LOL. Bride standing on toilet bowl. Keepin it classy is what I do best. Thanks. LOL, I did the same with my prom dress, except I broke the toilet cover at my parents' house! hahaha...since then..I bought a wood cover instead of a plastic one.

Groom is going to be wearing khakis and a white button down shirt. Really appreciate your input as I am doing all dress shopping on my own. It is easy to get lost without a second pair of eyes. CIMG0425.jpg picture by knacarato - Photobucket Beautiful dress, and it is perfect for the beach, not too puffy nor big. It is your day! you can wear whatever you want and feel beautiful. As for the ivory vs white gazebo, I don't think there will be huge contrast with the bright sunlight. As for the budget, this dress would cost $100-$180 to make if you go with a dress manufacturer, given the margin for bridal shops is usually 70%+. -

I started my shopping at Davids, dresses were great, but materials were so so. Salespeople were pushy and not that helpful on the phone. So I further my research, went to shops in Montreal. Being a size 00p, most of the dresses looked awful on me, even with clips, a size 10 dress is...weird on me. Finally, I decided to have mine custom made with own vision, twist and ideas. I want my dress to be romantic, modern, and mermaid style. I found a chinese exporter in Suzhou which exports wedding gowns to USA and Europe, and my dress turned out to be amazing. More pics on photobucket. the dress pictures by prettypigpig - Photobucket -

The materials and craftmanship are excellent, you can see from the album pics, no pin marks or...assymetric bust or weird proportion that I ve seen here on this thread.

I'm now playing with the idea of doing my own makeup....that vendor fee @ the royal is too expensive! Yes, it is our eyes shape. We don't have the folds and creases like the caucasian brides, so smokey eyes on caucasian brides would look like panda eyes on asians brides. I am waiting for Lindobride's review on Waves Salon (she will have her trial this month), because it is much more relax to have someone to do the hair and makeup on the day then trying to DIY (of course, if you are a makeup artist, it is a different story). There are also my sisters, my MIL that need their hair and makeup done too. It is just much easier to do a group package deal, and everyone is chill and happy. One thing I should note, Waves offers airbrush makeup, that doesnt move or melt during the day, which is a plus for me. I have oily oily skin, and with 35C and 70% humidity outside, you can fry an egg on my face after 1 hour in the sun. I guess I will make sure to tell my makeup artist that I want to look very natural and neutral with my makeup and not like a 1980 asian movie star.

(not familiar with the name) Fernando is a very popular makeup artist in the area. He has a website, and very good reviews from all the previous brides who worked with him. His works on caucasian brides look amazing! However, I have seen some of his work on asians brides...and ...hmmm...I don't see myself look like a thai hooker in Hollywood movie on my wedding day. The price is around $300 for a trial plus the makeup on the day. Another problem is my resort would charge me $350 for bringing Fernando in. That is why I am looking into the Waves Salon.

After months of working with the travel agent we just confirmed and booked our date. We've visited the Mayan Riviera twice before. The 1st time we stayed at the Bahia Principe Akumal and fell in love with the Mexico. So, when we got engaged we knew we wanted to go back there to get married. So this past March we booked another vacation to check out the resort. I'd done some research on the internet to find the resort that suited us best and decided on the Barcelo Maya Tropical. The resort was beautiful and we were really happy with our choice. I couldn't imagine booking a wedding there unless I visited it and I was so happy we did. The wedding co-ordinator met us and spent about 2 1/2 hrs with us. She took us all around the resort on a golf cart and showed us all the different areas we could choose for the ceremony and the reception. We decided on the Barcelo Palace Gazebo (if you're not staying at the Palace there is a charge to have the ceremony there) and for the reception we chose the Palmeras Grill. An open air restaurant just off the beach. Anyway, if you decide to do a pre-trip it's well worth it. Really sets your mind at ease. Couldn't be happier with our selection. Totally agree with you on this. After my menu sampling and site inspection trip, I turned into procrastinating mode! kekeke

Here's what I have so far: Sort of want something whimsical like these first two with the fruit. Our colors are coral and hot pink. I don't think peonies are available (for the first one), but maybe I could substitute another flower with big blooms like dahlias or hydrangeas? This I thought was really unique. Are those pink hydrangeas? Anyone know? This is from another BDW-er that got married at our resort & had her centerpieces done by Maya Diseno. I would substitute our colors and do hot pink gerber daisies and maybe orange on the tall orchids Very nice centrepieces! I always found flowers a bit too expensive for what it is. As no one really plays a lot of attention, and it is gone the day after the wedding. After all the weddings I have been to, I can't remember any centrepiece or decor, except one that got a big ICE sculpture for their oyster bar (maybe it was more the oysters than the ice sculpture that captured my attention). My resort is charging $80 and up for each centrepiece..and extra arms and legs for decors and misc.. I haven't really look into it yet, but I would probably do the minimal and put the flower funding into my tennis bracelet fund...kekeke

We're planning on about 40 and he calculated out that even if we get up to 50ish it would still save us a good bit of money. This is especially the case if you are going to have a good proportion of Real-resort guests. The only thing we ended up cutting were things like the couples massage and flowers for the room...minor non-wedding things that weren't that important to us since we are honeymooning elsewhere. Sarah, My FI thought I am the only crazy person who would built an Excel spreadsheet model for number of guests and packages...with an optimizer and different scenarios simulations to stress test our budget! Now I can tell him, I am not alone! Totally agree with you, compared with the luxury package, it costs $500-$1000 less with the classic/romance packages + add ons.
