 2-3 days of work (like CRAZY handwork!) but that is only $30-$50 on labor, another $30 for shipping...the rest is about the materials. Babyonline's tulle and organza are a bit rough, Monica Bridal's tulles and satin are very soft. Topspartner's...I dunno, but I don't think they use cheap stuffs when I look at their pics and they said they use a lot of bonings to ensure the support ...etc etc.... Jasmine..I dunno, so far..I only saw 1 very simple chiffon grecian style dress from them on this forum, so again I dunno, but at $800, you can get a sample dress from a local shop or add a few hundred bucks..get a Vera Wang mermaid dress at Davids Bridal!
  11. oh Michelle, I see that you changed your profile pic!!! more pics please!!!!!
  12. Girls.... 9 Days left...I am so excited! However, I haven't write my vows...yet! Last night, FI read me his..and I got teary eyes.... Oh man..the bar is high now! Oh did I mentioned that our lazy a$$ postmen are on strike!!! argh!! unacceptable, they should just privatize that service and put those lazy bum bums on the street! They earn $23 per hour, plenty and bankable holidays ..and still NOT ENOUGH and UNHAPPY?!?! come on!
  13. yes, it was for you. hahaha first, do u know if the original dress is within ur budget? or can u find it off the rack at a sample sale? If yes, buy the original. If no, continue reading second, have you tried on mermaid dresses with similar cut, color and style? If yes, continue reading...if no, go out and try on dresses. it is a dress that requires a lot of hand work, but not complex...just a lot of hand stitching... so...I think Toppartner or Monica Bridal can do the job. but you won't get it for $100, maybe for $400, you will get smth very nice.
  14. WOW..they are both nice dresses!!!! But I prefer your first dress, because I like lace tulles and beads!
  15. JHarris, Thx, I really hope that he will like them. Can you tell us what issues you encountered?? Usually, my FI would let me "handle" those issues, because I am very "effective" and "efficient". I don't wanna hurt or scar any Royal staffs on my day...
  16. Vanessa, we were also on the same boat, we don't have tons of guests, and most of them are old.....(yes..old and not very dancing type!), so we skipped the lite up floor...because it is nice to have it, but we prefer to put the money on our honeymoon.
  17. Thx Girls...I can't wait for his reaction! lol Yes, I realized...it is getting closer and closer...and I have so much to do!!! lol
  18. thx girls....I am looking forward to see his reaction! lol Heidi, I don't think it is possible...I am 15 days away, and still have the welcome book...and misc things to finalize...plus..I still have 2 guests who are trying to...get on board..(aka book their trips)..sigh. Plus our super spoiled postmen are on rotational strike! Seriously $23 per hour and defined benefit pension and bankable vacation days...etc!
  19. I am leaving on July 2nd!!! I didn't notice it is so close..until this morning...lol!
